Good Morning,
Mood: Cheerful
Music listening too: Fire by the Ohio Players
Well I started today at 5:30am caring for Chris. Elise is still counting Javalina's this morning. The coffee is on and smelling really good. No real plans for today as of yet, but it is a Monday and we usually take it slow and easy.
As I promised here is a overview of our stay in Prescott:
We left Tucson at around 12:00pm on the 19th of November. We took our time driving and we arrived in Prescott at the Prescott Pines Inn B&B. We got settled in our room and what a nice room it was. This is a quaint B&B that used to be a ranch and then a dairy farm. Our hostess is from England, she and here husband have owned the B&B for three years. Our room has a fireplace in it and that was very nice. This B&B is set up different than most B&B's. We have a fridge, microwave, coffee pot, plates and glasses, the works that one would have in a kitchen. Excellent set up!
We sat down and we had Jack and coke and some Frito's while we were looking through some brochures of the area and it's activities. We went to have dinner at one of the eatery's that was recommended by our hostess. The restaurant was called "Gatos Azul" they served tapas that we love very much. We had with our bottle of Lodi wine, caprese, jerk chicken, cheese wontons, pickled jalapenos, beef on a stick, chateau beef. The food was excellent. We left there and returned to the B&B and we called it a night.

We slept well last night an we woke up at 7:ooam. We feel asleep last night while watching a DVD and we never did see that ending of it. We got dressed and settled and then we headed over for breakfast. We had crepes made eggs, cheese and chile's. We had granola with homemade yogurt, bacon, sausages and lots of mixed fruit. Blackberries, kiwi, blueberries, watermelon, cantaloupe, and bananas. Wonderful!
We shared breakfast with four other guests. A couple form Havasu, Arizona who were celebrating their 45th wedding anniversary and two women from Chicago. They were very pleasant to talk to.
We returned to our room and decided on a plan of action for today. We went to "Whisky Row" which is in downtown Prescott and we walked around the courthouse square. There are a lot of shops for tourists, ans many antiques shops as well. We went to the Sharlot Hall Museum which gave the history of Prescott. It was very interesting and educational. We were both tired after walking around for about 4 hours. We returned to our room and we played computer games on our laptop an we threw down a few more Jack and cokes. We also had pretzels and Frito's to snack on as well.
Later we left to have dinner at a placed called "129 and 1/2 Jazz Restaurant". What a great place. We got there at about 5:15pm just in time for happy hour drinks and appetizers at reduced prices. We each had two glasses of wine for $4.00 dollars each and we had peel and eat shrimp that was too die for and the cocktail sauce was nice ad spicy the way we like it. They gave us at least a dozen and a half of shrimp and we thought that we were going to explode from eating them all. We also tried a one salmon deviled egg which was different but not as good as the shrimp. We then had a small salad and Elise had Trout Florentine which was delicious. I had a pork chop called the Big Boy and it lived up to it's name. It was stuffed with cornbread dressing and it was so good. We had so much food we had to box up the leftovers. The best part was that a live jazz band was playing and they were very, very good. They were out of Sedona, Arizona. A fantastic evening!
We waddled back into our room and we watched a DVD named "Cradle Will Rock that was very good. Afterward we called it a night.

We slept very well and we got dressed and we went over for breakfast. We had a wonderful breakfast of homemade pancakes, bacon, sausages, fruit, yogurt and granola, and plenty of coffee and juice. We had breakfast with another lady who was originally from the east coast. We returned to our room and we decided to go for a hike in Acker park. Not has many pine trees as Elise would have liked but a very good hike anyway. We returned to our room and we packed up the pick up and we went to check out and thank Janet and Tony for showing us a grand time. Oh I forgot Janet gave us an overview on about how she and her husband got into the B&B business and about her life in England. It was very interesting to hear and to see that they enjoyed what they were doing.
We stopped at Bucky's Casino in Prescott Valley and we spent about an hour there. We won $60.00 dollars on a $20.00 bet so we came home winners. We arrived back home at around 4:30pm and we unpacked. Later after Marv the caregiver came to take over from Brent we went to Colors and had a couple of drinks. Then we went next door to the Live Theater to see that show called Death By Mystery, it was very good. Afterward we went to Buddy's Grill for dinner. Elise had the Pork chops with veggies, and a baked potato. I had the meatloaf, Au gratin potatoes and veggies. We shared a bottle of red that was half price for the bottle. We returned home and we called it a night. It was a very good mini-vacation and we are looking forward to the next one in Tempe, Arizona next month. It is always good to get away for a bit, but it is always a pleasure to come back home.
