Good Night

Good Night

It has been a fair day here in Tucson, but I am still very tired. We took Chris to his chiro appointment and Elise got a treatment and I was hoping that it would have made her feel much better but it did not.

I stretched out for about an hour and I could not get to sleep so I am hoping that I will tonight. Stress is a killer isn't it? I am caring for Chris this evening and Elise is at her book club meeting. I can't wait to see what she will bring me for dinner.

Well tomorrow is my birthday and I am looking forward to it being good one. Elise is taking me out to a French restaurant on Thursday evening, I am looking forward to that. On Sunday Elise, her Mom and Paula and Marty are taking me to Zemans Ethiopian restaurant for dinner and I know that I will enjoy that. Afterwards we are going over to Paula and Marty's for dessert. Great friends indeed, eh?

Well, I had better get back to work with Chris. Have a great evening all.

Good Morning

Good Morning

Mood: Sleepy

Music listening to: Purple Rain by Prince

How are you doing on this fine Saturday morning? I started the day off at 5:30am caring for Chris. Elise is still sawing logs and she is still having problems with her back pain. Normally Elise would care for Chris today but today I will until she starts to feel better. Any plans for today? We are going to see the Beethoven play tonight and we are going to have dinner at the Barrio. At the present time Elise is hosting Marathon bridge session in the main house and her Mom is one of the players.

Here is a overview of our mini-trip to Phoenix, we had a very nice and relaxing time:

We left Tucson at around 9:15am on 22-April after Brent arrived to care for Chris. Brent was telling us about how Chris enjoyed himself at Chucky Cheese on Thursday and now he is addicted to cotton candy. Elise and I ran a few errands after we left home and then we had breakfast at Gus Balones. Elise had ham, eggs. potatoes and toast. I had pork chops, eggs, potatoes, and toast. Of course we had gallons of coffee. After breakfast Elise went to her chiropractor for a treatment for her back and it helped.

We stopped at a drugstore to get some bottled water and some Tylenol for me and some aspirin for Elise. We listened to a book on tape on the way to Phoenix that Elise borrowed from her sister Ann and we discovered that one of the tapes was missing, bummer. We arrived at the Marriott at around 2:00pm and it is hot as can be, 100 degrees. We unpacked and are relaxing with a Jack and coke. Later we are going to go to the Botanical Gardens and look around. We are going to return to the Garden after dark to see the light display within the grounds.

At around 6:45pm we returned from from walking through the Gardens, it is a huge place and it is very hot outside. The blown glass displays are great and very interesting to see. In the meantime we are having another Jack and coke , smile! We returned to the Garden after it got dark and the blown glass displays were all lit up and it was really cool to see. We departed he Garden and we went to a place called McCormick & Schmidt's for a seafood dinner. Elise had the Alaskan halibut and I had the Tilapia from Ecuador. Our waiter was excellent and really tended to Elise's special needs with gluten allergy. With the meal we each had an 8 ounce glass of Cab and it was great. For dessert we shared a peach cobbler with coffee. Oh yeah I ordered scalloped potatoes as a side and it was a meal by itself, hugs portion. We are STUFFED!! We returned to our room and called it a night.

On Thursday 23 April I got up at around 8:00am and I put on the coffee and the smell of it brewing woke Elise up. We went down for breakfast in the dining area of the Courtyard, it was a little expensive but convenient. Elise had oatmeal, and orange, banana. I had eggs, bacon, potatoes, toast and we both had coffee. After breakfast Elise went to the exercise room and she rode the stationary bike for about 30 minutes, while I was in the room chilling. Then we went to the Jacuzzi and Elise relaxed in the hot water and let the jets work their magic on her back. I sat and took a few photos.

It is now 11:50am and we left the Marriott heading for Sara's new house that she just bought, it is very close to the Marriott and in a very nice area. We took a tour of hr home and it is very well constructed. Sara has repainted some of the rooms to her liking in a array of colors. The most interesting one is her bedroom, it is a deep rich green with a pink trim that matches her bedspread. After our tour we took Sara to lunch at a place she picked called Zoe's, and it was very good. Elise and Sara both had the grilled chicken with sauteed onions on top, served over cold slaw with feta cheese. Elise said it was delicious! I had a grilled ham and Swiss sandwich with a pasta salad that was very good. We left to go back to the Marriott and Sara left for her track coaching job that she does part time. Sara is a fireman full time. We got back into the room and we played video games on the laptop and we consumed Jack and cokes most of the afternoon. Elise took a short nap and I watched the TV and I had a hard time hearing it due to the snore concert that was going, smile.

We got dressed later and headed back to Sara's to take her out to dinner for her birthday dinner again we asked her to pick the place and she did. We went to a Greek food place called "Bacchanal" and it was wonderful. Elise had the Gyro platter, Sara had a chicken dish with a wonderful sauce on it. I had a chicken breast stuffed with tomatoes and feta cheese, I was in heaven. Sara had a glass of white wine and Elise and I shared a bottle of a Greek red wine that was excellent. For dessert Sara was given a bowl of rice pudding with a candle on top, very nice and we shared it with her. The topper of course you guessed it hot coffee. We said good night to Sara and we returned to the Marriott and crashed. A wonderful evening.

Friday April 24th, I woke up early and I put on the coffee. I woke Elise up at 7:00am and she let me know that it was too early, but she welcomed the coffee. We went down for breakfast and then we began to pack up for the drive back home to Tucson. We departed Phoenix at about 11:00am and we arrived in Tucson at about 12:45pm. We went to the movies to see a movie with Russell Crowe and Ben Affleck called the State of Play,it was very good. We got home after the movie and unpacked, it is always good to come back home after Brent returns with Chris I will be caring for him due to Marv is not able to work with him due to his recent surgery.Chris is in a good mood and glad to see us back home.

Well, their you have a good mini-trip. I will post some of the photos within some of the upcoming posts to our blog. The photo above is Elise relaxing in the Jacuzzi..

After breakfast we returned home and I dropped Elise off and I took her Mom home. Then I ran a couple of errands that needed to be done and then I returned home.

Elise gave Chris a biofeedback treatment like she does every Sunday. We did not put Chris on the standing frame due to Elise's back muscles are still giving her fits. We watched a DVD called Soul Man and we ate popcorn while we watched it.Chris enjoyed it very much.

After Rosemary arrived to care for Chris we left to pickup her Mom because she wanted to take us out for dinner and she did. We went to a place called Bistro 44 and the food was great. How are you feeling today? I started the day off at 5:30am looking in on Chris and getting him settled for the morning. Elise will be caring for Chris this morning. I have my much needed cup of coffee in hand right now and it is good. I need it to kick start the day due to the dogs were barking at something or someone at around 1:30am this morning and I didn't see anyone at all. They started up again around 2:00am and this time Elise got up with me and we didn't see anyone. So it was a very short night when you get up at 5:30am.

I must apologize for my senior moment that I had while I was posting to the blog yesterday. These moments seem to be coming around more and more lately and I am starting to wonder why that is? Smile. We didn't see what I posted yesterday,we will see that next week on Saturday. We did see Ken Page, Page by Page and it was excellent and the music was great. Before we saw Ken Page we had dinner at Teresa's and let me tell you what a meal. My Elise said that she was not that hungry but she cleaned her plate down to the last bean and so did I. We both had Margarita's and they were very good, as a matter of fact we got a large one and we shared it after we each had a small one. We had flan for dessert with coffee and the coffee was very good. A very nice evening for the two of us.

We returned home and I checked on Chris and we called it a night. We are going to breakfast this morning with Elise's Mom and Paula and Marty. We will meet up at the Hungry Fox were they are famous for their double egg breakfasts. Well, I had better get to it, have a great Sunday.

Good Night

Good Night All,

How has your Friday been? It has been a pretty good day here in Tucson. I took Chris to his doctor's appointment and all went well, except I started to not feel well while we were waiting to be seen. I developed a very bad headache and I have no energy at all. I guess I need some rest, eh?

I am caring for Chris this evening because Marv is still out sick. Our dinner this evening was excellent. The filet's were so good and the little potatoes were divine, even the purple ones. We had a nice salad and the Burgundy was so good. It was a Drouhim Pommard Burgundy 2005, well worth the price indeed. My Elise will have to have physical therapy on her back and she will need to take some muscle relaxers as well. It is more muscular than her actual back.

Well,I had better tend to Chris and get him settled for the night. We hope that you Friday was a good one?

How are things going on this Thursday morning? I started today off at 5:30am caring for Chris. Elise is up and about this morning. It is a cool 40 degrees this morning here in the desert. The coffee is nice and hot and working very well.

Chris and Elise will be getting a massage today when Donna arrives at 10:00am. I have a very special errand to run this morning while they are getting their massages.I am going to buy a high end wine today. I try to do this every six months or so just to indulge myself. I have been doing this for a few years and at times it can get costly but you only go around once and I am enjoying the ride. I am going to purchase a bottle of Burgundy this time, and I enjoy looking at the many wines that are out there. We are talking about a bottle costing $100.00 or more, I can taste it now.

We are going out this evening after Brent arrives to care for Chris. We are meeting up with Paula and Marty at La Placita in downtown Tucson to see a movie that will be shown outdoors. Good Night

Good Night,

It is still very windy here in Tucson. It has been a very relaxed day today and I am grateful for that. Chris is doing just great, but Elise's back is still bothering her. It is muscular pain and it is going to take a while to heal but she is a fighter.

Elise prepared a very nice dinner this evening. It consisted of fresh string beans, small potatoes that varied in color to include purple potatoes inside and out, also we had cubes, tomatoes, and sweet and dill pickles. I meal fit for a king I must say. We also consumed a couple of glasses of red.

We also watched the DVD Seven Pounds with Will Smith and it was very good and surprising to the end. Well, I had better get back to work. Have a wonderful evening all.

I am waiting on the coffee to brew as usual. Chris and I will be visited by my nurse supervisor this morning at around 11:30am for the usual 3 month visit. I am still having computer problems with AOL and the mail. I am hoping that today will be a very relaxed and peaceful one.

I had better get busy and start the day off with gusto. Have a good Hump Day all.

I hope that we don't get blown off of the map today, smile. We visited a friends home yesterday and I must say I was amazed with their backyard. It is loaded with all types of flowers and cacti and it is very well landscaped and it is all done by them. They gave us some pointers on how to care for the plants and cacti that was very, very educational. They also gave us a few plants to put in around our home as well. It was a very good visit. I will add some of the photos that I took in my next entry.

Good Night

Good Night,

Well,it has been a very long day but we got through it. Chris is in very good health and his doctor was glad to see him. We will be taking him for some routine blood work in a few days.

We had soup for dinner this evening that was very good. We also watched another episode of Rumpole of the Bailey. He is so good. Elise is off to play bridge at her Mom's house. Well, I had better get back to Chris before he drifts off to sleep from his long day. Have a peaceful evening all.

Good Night Jeanne

Sis, enjoy your cruise, talk with you when you return.

Marcie and Tiger, have a good evening.

JT, I emailed your Mom and I have not gotten any replies as of yet.

How are you this morning? I started today off at 3:30am just could not sleep well at all, so I got up and began the day. I checked on Chris and he is sound asleep and so is Elise. I put on my sweats and I got on the Bowflex and worked out for a bit. I then came back into the house and I checked my email and I paid some bills.

I will be waking Chris up shortly so that I can get his day started with a shower. We will be taking him to see his doctor this morning, he has a 10:00am appointment for a routine visit. After we return from his appointment I have a few other errands to run as well. How was your Easter?

Well, it is time for some coffee and toast to give me energy to get this day rolling. Have a good day despite the fact that it is a Monday. Stay safe.

Later......................
