Howdy Still Raining

Hello,

Well, it is still raining like crazy here in the Old Pueblo. The dogs are glad to be inside, they are enjoying the heat and being able to be nosey at the same time. I just got back from having breakfast with Mum. We had a very nice time and the food was good.

Mum had eggs, crisp bacon, hash browns and toast. I had eggs, hash browns, sausages and pancakes. We devoured two pots of coffee that was very good. I am back at home now and I am going to get Chris's day moving forward. Boy it is really raining out.

Later...........

Nancy , it good to hear from you and the family.

Rosie, good to hear from you. Be careful sitting at the PC for too long. We may use my winnings on our cruise next month.

How are you? I started the day off at 6:00am caring for Chris. I was awakened from a peaceful sleep at around 1:30am by the dogs barking at something. I went right back to sleep after I looked around and saw nothing. It was raining pretty good and we always need the rain. As a matter of fact it is raining right now. The coffee is good this morning and I just made pot from fresh ground beans.

I am going to go out for breakfast with Mum this morning at Ihop because it is close to her home and to kept her out of the rain. Elise will be home this evening and it will be good to see her and to hear about what went on in Pasadena. I have no plans for today and that is a good thing.

Well, you have a good day and a better tomorrow. Stay safe and healthy.

Later..............

Good Morning Jeanne.

Good Night

Good Night

Today has come to a close with a good notion. The Wildcats won their basketball with a fantastic shot by MoMo Jones at the last second of the game. A well played game by both teams. I finished my reading assignment today and I listened to the professor lecture. I am now caught up with my classwork.

I have not heard from Elise as of yet today but she will call some time tonight. It has been a relaxed day except that Chris put me to work today with replacing two catheters. He has been a bit antsy most of the day, but he calmed down after I got his catheter changed for the second time.

Well, I had better wash my dinner dishes and then I will watch a little TV and I will read a book after Rosemary leaves and I check on Chris. Wait a minute I just talked to Elise and things are going well in Pasadena. Elise says that it is cold and rainy and they have been indoors most of the day. I asked her if she got my message last night about the casino winnings and she had not gotten it so I filled her in. They will be back in Tucson tomorrow evening and I will get more info about the trip. Well, you have a good night and sleep well.

Cheers..............

Good Night Jeanne, thank you for the dinner invite, I appreciate it very much.

Tiger and Marcie, have a good evening.

How are you? I started the day off at 5:50am caring for Chris. Normally Elise would be caring for Chris this morning but she is in Pasadena, California with her sister for the weekend. I talked with her on the phone last night and they arrived safe and sound and they were on there way to get something to eat.

I am in a very good mood this morning due to I had a very nice short visit to the Desert Diamond Casino last night while Marv was here caring for Chris. I played various slots and it was a lot of fun. I played the quarter machine and I won $650.00 dollars and let me tell you I was elated. My investment in the slots was $100.00 and I think that is a very good return don't you? I had planned only to spend $40.00 but something kept telling me to stick with the slot that I was on and I am glad that I did. I needed a Jack and Coke after my winning but I declined due to I had to drive back home. Wonderful evening out at the casino!

I will be caring for Chris until 5:00pm and Rosemary will take over for a few hours. I am going to read some of my Psych class assignment and then listen to the professor lecture and I will be caught up. Well, the coffee is good and again I am feeling great. $$$$$$$$, yes!! Have a good day and stay safe, happy and warm.
Joe, I used the photo of the Javalina without showing Mary's face, OK?

How are you doing? I started the day off at 5:00am caring for Chris. Elise is testing new sounds for the government this morning but she is carrying a tune nicely, smile. The coffee is excellent this morning. Any plans for today?

My mood is lonely for today and all of this weekend due to Elise will be in Pasadena, California with her sister Ann. So I am a bachelor this weekend, so beware Old Pueblo. I may even hit the casino for a short visit and I do mean a short visit, smile.

Elise and I went to the movies to see about Tolstoy and it was very good and we were glued to the screen and the theater was packed. Later we went to dinner at Flemings and let me tell you it was fantastic, we love it there. We started off with a bottle of a blended red that was was very good. We both had the lobster bisque that was so good with bread and two different kind of spreads. We both got a filet and a lobster tail with green beans mixed with mushrooms. The entree was to die for it was so good and the lobster was sweet as it could be. We both had coffee and a large pastry to share stuffed with apple slices and blueberries and topped with a scoop of ice cream. We also got a bowl of whipped cream that was so good it could have been the dessert all by itself. A great evening indeed. The kicker for the evening was that we bet on the Superbowl and the loser had to buy the bottle of red. It was a win,win situation.

We returned home and after Rosemary left I checked on Chris and we called it a night but we had to stay awake until Elise's sister Ann arrived because she was staying with us overnight prior to their departure for California. Well, I had better get busy. Have a good Friday all and think about old lonesome me and my TV dinners a huge drop from lobster tails, eh? Smile!

Later................

Good Morning Jeanne.

Tiger and Marcie, get to it.

Joe and Mary, wow thank you for the info about your trip. Fantastic photos of Mary and the Javalina. I may put the Javalina on my next posting.

Ross, you are on a roll today.

Sis, have a good weekend in Georgia.

I have to get Chris prepared for a visit from one of his case manager's who will be here at 8:30am. After that Chris and Elise will be receiving a their weekly massage from Pam. A bit later Elise and I will be tackling the crowds at Costco. We haven't been able to get our workouts in on the Wii for a few days. We had better get back into the swing of things with that very soon.

After Rosemary arrives to care for Chris this afternoon we are going to the movies and then we are going out for dinner at Fleming's. We love Fleming's and we can hardly wait for the great dinner specials they offer. Well, I had better get busy and get a move on. Have a good day and a much better tomorrow.

Good Night

Good Night

The day has come to an end and it has been a day of ups and downs. We just got back from dinner at Buddy's Grill and it was very good. Elise's Mum wanted to take us out this evening. Mum had the chicken salad with fruit, and she had bread and coffee. Elise and I had the pork chops, veggies, baked potato, Au gratin potatoes, apple sauce and bread. Elise and I washed it down with a Jack and Coke.

We also had a very nice evening with Jeanne and Angelica. It is always a pleasure to visit them up in the foothills of Tucson. We had tostadas and a couple of Jack and Cokes and they were great. We also played a few hands of bridge and that was a lot of fun. It is so good to see Jeanne up and about.

Well, Rosemary just left and I checked on Chris and he is doing OK. Tomorrow one of Chris's case manager's will visit with him and I early in the morning. Have a good night and sleep well. I want to thank everyone who commented about the Smilebox that I sent out called Wanted. I also want to thank everyone who follows our blog for checking the response boxes as well.

Good Night

Hey, how was your day? It has been a pretty good day here in the Old Pueblo for Chris and I. I cannot say that for my Elise, she had been having a time of it today. You would have thought it was a Monday, eh? She has been through many hair pulling problems today, but she is dealing with them so far.

I am caring for Chris this evening and Elise is at her book club meeting. I am looking forward to what she brings me back for dinner tonight, I believe it will be some good Mexican fare. Ole'. I was supposed to get back to my Psych class assignments today but I was concerned about Elise that I postponed it until tomorrow.

Well, I had better get to work with Chris. Have good evening and sleep well.

Cheers.................

Good Night Jeanne, hope that you start to feel better soon. We will see you tomorrow.

Good Night

Good Night,

How has your day been? Things have been rolling along at a slow pace here in Tucson. We just finished dinner and I am caring for Chris. Elise has just left to play bridge at her Mum's. We are being rained on here in Tucson and that is always a very good thing for us. Well, here is a bit more about our mini-vacation to Alamogordo, New Mexico.

We departed from Tucson at around on the 18th of Feb 10. Kecia is caring for Chris while we are away. We are listening to a book on CD called Help and it is very good. We stopped in Wilcox at a truck stop for breakfast. Elise had eggs, potatoes and toast. I had eggs, pork chops that I shared with Elise, and potatoes. We got back on the road and we arrived in Alamogordo at 2:10pm. We are staying at a Super 8 that has been remodeled. The rooms have been redone, new drapes, tile, carpet etc. They are even redoing the lobby area with some great floor tile. The weather is nice and sunny, but cool. After we got settled in our room we took a walk around town for a while to see what was available.

We stopped by the theatre to pick up a couple of movie tickets for this evening before dinner. We saw the Edge of Darkness with Mel Gibson and it was very good and a bit scary. We returned to our room and we were very happy that the Wildcat's game was going to be on TV here. We went to a place called Pepper's for dinner it is right next to the Super 8. The food was great and it reminded us of Cody's Beef and Bean here in Tucson. Elise got the pork fillet wrapped in bacon, a salad, and a baked potato. I had the catfish, rice, and salad. We shared a carafe of red. Excellent meal. We returned to our room and we called it a night.

19 Feb 10

We started the day at around 7:30am and we slept very well. I made coffee and we got dressed. We left for breakfast. We ate a place called Alamo Grill and it was good. I had the pork chops and let me tell you they were very tender, way better than yesterdays. I also had eggs and toast. Elise had ham and eggs. We threw back a few cups of coffee as well. After breakfast we went to the visitor's center and we got info about Alamogordo. It has about 38,000 people and it is supported by Holloman Airbase and White Sands Missile Range.

Then we left for Lowe's a local grocery store and we bought some Havarti cheese, pepper jack cheese, and some Genoa salami, bread, carrots and Cheetos. We were all set for our trek to White Sands, we had a very nice time in and on the dunes. We walked the dunes and we slide down the dunes a few times on a plastic sled we bought. After that we had lunch at the dunes and we had some red wine that we brought us in a bota bag. After a few hours there we drove back to town and bought tickets for the movie Shutter Island with DiCaprio. The movie was excellent and we recommend that you go to see it.

The movie was 2 and 1/2 hours long and by the time it was over it as after 9:00pm and all of the eateries had closed. So we returned to our room and we had leftover cheese, salami and a few Jack and Cokes. We are planning on eating Mexican food tomorrow before the Cat's game. We called Kecia to see how things were going and everything was just fine. We read for a short while and then we called it a day.

20 Feb 10

We started the day off by having a cup of coffee prior to finding a place for breakfast. We drove to Lowe's Market and we parked the truck in the parking lot. Then we walked all over the surrounding neighborhood starting with New York Ave, which used to be a popular place to shop when things were jumping. It is kind of empty and deserted now and most shops are vacant. Then we walked down Delaware Ave, Virgina Ave, and after about 45 minutes we returned to the truck. We drove around looking for a place to have breakfast because we didn't want to eat a Denny's. We stopped at an Applebees and and it was open but it was having a special pancake breakfast for a charity fundraiser so we left. We drove around for a while in the foothills and by the college. We were starting to get hungry so we stopped at the place were we had decided to have dinner this evening. La Hacienda. We were glas we did because the breakfast was great.

I had the steak ranchero with eggs and potatoes, Elise had the a red chile con carne with eggs, potatoes and we both had corn tortillas. The food was divine! We had coffee but Elise wanted a Margarita. I persuaded her to wait until this evening when we return for dinner. After that we went to Wal-Mart to buy some RV Wheel covers for Chris's van to protect the tires and we bout some diet coke as well. The weather is still sunny but a bit crisp and cool. We played computer games most of the afternoon and of course we had a few Jack and Cokes. We received a call from Kecia letting us know that Rosemary was not going to show to relieve Kecia due to a friend of hers husband had passed away suddenly. Kecia was fine with continuing to care for Chris.

We left for dinner at 5:00pm and we returned to La Hacienda and once again we were pleased with the meal. We each got a Margarita. Elise had 3 tacos with rice and beans. I had 3 chicken enchiladas with rice and beans. We had chips and salsa as well. We were stuffed to the gills and all for $23.00. Excellent! We returned to our room and we played computer games until around midnight. We also threw down a few more Jack and Cokes. We could not find the Wildcats game on TV because it did not come on until Sunday afternoon. We called it a night.

21 Feb 10

We got up at around 8:30am and I went to the lobby for coffee for the both of us. We got dressed and we began to pack up for the trip back to Tucson. We checked out at around 9:30am and we stopped in Las Cruces to eat.We got home at around 3:00pm and we unpacked and took as short break. We checked to see how Chris and Rosemary were doing. We then left for Oregano's for pizza and and a bottle of red. We go to Oregano's every three months for pizza and red. While we are there we also grab a couple of Bellini's as well, and they are really good. It was the perfect way to end our short but very relaxing mini-vacation. We are looking forward to our next adventure together. It was a very good trip.

The photos are of our visit at the dunes, it was a lot of fun there.

Cheers...........

Good Night Jeanne, we hope that you feel better soon.

Monna, what a surprise we received in the mail today. We love to Olympic coffee mugs. Thank you so very much.

Debbie ,it was good to hear from you today.

Mood: Sleepy

How are you? I started the day off at 5:00am, but I have been awake since 2:00am due to Lampchop barking at something. I got up to see what it was and I saw nothing at all, so I was wide awake. The barking woke Elise up as well but she quickly had her lights out and returned to dreamland.

We will be leaving at around 6 or 7 this morning headed for New Mexico for a few days. I tell you I am in need of some hot coffee right now, can you say a gallon please? My stomach is growling as well and I guess I need some bacon and eggs or something too!

We had a very nice dinner out with Elise's Mum last night at Marie Calendar's. I had a cup of potato cheese soup, fish, shrimp and fries. Elise had the Mediterranean salmon with veggies, and Mum had chicken pot pie her favorite. We washed it down with a bottle of red and coffee. We were all too full to have any pie for dessert.

We returned home and I checked on Chris, then I hit the sheets and called it a night. Kecia is caring for Chris tonight and while we are away she will be sharing the care with Rosemary. Well, I had better get myself together and get this mini-vacation started. Have a good day and stay safe.

I have to run a errand or two this morning after Kecia arrives to care for Chris. I will load up the pick up this evening for our mini-vacation to New Mexico. We are going to go out for dinner this evening with Elise's Mum. We are going to Marie Calenders because Elise's Mum loves their chicken pot pies that are huge. Good Night

It has been a good day here in Tucson. I ran my errands and I got the pick up checked out for our mini-vacation to New Mexico. I did some yard work after Kecia left for the day. Chris was outside watching me and supervising, while Elise was clearing out leaves and such from the front yard so that I could spray the yard with a weed killer.

Jeanne W showed up to visit with Chris and that brought a smile to his face. She talked with Elise while I continued to work on the yard. Later we played games on the Wii and Chris watched us. Elise prepared dinner for us that consisted of the leftover stuffed green peppers, man is that good. We all watched a few episodes of Mash on DVD.

I am caring for Chris this evening and Elise is playing bridge at her Mum's. I am all packed and ready to go to New Mexico on Thursday morning. It should be a fun trip. I want to thank everyone who have been checking off on the reactions portion of our blog. You have a good evening and a great tomorrow.

The day has come to an end just about and I am really tired tonight. I am sure that I need to get the sleep that I lost last night. I hope that tonight will not be a repeat. It has been a good day anyway, I got my errands done and Chris and I played on the Wii for a while. Elise played for a short while before she prepared dinner.

We had chili with injera this evening and it was fantastic. We also had carrots, red peppers and tomatoes. We washed it down with ginger ale, smile. Tomorrow I will take the pick up to be topped off at Jiffy Lube,to make sure that it is good to go for our mini-vacation to New Mexico.

I went out twice during the night and I saw nothing. Thank God for coffee, eh? I will be downing a few cups early this morning. I may even try to get a few winks in after I get Chris settled.

Good Night

We just got back from having dinner at Claim Jumper and it was very good. I had chicken tortilla soup, meatloaf, mashed potatoes and veggies, and a huge biscuit. Elise salad, half of a chicken, baked potatoes and veggies. We downed it with a Lodi red that was great.

After dinner we stopped in at the Ethiopian place to set up reservations for the month of March. Then we stopped at the Outback for a Walla-b-darn and they were delicious and it hit the spot. We returned home and Elise began to read her book and I checked on Chris after Rosemary left for the night. It has been a good Valentines Day.

Earlier we watched a DVD that was really good and we downed a few rum and cokes. We hope that your day went well? Tomorrow is Monday so beware and enjoy the holiday.

Yesterday was a very nice day here in the Old Pueblo. We relaxed and played several games on the Wii and Elise did a extended workout. We watched our Wildcats be defeated by Oregon State, they seemed to just run out of steam in the final minutes of the game. While we watched the game we ate dinner that Elise prepared and let me tell you it was great.

We had a couple of vodkas and grapefruit prior to dinner while we were playing on the Wii, maybe that is why I was losing, eh? We had stuffed green peppers, salad and baby carrots. It was excellent and we both were stuffed. We are going to go out for breakfast with Elise's Mum as usual this morning. We are going to go to Denny's this time, we haven't been to a Denny's in a very long time.

Later in the evening after the caregiver arrives Elise and I are going to Claim Jumper for dinner and we haven't been there in a while as well. Are we slacking off or what? Well, I had better get to stepping. Have a good Sunday and a great upcoming week.

Elise and I had a very nice dinner at the Doubletree last night. We had salad and soup, prime rib, mashed potatoes, green beans, western beans, corn muffins, horseradish the hot kind, and a couple of glasses of red. We also had coffee and strawberry shortcake for dessert. We were stuffed to the gills, but we enjoyed every bit of it. After dinner we stopped at Blockbuster to get a movie for today.

We are going to watch our Wildcats play again today, Go Cats! Rosemary will be caring for Chris this evening. We are getting ready for our trip to Alamogordo, New Mexico to visit the White Sands. This will be a mini-vacation due to it is out of state and not a stay-cation. Well, I had better get this day hopping along. Have a good day and a great weekend.

We watched our Wildcats beat the Oregon Ducks last night in basketball, it was a good game. Elise is hosting a Marathon Bridge game here today and she enjoys her bridge very much. Good Night

Good Night

How did your day go? Today was a good day here in the desert, but it was a cold one. Elise and I went to the movies to see An Education and it was very good. After the movie we returned home and we played a few games on the Wii.

Elise prepared a very nice dinner of cheese crisps, tamales, refried beans, salsa, lettuce and jalapenos. We got it all down with a couple of beers. We watched a DVD called The Stepfather and it was very good with plenty of action.

After Rosemary leaves for the evening I will check on Chris and we will call it game over. Have a good evening and sleep well.

Night............

Good Night Jeanne.

Marcie, we will miss Tiger will she is away but she and her daughter will be in our prayers.

Thursday Morning

Good Morning

Mood: Content

Music listening to: Boggie Nights

How are you doing? I started the day off at 5:30am caring for Chris. Elise is up and out swimming with the fish this morning. I have my cup of coffee at the ready this morning. We have been rained on pretty good for the last two days and we have more snow on the mountains. Any plans for today?

We had a very nice dinner out last night with Elise's Mum at Red Lobster. Of course we shared a bottle of red, don't you know? After we dropped Mum off at her home we stopped in Blockbusters to get a DVD for today. After Kecia left for the night I checked on Chris and we called it a night. Elise and I are going to go to the movies this afternoon after Rosemary arrives to care for Chris.

We will return home to watch our Wildcats play basketball this evening. Go Cat's! Well, I had better get this day rolling. Have a good one.

Later................

Good Morning Jeanne.

Tiger and Marcie, how are you?

Nancy, haven't heard from you in a few days. Are you doing OK?

Hump Day

Good Morning

Mood: Blessed

Music listening to: Call Me by Al Green (classic R&B)

How are things going? It is another Hump Day, any plans? I started the day off at 5:00am caring for Chris. Elise is practicing her yodelling this morning and she has got a good tune going, smile. I am sure that she will be up and at it shortly.

I have my coffee in hand and I am hoping that today goes as planned. I want to thank everyone for the well wishes I appreciate it and you very much. I guess it is the military discipline that has been instilled in me that keeps me moving forward and I try to have a back up plan, but sometimes even that goes left.

Elise and I may go to the movies this afternoon if the caregivers show up. Hey, we are under a winter storm watch here in the Old Pueblo. We have a 80% chance of the wet stuff and the possibility of some snow below 3000 feet. Well, I had better get busy and get Chris's day moving forward. Have a good day and enjoy.

Later...............

Good Morning Jeanne, try to get some sleep today if you can.

Tiger and Marcie, let's get a move on.

Steph, thank you.

Liz, thank you.

Claudia, how are things in Texas?

Joe, enjoy your fishing trip today. Mary, get some rest.

Nancy, how are things?

Good Night

Good Night

Well, the day has just about come to a close. Elise and I bowled on the Wii and we also played baseball. Later we watched Mash on DVD with Chris and he enjoyed it a lot.

I am caring for Chris this evening and Elise is playing bridge at her Mum's. After Chris is asleep I will hit the sheets myself and I hope that this stress headache is gone by tomorrow morning. The caregiver Kecia called to say that she had gotten stuck and that was the reason she could not make it today. She said that she will be here tomorrow morning to care for Chris.

Have a good evening and a better tomorrow.

Cheers............

Good Night Jeanne.

Tiger, thank you so very much for your kindness and smoke.
