What's Poppin' How are you? I started the day off at 5:00am caring for Chris. Elise is purring this morning but she will wake up hitting the road and heading for the gym. Any plans for today?

Angelica will be here this morning to care for Chris, and Rosemary will be here this afternoon. I believe that we are going to the movies to see "Water for Elephants" this afternoon and it should be good.

We visited Bucky and Dena last night for a short while and it was good to see them. They are headed for Italy in a couple of days and I know that they will have a grand time. Erin,Bella and Cayle were there as well and it was good to see them again.

We returned home and Elise prepared baked ham for dinner with baked yams and asparagus. It was great. We got it all down with a bottle of champagne. We watched a movie on Netflix called "Delores Claiborne" with Cathy Bates and it was excellent.

After the movie ended Elise began to read a book and I watched a little TV until Angelica left for the night. I checked on Chris and I called it game over as well. Tomorrow is the marking of the beginning of another year for me hear on Terra verma, smile. This birthday is a milestone for me because many changes will be made and I am looking forward to them.

Well,I had better get busy with Chris and get him settled for Angelica. Have a great Thursday and enjoy.

I have one errand that I need to take care of today. I will get it done after Angelica arrives to care for Chris this afternoon. Other than that it is all she wrote for today, but that can change in a minute, right? The coffee is good this morning and I am thinking about a donut to go along with it.

Good Night

Good Night

Well, the day is done. How was yours? I ran my errands and I stopped by the DDC to collect our perks, and today was not a good day to be at the DDC, smile. I cared for Chris after Angelica left at 1:00pm and I will be caring for him this evening.

Elise prepared breakfast for dinner and it was very good. We had french toast, sausages, and hot coffee. Elise just left for a therapy appointment for her back and leg. She says that she is getting better daily.

I am feeling a bit down this evening and I hate it when I feel this way. Something is bothering me and I feel very alone for some reason, but I will get through it. I will hit my milestone in a few days and things will change like I have planned them.

Well, I had better get back to Chris and get him settled in for the night. Have a great evening and dream a lot.

Cheers.............

Monday's Over!

Good Night

Well Monday is just about over and it has not been a bad one. Yippee! How was your day? Chris and I rested, relaxed and watched a couple of movies today. I had to run a quick errand early this morning and that was about it.

Elise has been gone most of the day. She arrived back home at around 5:20pm and she had to get ready for her chorus group practice. It is very hard to grab a hold of her at times, smile.

I am caring for Chris this evening and I just finished grabbing something for dinner. I think I will have a beer this evening, yes a nice cold icy one, smile. Well, I had better get back to Chris. Have a great evening and sleep well.

Cheers.............

Tiger, Marcie, Jet have a good night.

Rosie, any plans for the near future?

Paula & Marty, did you get the dates and seats from us for LTW?

Sis, how are things going in the (A)? How was your cruise?

The above photos are of Elise and Chris on his standing frame, and the other is one taken at the Easter dinner.

Monday Right?

Good Morning

Mood: Taking it Slow

Music listening to: Summertime by Will Smith

Yes, it's a Monday without a doubt! ! How are you doing? I started the day off at 5:00am caring for Chris. Elise is still on the river this morning but she will be on dry land shortly to start her day. Any plans?

We had a very, very nice evening with Paula and Marty. We met up at Zemams but it was closed for Easter Sunday, so we went elsewhere. Paula and Marty suggested we go to "The Hub" in downtown Tucson and we did. I must tell you it was a treat. It is a very nice place and the food was great.

After dinner we went to Paula and Marty's home and we had a dessert that was to croak for. Paula made a chocolate cake (gluten-free) that was very good and so very moist. Along with the cake we had ice cream from "The Hub" and it was very good too. We sat and talked for awhile and then we had to leave to get back home before Rosemary left for the night. It was a very nice evening.

Earlier in the day Elise went up into the foothills for the traditional family dinner for Easter. I didn't go because I felt that it would not be she same being that Mum was not there in person. Elise returned home and she said that it went well until a SNAFU appeared and that changed the way the dinner was going. It wasn't a good scene but Elise got through it and she held her ground. Elise is relived and I am glad that she stuck to her guns. Family can be a huge pain at times, eh?

Well, any who, we survived another day and we can start another. Have a great Monday and stay safe.
Later..............

Tiger, Marcie, Jet have a wonderful day.

Loraine, thank you for the great Easter card. How did yours go?

Ross, try to stay dry down under.

Rosie, thank you for you recent email, I appreciate it very much.

Pearl,it is always good to hear from you.

Happy Easter

Good Morning,

Mood: Content

Music listening to: None

Happy Easter Everyone! I started the day off at 5:10am looking in on Chris. Elise is still floating on a log down the Rialto river, smile. Elise will be caring for Chris this morning. Any plans for today?

We are going out for breakfast this morning to a place called "Alice's" we have been there many times and the food is good. Later in the day Elise will be going up into the foothills for a traditional Easter meal with family. We have been doing this for many years now, but this one will be a bit different. Different because Mum will not be there in person, but she will be there in spirit.

I am not going this year because I know that it will not be the same without Mum. So Chris and I will stay at home and wait for Elise to return. Elise isn't feeling good about going this year as well, but she must make an appearance. I do hope that no problems will arise.

Later in the evening we will be joining Paula and Marty at Zemams for a Ethiopian dinner. We love going there for the food and the Injera. Well, last night Elise and I had dinner at the "Blue Willow" and the food was good. We sat out on the patio and that was very nice. After dinner we went to the Arizona Theatre Company to see "The Mystery of Irma Vep" it was very good. It was done by two guys who played all of the parts. They changed costumes at amazing speed and it was hilarious. The theatre was packed and we would recommend that you see this one.

After the play we returned home and I checked on Chris and we called it game over. Well, I had better go and check on Chris and Elise. Have a Happy Easter!
Later..............

Tiger, Marcie, Jet, have a good day.

Marcie, glad that you had a great birthday yesterday. Are you still stuffed?

Liz, have a great day.

Paula and Marty, what did you think of "Trying"?

Adavern, have you gone to see "Trying" yet?

How are you this morning? I started the day off at 5:00am looking in on Chris and getting him settled. Elise is still between the sheets this morning but she will be up and at the gym this morning for sure. Any plans for today?

Well, our trip to the DDC was a lot of fun,but we did not fare well at all this time. No biggie because I enjoy going there just for he fun of it. We are going to go out for dinner this evening to the "Blue Willow" we love it there and the food is good. After dinner we are going to the Arizona Theatre Company to see " The Mystery of Irma Vep" it should be very good and the reviews it got were excellent.

I believe I will give my Kia a good washing today. I guess if I do that it will rain cat's and dog's, eh? Have a great day and a better tomorrow.

Later...........

Tiger, Marcie, Jet, have a good day.

Ross, have a great one.

TGIF!!

Good Morning

Mood: Still Pissed

Music listening to: Boogie Nights by Heat Wave

TGIF! How are you doing? I started the day off at 5:00am caring for Chris. Elise is floating on a cloud this morning but she will be back on earth as soon as she gets clearance from the air traffic controller who is taking a nap as well, smile. Any plans for today?

We had a fantastic evening at Red Lobster courtesy of Toni. There were six of us total and I am sure that the bill was a hefty one. Toni takes us out for a dinner every Christmas but she was not able to this past Christmas due to health issues. Toni is a amazing lady who loves her Margaritas. Thank you Toni for lovely evening.

We returned home and I watched a little TV until Rosemary left for the night. Elise had already hit the sheets. After I checked on Chris I hit the pillows as well. After Marv arrives this evening we are going to the DDC to collect our perks. So wish us luck at the casino.

Well, I had better get busy and check on Chris. Have a great Friday and stay safe, happy and free.

Later..................

Tiger, Marcie, Jet, have a good day.

Ross, always good to hear from you and Denise.

Liz, how are you?

Sheila, thank you so much the kind words in the email that you sent to Elise. I enjoyed the time that we spent together and I am looking forward to doing it again in the near future.

Thirsty Thursday!

Good Morning

Mood: Pissed Off!!

Music listening to: Give It To Me by Rick James

How are you this morning? I started the day off at 5:15am caring for Chris. Elise is awake this morning and getting ready to go to the gym. It is a warm 63 degrees already here in the Old Pueblo. Any plans for today?

Elise and I were given quick shower yesterday evening just before we were heading out to dinner. We heard this pop and then this hissing sound and I went to check it out. The fill hose line of the toilet had ruptured and water was going everywhere. On the floor, the walls and the ceiling. It would have been a disaster if it happened while we were not at home. I turned off the water supply and we got all of the water up. I went to Home Depot this morning at 6:00am and I got a new fill line hose and I replaced it. Wow!!

We meet Nancy Glenn at "Feast" for dinner just a little bit late. It is always a pleasure to see Nancy. We enjoyed a very good dinner and we talked about what has been happening since we saw each other last in Kentucky. We shared a nice bottle of a blended red the Toscano region in Italy. We also shared a nice dessert of lemon cookies, with a lemon curd, whip cream and blackberry jam. It was delicious. We topped that off with hot coffee and we shared a Grappa desert drink. If you have to limit those Grappa drinks because they will sneak up on you quickly. Smile!

We returned home and I relieved Rosemary. I checked on Chris and we called it a night. We may go to the movies today while Angelica is here caring for Chris. We are going to Red Lobster this evening for dinner with Lois, Lee, and Toni. Toni picked Red Lobster and she is treating us all to dinner. Great huh? Can you say catfish? I can and will let me tell you.

Well, I had better get busy and get this day moving along. Have a great Thursday.

Later...................

Tiger, Marcie, Jet, how are things?

JT, the comments I am getting are not correct and I don't appreciate them at all. I have made my decision and I am sticking to it.

Flo and John, how are you?

Erika, what is new in Germany?

Hump Day!

Good Morning,

Mood: Cautious

Music listening to: Forget Me Not's by Patrice Rushin

It's Hump Day Y'all! I started the day off at 5:00am caring for Chris. Elise is still on the river this morning but she will start her day as soon as she gets stuck by a cactus, smile. Any plans for today?

Chris was supposed to have a visit from one of his case managers this morning, but he called to cancel. His mother was hospitalized last night and now she is on a heart monitor. We wish her the best and a quick return back home.

Rosemary will be here this afternoon to care for Chris. Later in the evening Elise and I will meet up with Nancy at "Feast " for dinner, it should be fun and interesting. Other than that I have no plans for today. Elise is playing bridge right now.

Well, I had better get busy and get this day popping! Have a good Hump Day and be careful out there. Chris is still a bit groggy today but I am keeping an eye on him and using post-anesthesia care precautions.

More Pics

Good Night

Good Night

Well the day has just about ended. How did your day go? Chris's visit to the dentist went well and he rested an slept most of the day. Well, he is talking up a storm right now, smile!

I didn't get to go to the DDC to pickup my perks, but it was best I stayed around the house to make sure Chris did not have any side effects. Elise's MRI was denied by our insurance company because they want a history built up on meds and physical therapy for at least 4 to 6 weeks before they approve the MRI.

Elise says that she is feeling better after her treatments today. We watched a movie on Netflix this evening called " Just ask My Children" it was very good but it was sad as well. It was about how therapist and counselors persuade you children to admit child abuse and sexual molestation by there parents or guardians.

Elise prepared breakfast for dinner. We had buckwheat pancakes, sausages, and hot coffee. Excellent! I am caring for Chris this evening and Elise is resting and catching up on her email. Well, here is a what happened on our trip to the mountains on Saturday. Have a great night!

16 Apr 11

We had breakfast at Roberts and the food was very good. We even bought a couple of tee shirts with their logo on it. We gassed up the Tacoma and we headed for the mountains in the Portal, AZ area. We arrived and Sheila and Teresa were sitting outside of the cabin relaxing. It was good to see them. We unloaded the pick-up and we joined them sitting outside.

We snacked and talked while we were waiting for Paula and Marty to arrive. Ann, Eddie and Jonny arrive and they unloaded and joined us. We began to worry about Paula and Marty because they had not made an appearance as of yet. We could not call them due to no phone service was available.

After a while Elise and I took a walk on a flat path. We did not want to chance trekking up and down hills or slipping on rocks due to Elise's back and leg might give her problems. The hike was nice and she did very well. We returned to the campsite and I became a professional Pug Herder. Sheila brought along her two Pugs and we had a good time walking around. Very nice dogs and very smart too!

Paula and Marty arrived and told us what delayed them. Now it was time to grub down. Sheila prepared great steaks, beans, salsa. Paula and Marty made a great salad and we all chowed down, and the Pugs did too! The beer was flowing and the wine and of course Jack and Coke made several appearances. It was a wonderful meal under the trees. Later we roasted marshmallows and listened to music on Sheila's IPod.

Later in the evening Elise and Ann spread their Mom's and Dad's ashes in several places in the woods and near the stream. It was a very emotional moment and many tears were flowing. We all continued to sit around the fire to rest, relax and reflect. I was getting dark and we all decide to call it a night.

17 Apr 11

I was up at 6:00am and I took a walk and I took a few photos of the area. I returned to the cabin and I started a fire in the pit and I just chilled out. I was joined by Eddie and we sat around listening to the birds sing and the bees hum. Slowly others started to stir. Sheila, then Elise and last was Ann and Jonny. We all went to Portal for breakfast. The food was very good. We returned to the campsite and we began to pack up and clean up the area. We said our goodbyes and we decided that we must to this again. It was a great trip, but short.

Above are a few pics that I took while we were in the mountains. Enjoy!

Tuesday!

Good Morning

Mood: Busy

Music listening to: Return of the Mack

How are you? I started the day off at 5:00am caring for Chris. Elise is still rowing on a river but she will be up as soon as she hits rock or two. It is a warm 66 degrees already here in the Old Pueblo. Any plans for today?

We are taking Chris to an early morning routine dental appointment at 8:00am. Angelica will be here to care for Chris at 10:00am. I have to run a few errands after Chris's appointment. I will also dash out to the DDC to pick up our perks for the week.

Well, I had better get to it. Have a good Tuesday and be careful out there.

Later..............

Tiger, Marcie, Jet have a good one.

Sheila, we had a awesome time with you over the weekend. Let's think about doing that again. Thank you.

Loraine, we had a great time in the Portal area. I will give more info on it later today with a few pics. There was a (SNAFU) with getting Elise's MRI, so she will get it this Friday.

Herman, I have finished Dad's write up and it is over 6 pages long. If you can think of anything that you would like in my book let me know. Did you find the obit and photos? Did you send them via email? I am starting on Mom's write up now.

Good Morning,

Mood: Concerned, worried, disappointed.

Music listening to: Roller Coaster by the Ohio Players

Yep, it's a Monday without a doubt. How are you doing? I started the day off at 5:00am caring for Chris. Elise is still sawing those logs this morning, but as soon as she has enough to build a cabin with she will start her day. Any plans?

I have to run a couple of errands today but other than that it should be a slow day, at least I hope so. We had a great time in the Portal, AZ area up in the mountains on Saturday. I will give more on that in our next blog posting.

It is warming up here in the Old Pueblo and the shorts and tees are coming out in droves. As a matter of fact Chris will be sporting some today. It is supposed to hit 90 degrees today, we will see. Well, here are some photos of our stay-cation from last week. We stayed at the Old Blue House near the U of A. It is a B&b and it was great. We really enjoyed it there and we are going to return in the very near future.

Well, I had better get to it and get Chris up and get him outside to take in some sun. Have a good day and stay safe.

Later..............

Tiger, Marcie, Jet have a great day.

Elise is still asleep but she will be up shortly. She had a rough night of tossing and turning and getting up several times. We will be heading out for our overnight camping trip at around 9:00am this morning. It should be fun but I will have to keep an eye on Elise and keep her from overdoing things. While we are there I will be writing things for my book that I am working on. I have quite a bit about my Dad and i am waiting on input from my brother Herman and a few photos. Well, I had better get to it. No laptop on this one but plenty of Jack and Coke to get the old brain cells working. Have a great Saturday. Cheers.............. Tiger, Marcie,Jet have a good one. JT, I haven't heard anything from you about electric company. Loraine, have a good day. Flo and John, stay safe. Ross, have a good weekend. When it rains it pour, eh?
