Howdy! It's Hot!

Howdy!!

How is your Monday going so far? It is starting to heat up here in the Old Pueblo. I believe that Chris and I will take in some of the heat a little later. I think I will hit the hammock for awhile to toast a bit. I also need to hook up the mister for Chris so he can cool down while he is in the backyard.

Well, here is a bit more about our stay in San Diego. Enjoy......Jessie and Elise

18 Jun 12

We got up at around 8:00pm and we got ourselves ready to start the day. We has a nice breakfast at "Alcapulco" the food was very good. Elise go  huge bowl of oatmeal with the works. I got rum soaked raisin french toast, eggs and ham. It was very good and we had plenty of coffee.

We returned to our room to get ready to head out for the mall. It is an overcast day and the temperature is only 62 degrees. We may go to a Imax movie while we are there.

Elise wants to buy some new earrings. She lost one somewhere here in San Diego. We walked around Old Town looking in the shops and stores. We walked Old Town for two hours and Elise bought her earrings and we picked up three tee-shirts. One for each of us and one for Bobby. Elise also bought a bear claw necklace for me. It is very nice.

We took all of our purchases up to the room and we hit the Prius and we headed for the mall, near Carmel, CA. We hit the Imax to see "Promethues" in 3D. It was very good and the effects were great even the seats moved and vibrated. Of course we downed some popcorn and sodas.

We returned to Old Town and we took a short break. Elise began to read the book she brought along. I checked email to see what was going on. We downed a few Jack and Cokes.

We took off in search of a place for dinner. We went to" Miguel's" and we got there in time to get a good seat facing the center of Old Town. We got to people watch and we both love to do that when we are on a vacation.

Our appetites were not demanding so we ate lightly. Smile! We both a Millionaire Margarita and it was very good, yes it was but pricey. We started off with some chips and salsa that was pretty good. It was not spicy enough for us so we asked for a hotter batch. We got the salsa sampler again, and let me tell you out of the four sampler two were mild and tame. The remaining two were as hot as the sun. Wow!!

We were burning up and water does not help at all. We ordered another margarita. This time we got the 2 for one house margarita that was very good too! It took several hours for our palette to cool down. It was great!

Elise ordered the fish tacos, they were loaded with tons of fish. Elise got an order of guacamole and it did her in (Burp!). I got the shrimp stuff with crab and wrapped in bacon and covered with a jalapeno cheese sauce. I also got a bowl of (Albondigas) it was excellent! A great evening at "Miguel's"

We returned to our room and watched a little TV before we called it a night. Oops, almost forgot. While we were eating breakfast at Ihop with Johnny on Father's Day, he decided to down a few sips of Tabasco right from the bottle and he said that is nothing.

So we bought him a bottle of "Ghost Pepper Salsa". I bet he will not down that without running around in circles. We gave it to him yesterday while he was here with us for a short visit. He was on his way home to Bisbee. Wait a minute I think I hear him yelling and screaming now, smile!
