TGIF Happy New Years Eve

Good Morning

Mood: Anticipating

Music listening to: So Right So Wrong

TGIF! Happy New Year's Eve. How are you doing? I started the day off at 4:00am due to a car horn was going off maybe due to the cold. It was our friends Paula and Marty's car that we are keeping until they return from Brazil. So I had to brave out into the 24 degrees to stop the horn from blowing. Since I was awake now I just stayed up.

It woke Elise up and she looked out the door while I was taking care of the horn problem. As soon as the problem was taken care of Elise was once again giving her version of her horn sounding off, smile. Any plans for today? The coffee is extra good this morning and I think that I will have a grapefruit for breakfast. Sounds good and filling doesn't it?

We had a good time at the casino yesterday but luck was not with us at all, but we had fun. We returned home and Elise fixed BLT's for dinner and they were great. We downed a few glasses of red and we watched "The A Team" on DVD and it was pretty good. After that we worked on a New York Times crossword puzzle, they are really hard. After the caregiver left we called it a night and I let the dogs inside out of he cold.

We are staying closed to home this New Year's Eve. Elise going to prepare some black eyed peas, ham and cornbread for our New Year's Eve and Day dinner. We have two bottles of Gruet champagne chilling in the fridge to celebrate the coming of 2011. Of course we will raise our glasses for all of our family and many friends wishing that this year will be a better one for us all.

Well, I had better get busy with Chris. Have a great day and a fantastic evening everyone. Happy New Year!!

Good Morning

Mood: Soaked

Music listening to: Tired Of Being Alone by Al Green (classic R&B)

We are being rained on right now and snow is in the forecast. How are you? I started the day of at 5:ooam listening to the sound of rain and wind. I am caring for Chris and downing gallons of coffee, smile. Elise is up and out swimming this morning and she was pondering on taking the Tacoma instead of the Prius. Any plans for today?

Chris and Elise will be getting a massage this morning and Angelica will be here soon to care for Chris. This will allow me to run a few errands before we get flooded out or snowed in, smile. Elise and I are going to go to the movies this afternoon and later we will go to the casino to pick up our perks before they expire. Wish us luck, eh?

We saw the movie " The Kings Speech" and it was fantastic. It should get a award nomination many times. Collin Firth was excellent. The theatre was packed and that surprised us both. Our friend Shoo Shoo was there sitting behind us and it was good to see her out and about. If you get a chance go see this one you will not be let down.

After the movie we returned home and we downed a martini and we played a game on the laptop. Elise fixed a very good dinner last night. We had tamales that Angelica made, lettuce, tomatoes, salsa, and jalapenos. We downed it all with couple of beers. We watched our Wildcats play in the Alamo Bowl and they got beat by OSU. I could not watch the whole game it was that bad.

I checked on Chris and I called it a night. Well you have a great day and stay safe.

Later..............

Tiger, Marcie, Jet, send us a row boat, please!!

Shoo Shoo, it was good to see you yesterday.

Loraine, have a good one.

It's Humpty Hump Day!!

Good Morning

Mood: Grateful

Music listening to: Whatever Will Be by Lisa-Lisa

Hey it's Humpty Hump Day! I started the day off at 5:15am caring for Chris. Elise is still on a lake this morning and her engine stalled but she is working to get it purring again so she can dock and start her day. Any plans for today?

The coffee is good this morning and I am thinking about a sausage biscuit or two, and more coffee of course. We may go to the movies this afternoon after the caregiver arrives to look after Chris. Hey the New Year will be here in a few day, so any resolutions? I am going to tighten up my cash output a bit more this year and work toward my return back to Europe for about a two week visit. I would like to get back to Germany and Italy to visit my old stomping ground. It is going to take some doing but I know that I will get it done, smile.

We are getting ready for our cold front that is suppose to be her tomorrow evening with 24 degree temperatures and some rain today. Well, I had better get busy and bust a move. Have a good Hump Day and enjoy.

Good Night

Good Night

How are you this evening? It has been a very good but slow day and I am not complaining one bit. I got my errands taken care of and Chris and I watched TV and we relaxed.

Elise prepared homemade waffles for breakfast with sausages and plenty of hot coffee. We are bracing for a 40% chance of rain for tomorrow and a deep drop in temperatures on Thursday. Our low is supposed to be 24 degrees and yes that is cold for us desert dwellers.

Well, I had better get back to Chris. He is watching TV and something he saw or heard has him laughing up a storm. Have a wonderful evening and get ready for another Hump Day.

Prost...............

Tiger, Marcie, Jet sleep well.

Loraine, glad that you liked the photos.

Monna, always good to hear from you.

Steph, have a good evening.

How are you doing today? I started the day off at 5:20am caring for Chris. Elise is still cloud jumping this morning with the New Years Day baby, but she will let him be as soon as she falls down to earth to start her day. Any plans for today?

I have to run an errand this morning out on the air base as soon as Angelica arrives to care for Chris this morning. I have to pick up a few things for New Years dinner. You know some black eyed peas, ham or ham hocks for the traditional lucky dinner. We already have a couple of bottles of champagne chilling in the fridge. I can hear the popping of a bottle right now, smile.

Hey the coffee is so good this morning that I will have to pour another cup shortly. Do you have any special plans for New Years Eve? We always stay home because it is safer. We have been invited to a New Years Day party and I am sure that we will attend it. The New Year is going to bring some changes for us and we hope that they will be for the better.

Well, I had better get busy. Have a good Tuesday and enjoy the day.

Monday Is Over!!

Good Night

Well, Monday has just about come to close. It has been a very quiet one and that is always a plus. Chris and I relaxed for the most part of the day. I got my errands taken care of early this morning.

Elise prepared soup for dinner and we watched a few episodes of Mash on DVD with Chris, it is his favorite show. I am caring for Chris this evening and Elise is playing bridge at her Mom's.

I will post a few photos of our trip to Bisbee tomorrow. I didn't take to many so I will post the best ones. Well, I had better get back to Chris. Have a great evening and sleep well.

Cheers....................

Tiger,Marcie,Jet nap time.

Monday Again!!

Good Morning

Mood: Cautious

Music listening to: Can't Get Next To You by The Temptations (classic R&B)

Lookout it's Monday Again. How are you doing? I started the day off at 5:30am caring for Chris. Elise is still riding one of Santa's reindeer this morning but as soon as she stops at a watering hole she will start her day. Smile! Any plans for today?

The coffee is very good this morning. Are you all over the Christmas excitement? We are winding down here in the Old Pueblo and anticipating the New Year. Elise and I went to the movies to see "True Grit" and after we bought our ticket there was no seats to be had in the theatre. So we saw "The Little Fockers" and it was hilarious and it was a packed house as well. We will go to see "True Grit" one day this week.

After the movies we went to the Cheesecake Factory for dinner and their menu is huge and it was a lot people there. We ordered a bottle of Chianti since we have not had any in quite a while. It was a Ruffino and it was very good. I ordered the Salisbury steak special and Elise got a huge plate of nachos because she didn't want to order a fish entree. The menu did not offer much that she could eat due to her gluten allergy. We will not be going back there any time soon, but the food was good.

We returned home and we watched TV and worked on crosswords. Elise ran out of steam and she hit the sheets to read. I watched TV until I went to check on Chris and Angelica. After Angelica left I called it a night too! We listened to another side of a book on tape that ended the evening.

I have to run a errand this morning but other than that no happenings are planned. Have a great day and stay safe.

Later...............

Tiger, Marcie, Jet have a safe Monday.

Loraine, what is up?

Jane and John, have a safe get away.

Shoo Shoo, are you back yet?

Good Night

It has been a pretty good day and now it has come to a close. I got Chris all packed and loaded for Bisbee. Chris and Elise got there massage this morning and I completed all of my errands.

Elise left this afternoon with her Mom headed for Bisbee. I am caring for Chris this evening and all is going well. I will pack a small suitcase for me later on tonight after Chris is asleep.

We will leave for Bisbee sometime tomorrow afternoon. We will be staying at a lodge in Bisbee until sometime on Saturday evening. We will meet up with Elise at her sister's home for dinner. I got a call from Elise from Bisbee and her sister Anne is sick and not feeling well at all. That means that Elise is going to be extra busy getting this done.

Well, I had better get back to watching TV. Have a great night and sleep well.
Cheers...........

Tiger, Marcie, Jet, have a wonderful evening.

Loraine, enjoy your son's visit and let us know about the movie.

It rained most of the night and it is still raining now. We are under a flood advisory here in the Old Pueblo. Go figure!

Any plans for today? I will get Chris all packed for our trip to Bisbee and I will load up the van with my suitcase as well. I have to run to my office today instead of tomorrow because they will be closed tomorrow. I am thinking sausage biscuit but I am all out, so I guess it will be a couple pieces of toast, smile.

Elise and I went to the movies yesterday and we saw a movie that was excellent and it should get a academy award or two. It was called "The Black Swan" with Natalie Portman, it was mesmerising and she did all of the dancing herself. We loved it and we recommend that you go see it.

Well, I had better get busy I have a lot of things to get done. Angelica will be here this morning so I can myself together. Chris will be getting a massage this morning at around 10:00am from Pam. Have a good day and be careful out there.

Music listening to: Get On The Dance Floor by Zap and Rogers

Hump Day is here. How are you this morning? I started the day off at 5:00am caring for Chris. Elise is floating in the clouds this morning but she may be awakened soon because we may get rained on here in the Old Pueblo. A thunder boomer will get her moving right along. Any plans for today?

I have to run a few errands and I have to wash Chris's van today or maybe if it rains I won't have to. I am going to pack up Chris's travel bag for his trip to Bisbee that we will be taking on Friday. The coffee is good this morning and I am thinking about donuts again. Do I have any left? Yes, I do.

We are going to watch our Wildcats play basketball this evening. Go Cat's. We may go to the movies this afternoon after Angelica arrives to care for Chris. It is another warm morning I am guessing around 52 degrees right now. Well, I had better get busy. Have a good day out there.

Steph, take it slow and easy.

Mary in PA, I am ready to collect on that mistletoe.

Here is the final installment on our trip to Puerto Penasco:

17-Dec-10

We got up at around 8:30am and we got showered and dressed. It is very chilly! My side was hurting a bit from walking on the beach yesterday because it inclines in spots. Elise's neck is hurting as well. It's hell getting old, eh?

We played one of the games on our laptop for about an hour and that was fun. We went on another walk this morning but not on the beach but through the housing areas. It is very foggy outside and my side is really hurting but I must keep on keeping on, smile.

We go back to the beach house and we began to pack up to head for Tucson. We departed at 12:00pm. We continued to listen to our book on tape. We stopped in Why, AZ for gas and a few snacks to nibble on. We arrived back in Tucson at around 4:00pm and we unpacked the Tacoma and we looked in on Chris and Rosemary and all was just fine.

We then left for dinner at the Outback. We had a good little wait because it was packed. After we got seated we ordered some vino and we placed our meal order. Elise got the filet with grilled lobster tails and a baked potato and salad. I got the sirloin with grilled lobster tails and a baked potato. It was very good. For dessert we shared a Walla-be Darned that was very good and we always add a little red to it make it fantastic. We left and we returned home and I checked on Chris and Marv and we called it a night. It was a very nice ending to a great trip to Mexico. We hope to return soon. Our next trip will be to Douglas, AZ for a couple of days in January 2011.

Good Night

Good Night

How are you this evening? It has been a good day here in the Old Pueblo, but I have been feeling a little down in the dumps today. I have a feelings of uncertainty of what the New Year will bring and what changes I may have to make. I know we all have them, but it is really nagging me today, smile.

After Angelica left for the day I cared for Chris. We took it easy and we took a walk and we watched TV. Elise returned home and she fixed breakfast for dinner that was really good. We had french toast, sausages and of course hot coffee. We watched a few episodes of Mash with Chris and he enjoyed that a lot.

I am caring for Chris this evening and Elise is on her puter doing some Genealogy research for her Mom. Well, I had better get back to Chris. Have a peaceful evening.

Cheers............

Tiger, Marcie, Jet, stay safe.

Loraine,I am glad that you liked the mistletoe placement, smile.

How are you? I started the day off at 5:00am caring for Chris. Elise is very silent this morning and that means she is in a very deep sleep or in the Grand Canyon, smile. Any plans for today?

I have to run a few errands this morning as soon as Angelica arrives to care for Chris. It is a nice 55 degrees this morning and clear. The coffee is good this morning and I am thinking about a donut or two that Elise got for me yesterday.

Well, I had better get this day started. Have a good one. Here is a bit more about our trip to Mexico.

Later..................

Tiger, Marcie, Jet let's wake up sisters.

Monna, the movie came back saying that it was too large, sorry.

Loraine, what is up for today?

Jane and John, have a good one.

Ross, glad that you liked the movie.

Erika, how are things in Germany?

16-Dec-10

We got up at 9:00am and we slept very well. It was a bit chilly during the night but we had lots of blanket that worked very well. We dressed and we went downstairs and Dena offered us oatmeal. I declined but Elise had a bowl full. We both had coffee and we began to work on a crossword puzzle. We finished it in record time so that means we are getting better or smarter, smile.

We decided to go for a walk on the beach. We walked for about an hour or a little more. It was chilly and windy, it was a good thing we had on sweatshirts and jeans. We noticed a couple of houses on the beach that were for sale. One was $375,000.00 and another was $675,000.00. The later was a 3 part condo so you could have rented part of it out. We were going to rush right down to the realtor since the houses were so cheap!! Smiling and laughing.

We returned from our walk and now I felt like eating so I has the leftover pork chop and it was very good. Elise had a few Frito's and some of the tuna dip that was leftover that Bucky did not eat last night. It is very good stuff, I must say. We just lounged around all day and we took a nap. Taking a nap is very foreign to Elise and I and it felt great. When we got back up we found Dena and Bucky stretched out on the couch. Dena was reading on her Kindle and Bucky was counting zzzzzz's. Elise and I opened a bottle of red and had a glass.

Later we played three games of "Wizard' and that was a lot of fun, even I won a game, smile. After the game Bucky prepared dinner. We had shrimp, polenta, garlic, onions in a hot spicy red sauce that was fantastic. I love polenta!! Of course we had plenty of vino. After dinner we watched a DVD called "The Fantastic Mr. Fox. Elise and I had seen it before and Bucky was totally lost about it's content.

After the movie we called it a night. Another good day in Mexico.

Well, another Monday has come and gone. It has been a pretty calm one I must say. Chris and I wrapped presents this afternoon and then we rested and watched TV.

Elise prepared some very nice soup for dinner. We watched Mash on DVD with Chris while we ate dinner. I am caring for Chris this evening and Elise is playing bridge at her Mom's.

Well, I had better get back to Chris. I could not post the movie on our blog due to it was too large. I sent it out via email as an attachment. If you did not get it please let us know and we will get it sent to you. Have a great evening.

Cheers............

How are you this Monday morning? I started the day off at 5:30am caring for Chris. Elise is still climbing Mt. Lemmon this morning and as soon as she runs into a bear or two she will start her day running, smile. Any plans for today?

Chris will be visited by one of his case manager's early this morning so I have to make sure that he is ready. The coffee is good and hot this morning and I am thinking about a sausage biscuit to go along with it. I was posting to our blog last night and the site was not working right so I will post this morning about our trip to Puerto Penasco,Mexico.

We had a very nice breakfast out with Mum yesterday at IHOP. Later in the day we watched our Wildcats beat North Carolina State at basketball, a good game. Later in the evening after Rosemary arrived to care for Chris we picked up Mum and she treated us to dinner at Marie Callender's one of her favorite places to eat because she loves their chicken pot pies. We returned home and Elise hit the sheets to read and I watched TV until Rosemary left for the night. I checked on Chris and I called it a night as well. We listened to the last part of a book on tape and we started another one.

Well, I had better get busy with Chris. Have a great day and take it slow and easy, it's a Monday!

Herman, how are things in St. Louis? We are heading for Bisbee for a couple of days to see Elise's sister over the holidays.

Sis,how are things going in the ( A)?

Here is a some of what went on in Puerto Penasco,Mexico.

15-Dec-10

We left home at round 8:15am,but we we did not start out right away. We got a call from Bucky saying that had a business matter to take care of before he and Dena could leave. So we stopped for breakfast at Gus Balone's, it was packed with people and we had to wait for a table to open up. After we were seated we ordered coffee, of course. Elise ordered eggs, ham and potatoes. I ordered eggs, pork chops and potatoes. We received our orders and my pork chops were huge the biggest that I have ever seen at Gus's. Elise's ham was huge and it was very good.

After breakfast we stopped on the air base to get gas for the Tacoma. Later we stopped at a Circle K to get a fountain drink for Elise and we were on our way. We listened to a book on tape called "The Naked Detective" and it is a good one. We stopped in Why, Arizona to get Mexican insurance and we filled up the Tacoma before we crossed into Mexico. We got to their beach home and they must to have passed us while we had stopped for insurance because they were there unpacking their SUV.

We unloaded and and we got our room in order and of course to complete that task we had to have a Jack and Coke or two. Elise and I we know Jack very well, smile. We joined Bucky and Dena out on the patio and we talked and we gazed out at the Sea of Cortez. We began to eat some of my famous tuna/jalapeno dip and Bucky opened up a bottle of red to go along with it. Buckey was drinking a white.

After sitting out on the patio for a while Bucky went inside and he began to prepare dinner for us, he is a good cook. He called us in to dinner and what a treat that was. We had pasta with fish and calamari, and fresh grated cheese. It was fantastic. After dinner we played Hearts and we talked about politics, which is not a good subject to bring up due to so many mixed beliefs. It was headed toward a heated discussion so we veered away from subject. We laughed and we argued and it made for a great evening. We consumed at least 5 bottle of vino during the night so you can imagine we were having a grand time.

Dena wanted to set up a fishing trip for tomorrow but the sea was rough and Elise does not do well when the boat is sitting still and rocking so to I declined because I wanted Elise to come along. We may go back in the near future to see the whales at sea. We called it a night.

I will try to post a movie that I took looking out on the Sea of Cortez if it is not to large to post. Our first day in Mexico was a blast.

Good Night/Goodbye Monday!

Good Night

Well this Monday has just about come to a close. It went by fairly well with no mishaps at all. Are Monday's changing? No way! Chris's doctor's appointment went very well. He got a little fresh with nurse but he always does when she is there. He turns into a octopus and he loves it. Lucky guy!

I go all of my errands taken care of this morning at my office. Chris and I watched TV and rested today after we returned from the doctor's office. Elise prepared breakfast for dinner this evening. We had pancakes, sausages, and hot coffee. Very good!

We discussed what to pack for our next mini-vacation. We are going to Rocky Point, Mexico to stay on the beach for a couple of days with Bucky and Dena. We will head out on Wednesday morning and return on Saturday. I will make a batch of my famous tuna dip to take along with us. It should be fun and I plan on resting a lot.

Afternoon,

How is it going? We are good here. Elise just left to do a few chores for her Mom. I am caring for Chris. Hey, I forgot to mention that I also had a lemon drop martini last night. So I must be still feeling the effects of it today, smile.

We had a very nice breakfast with Mum this morning. The food was good and we were surprised when I went to pay the check. Come to fine out it had already been paid by someone else. We tried to figure out how this happened and it is still confusing. The table that was next to us accidentally paid our bill and they did not catch it. So we paid there bill and it only came to $15.00 minus $5.00 with the coupon that I had we only paid $10.00 for our meal. The other patron paid almost $30.00 for there meal. What a way to start the day, eh?

Well, I had better get back to Chris. Chat at you later.

Cheers...........

Loraine, do you remember the Barrio? Well, it is now called Downtown. It is a nice place and the food is good.

Sunday!!

Good Morning

Mood: Wide Awake 4:00am

Music listening to: None

How are you? I started the day off at 4:00am way too early. I have been tossing and turning so I decided to just get up. Elise is purring and every now and again she changes gears or double clutches and then she is back to purring. She will be up in a bit to care for Chris.

I think I will put on the kettle and get some coffee to brewing. We are going to go out for breakfast with Mum this morning to the Village Inn. After Rosemary arrived last night we left for a place called "Downtown" it is a restaurant not far from the Arizona Theatre Company.

We stopped in for a drink and a light dinner. We sat at the bar and I ordered a Mojito and Elise ordered a glass of red. We looked over the Happy Hour menu and we made our choices. We both had spicy lamb's tongue tacos ( yes you heard right), and they were delicious let me tell you. We also had a bowl of black beans with chorizo slices and pineapple wedges, served with warm tortillas. Can you say too good? We also had a corn puff filled with cheese and carnita's ( pulled pork) it was great and gluten-free. It was a very good light dinner and the place was packed with people standing at the door waiting to be seated and served.

We left and walked over to the Arizona Theatre Company to see "Guthrie's American Song. It was a musical tribute about the life of Woodie Guthrie that was well done. The singers were outstanding and they deserved the standing ovation at the shows end. Excellent performance.

We returned home and I checked on Chris and we called it night. Well, I had better get some coffee and perk up a bit. We may go to the movies this evening to see the latest Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp movie called " The Tourist" it looks pretty good besides I think Angelina is a (Hottie), smile. We are also planning on going to Rocky Point,Mexico for a couple of days next week if all goes well. Have a wonderful Sunday and lookout Monday is coming.

Later................
