It's The Weekend!! WooHoo!

Good  Morning

Mood: Hopeful

Music listening to: Let's Get It On by Marvin Gaye (classic R&B)

The  weekend is here! How are you? I started the day off at 5:00am caring for Chris. Elise is not in her cave this morning and I don't blame her. It is 90 degrees already. It is supposed to be 111 degrees today. To hot to go outside at all. Any plans for today?

The coffee is good and I am thinking about a bowl of oats. We are going to plant some flowers and re-pot some tomatoes plants this morning before it starts to cook outside. John will be here this morning to care for Chris.

Elise and I played golf, tennis, and bowling yesterday on the Wii. John arrived to care for Chris and we went to Cody's Beef and Bean for dinner. We both got the T-Bone special and we shared a carafe of Burgundy. It was a very good meal.

Elise and  I are going to venture out to the DDC this evening after Rosie arrives to care for Chris. We have not been there in awhile and we have forfeited a lot of perks and a night's stay there as well. Wish us luck at the casino so we can win big, smile! We are getting low on vino and we have to stay well stocked, smile!

Well, I had better get hydrated and get ready to plant flowers and tomatoes. Have a great weekend and stay cool if you can.
Later..........Jessie & Elise

Howdy! It's Hot!

Howdy!!

How is your Monday going so far? It is starting to heat up here in the Old Pueblo. I believe that Chris and I will take in some of the heat a little later. I think I will hit the hammock for awhile to toast a bit. I also need to hook up the mister for Chris so he can cool down while he is in the backyard.

Well, here is a bit more about our stay in San Diego. Enjoy......Jessie and Elise

18 Jun 12

We got up at around 8:00pm and we got ourselves ready to start the day. We has a nice breakfast at "Alcapulco" the food was very good. Elise go  huge bowl of oatmeal with the works. I got rum soaked raisin french toast, eggs and ham. It was very good and we had plenty of coffee.

We returned to our room to get ready to head out for the mall. It is an overcast day and the temperature is only 62 degrees. We may go to a Imax movie while we are there.

Elise wants to buy some new earrings. She lost one somewhere here in San Diego. We walked around Old Town looking in the shops and stores. We walked Old Town for two hours and Elise bought her earrings and we picked up three tee-shirts. One for each of us and one for Bobby. Elise also bought a bear claw necklace for me. It is very nice.

We took all of our purchases up to the room and we hit the Prius and we headed for the mall, near Carmel, CA. We hit the Imax to see "Promethues" in 3D. It was very good and the effects were great even the seats moved and vibrated. Of course we downed some popcorn and sodas.

We returned to Old Town and we took a short break. Elise began to read the book she brought along. I checked email to see what was going on. We downed a few Jack and Cokes.

We took off in search of a place for dinner. We went to" Miguel's" and we got there in time to get a good seat facing the center of Old Town. We got to people watch and we both love to do that when we are on a vacation.

Our appetites were not demanding so we ate lightly. Smile! We both a Millionaire Margarita and it was very good, yes it was but pricey. We started off with some chips and salsa that was pretty good. It was not spicy enough for us so we asked for a hotter batch. We got the salsa sampler again, and let me tell you out of the four sampler two were mild and tame. The remaining two were as hot as the sun. Wow!!

We were burning up and water does not help at all. We ordered another margarita. This time we got the 2 for one house margarita that was very good too! It took several hours for our palette to cool down. It was great!

Elise ordered the fish tacos, they were loaded with tons of fish. Elise got an order of guacamole and it did her in (Burp!). I got the shrimp stuff with crab and wrapped in bacon and covered with a jalapeno cheese sauce. I also got a bowl of (Albondigas) it was excellent! A great evening at "Miguel's"

We returned to our room and watched a little TV before we called it a night. Oops, almost forgot. While we were eating breakfast at Ihop with Johnny on Father's Day, he decided to down a few sips of Tabasco right from the bottle and he said that is nothing.

So we bought him a bottle of "Ghost Pepper Salsa". I bet he will not down that without running around in circles. We gave it to him yesterday while he was here with us for a short visit. He was on his way home to Bisbee. Wait a minute I think I hear him yelling and screaming now, smile!

It's A Monday! Right?

Good Morning

Mood: Weird!

It's a Monday!! How are you doing? I started the day off at 5:00am caring for Chris. Elise is not in her cave this morning so she may be up soon. Any plans for today?

The coffee is good and I am looking at the box with the oats. NO plans for today as of yet. Elise is going to venture out this morning to play  bridge. It will be her first day out without me keeping an eye on her. We will see how the day progresses.

Oops, I almost forgot to mention that Ann, Eddie and Johnny stopped by before they left for Bisbee. They just returned from San Diego and the rest of the Police/Fireman's Games.

The good news (great news) is that Sara competed in the Hammer event and she took first place. Way to go Sara! Not only that she bettered here throws from last years event in New York. Erik and Sara made us proud! The pic up top is of Sara and the Hammer. This pic was not taken at the games.

Mood: Restless

Music listening to: Rock With You by Bobby Brown

It's a Sunday! How are you? I started the day off at 4:50am caring for Chris. Elise is sleeping soundly this morning. Any plans for today?

The coffee is good and hot this morning. We were going to go out to breakfast this morning with Bobby to the "Eclectic Cafe" but I gave Bobby a call to cancel. I think that Elise needs a bit more sleep and rest.

She is still has quite a bit of swelling and as soon as she wakes up I will get her ice packs and anti-bi meds ready. Rosie will be here this evening to care for Chris.

Here is what went on in San Diego on our second day there. Have a great Sunday.

Shoo and Stu, haven't heard from you in awhile.

Herman, how are things in St. Louis?

17 Jun 12

We were up very early this morning. We figured that it would take is at least 45 minutes to get to the games site. We arrived at the site a little before 7:00am. We are in need of coffee and some breakfast.

We met up with Ann, Eddie, Sara, Erik and Johnny. It is going to be a very long day. We spent all day watching Sara, Erik and others compete in the games.

Erik and Sara did track and field events, bench press, swimming, obstacle course, pull ups, shot put, and rope climbing. They came in second and they improved on the times from last year.

Johnny was complaining because he wanted to go to the beach. Man were we getting hungry. We took Johnny and we headed for Ihop for breakfast. We had to wait for about 20 minutes before we could be seated. Yep, we forget it was Father's Day and the place had a line out the door.

We got seated and we devoured our meal and it was very good. We returned to the games and we were there until 5:00pm and the games were still going on. We were pooped and you can imagine how Erik and Sara felt.

We go back to our room and we hit the Jack and Cokes. We snacked on popcorn as well our favorite snack food. We ventured out to get some dinner. We went to the "Acapulco" that is part of the hotel. There were quite a few people there enjoying a meal.

We started off with a margarita and some salsa and chips. The margaritas were very good, but not as good as the ones at "Coyote Cafe". Elise ordered tacos and I ordered enchiladas. We both had rice and beans along with the meal. It was very good and we ordered a second margarita.

After our dinner we returned to our room and we had Jacks all around, smile! Elise read for awhile and I checked my email to see what was going on. We watched HBO for awhile and then we called it a night. It was a very, very long day and we were pooped. Above are a few pics of the games that Erik and Sara competed in.

Buona Sera!

Buona Sera! How did your day go? Did it end well? It has been a very busy day for me. I got everything that I had planned for today. We are ...
