Good Night

Well, the day has drawn to a close and it has been a different kind of day. Chris and I had a very good morning of rest and relaxation. Elise spent the morning playing bridge and working out at the gym.

My nephew Jerome set me a text message saying that the had just conquered Camelback Mountain in Phoenix. He said that it was a very good workout and I told him to make sure that they are well hydrated.

My brother Herman called from St. Louis and we talked about Jerome and Kesha's visit and what we did yesterday with them. He agreed with me the our brother would be proud of his son and his accomplishments. We also talked about his daughter Melodie who just graduated from Vanderbilt and now she is thinking about grad school, just like our JT is doing. I gave Herman our nephew's phone number and he said that he will give him a call.

Chris and I were relaxing and Elise got home and said that we were to meet Ann and crew at Hometown Buffet at 2:00pm. So we got Chris loaded up in his van and we picked up Mum and we went to meet Ann. We got there and no Ann, so we got a table and I called to see where they were. They arrived about 10 minutes after I made the call. Everyone ate and I didn't because I had eaten already because at around noon or so I got hungry and I thought that I had better eat due to you never know how things will go when you have to wait on Ann and crew.

We returned home and Chris and I watched the Band of Brothers a Memorial Day Special on TV. I am now caring for Chris this evening and Elise is playing bridge at her Mom's. I got a text from Jerome stating that he and Kesha had a very nice time yesterday with us here in Tucson. Well, I had better get to work with Chris, he is chatting up a storm right now.

Happy Memorial Day! Please remember what this day is about and thank a Vet today. I started the day off at 5:15am caring for Chris. Elise is chasing Gila monsters this morning and has soon as she catches one she will get her day started.

Any plans for today? Nothing planned as of yet and that is a good thing. Yesterday was a very good day indeed. We had a great breakfast with Mum at the Egg Connection. After we returned home the door bell rung and it was Jerome and Kesha. It was very good to see them, I haven't seem my nephew since he was 10 years old and he looks great. Kecia his wife is beautiful and very kind.

We spent the whole day with them in and around Tucson. Kecia is caring for Chris until 5:00pm and Rosemary will take over for the rest of the evening. We took Jerome and Kesha to the Tucson Desert Museum and that was a lot of fun but a bit hot when we walked along the outside trails. After that we went to the Desert Diamond Casino and we played slots for a while and we had a few drinks.

After that we returned home and we kicked back for a bit and watched TV and talked. Jerome called his Mom back in Michigan and Elise and I got to talk to here for a bit. We left for Zemems Ethiopian restaurant where we met up with Paula and Marta. I made the introductions while we waited for Elise and Mum to arrive. Elise made the intros to Mum and we opened a bottle of red while we waited for our food to arrive. We ordered a rather large amount of food and it was very,very good. We all had a good time at Zemems. We said our good-byes to Paula and Marty and to Jerome and Kesha. They were headed back up to Phoenix and they will be there until Wednesday. They are planning on going to Sedona area and to visit the Grand Canyon prior to their departure back to Georgia. I must say that seeing Jerome really brought back a lot of memories for me. It was a good day and my brother would be proud to see all that his son has accomplished, because I am.

I will post some photos of yesterday's events in future postings. I had better get back to work with Chris. Have a good day and stay happy, healthy and sound.

How are you? I started the day off at 5:15am looking in on Chris and getting him settled. Elise will be caring for Chris this morning as soon as her ship docks this morning. There is a slight fog this morning and the fog horn is giving out a warning, smile.

Any plans for today? Well, Jerome and Kesha made it to Arizona and we will be spending the day with them. It will be good to see Jerome I haven't seen him since he was around 10 or 11 years old. I am sure my nephew has a lot of stories to tell. The coffee is good this morning and Elise got a box of donuts for me yesterday and they are good.

Elise and I went to the movies yesterday to see Casino King and it was very, very good and it showed what some politicians will do to get money. Greed abounds!! After that we returned home and we had BLT's for dinner and they were great. We watched our Phoenix Sun play basketball and they lost to the LA Lakers. After that Elise fixed up a batch of Margarita's and they were very good. We played a game of Wizard and yes I lost, smile.

After Rosemary left for the evening I checked on Chris and we called it a night. We are going out to breakfast with Mum this morning to the Egg Connection. Have a good Sunday.

How are you? I started the day off at 5:15am looking in on Chris and getting him settled. Elise will be caring for Chris as soon as she returns from swimming with the fishes, she is very happy that she can get back to her routine. Any plans for today?

The coffee is good no matter how hot it gets outside, eh? We stayed in last night and Elise fixed cheese crisps, salsa, jalapenos, tamales and of course we washed it all done with a few Cervesas. Prior to dinner we had a very nice martini that hit the spot, let me tell you.

We watched the movie Invictus starring Morgan Freeman and Matt Damon. It was very good and the message it left on me was touching. A very, very good movie Clint Eastwood has done it again. I don't think we have anything planned for today, but isn't that strange for us? Something must be in the air or in the water supply.

JT is leaving for Virginia on the 2nd of June to receive training for his job at Honeywell, he will return mid July. We wish him the best and hope that he stays cool in Virginia. Make us proud, JT, but just do your best. We are waiting to receive a phone call from Jerome and Kesha when they land in Phoenix sometime today. The heat is going to hit them as soon as they step off of the plane, they were warned ahead of time.

I had better get another cup of coffee and check on Chris. I am going to do some yard work this morning before it gets too hot to be outside. I will leave a hint for Elise to prepare a nice cold Margarita for me after the yard work is done. How about a gallon of them, eh?

Well, I just go back from running my errands and let me tell you it is hot outside. The puter says 102 degrees, the Prius says 103 degrees, and I am saying I need a martini quick.

It is nor playing outside at all and I am glad to be back inside. That will not last long because I need to get Chris out in it for a while. Do they have martini's on a stick?

TGIF!! How are you on this Friday morning? I started the day off at 5:15am caring for Chris. Elise is floating in dreamland riding in bridge hand with lot's of points. She may make a slam and if she does she will wake up and start her day.

The coffee is good and hot this morning an speaking of hot the temp is 68 degrees already. We just might make 100 degrees today, it was 99 yesterday, and you say " Uno Cervesa por favor". Any plans for today or the holiday weekend?

Nothing planned for today but I have to run to my office and I think I will run my car through the car wash while I am out. Elise is hosting a marathon bridge game here this afternoon. I got a email this morning stating that our tees are still not done yet and that they will be next week. I am very sorry for our customers who were looking forward to receiving theirs today, but I will get them to you as soon as I pick them up.

My nephew and his wife Kesha will be here in Arizona tomorrow for a few days. They will spend Sunday with us and we are looking forward to it. Well, I had better get myself and Chris together. Have a great Friday and a fantastic holiday weekend.

It's a Thirsty Thursday again, how are you this morning? I started the day off at 5:15am caring for Chris. Elise is getting wet and wild this morning at the pool. Her first day back at the pool in about three weeks due to the new tattoo on her ankle.

Any plans for today? We may go to the movies after Rosemary arrives to care for Chris and we may go to Outback for dinner this evening. The coffee is good this morning and this morning blend is not bad at all. Once again I am thinking donut, smile.

We had a wonderful evening with Jeanne and Angelica even though Jeanne and I lost at bridge. We were kicking butt at first and during the last few hands they beat us badly, but it was a lot of fun just being there with them. Next time we will be the victors for sure.

Chris and Elise will be receiving a massage this morning and Chris enjoys it when Pam rubs him down, lucky guy. Well, I had better get another cup of coffee and get this day rolling. Have a great day and keep moving forward.

Happy Hump Day! I started the day off at 5:15am caring for Chris. Elise is still floating down the Grand Canyon but she will making that climb back up to get her day started. Any plans for today?

It is a nice 57 degrees right now and it is supposed to hit 97 today. The coffee is very good this morning, a breakfast blend from fresh beans. A nice oatmeal raisin cookie should go well with it, eh?

We are going to visit Jeanne and Angelica up in the foothills this evening for snacks and a few hands of bridge. Elise and Angelica beat Jeanne and I last time but not this time. Revenge is sweet with a few Jack and Cokes, smile.

I hope that this Hump Day is a good one and I hope that it doesn't bring any surprises. Well, I had better get busy and get a second cup of coffee. Have a great Hump Day and stay safe.

Well, the day has been pretty good. How about yours? Chris's wheelchair got checked out and it needs parts ordered. That will take about two weeks and then I will take it back to be repaired. I got my errands taken care of today to include the purchase of our season tickets to the Live Theater Workshop for another year.

Elise prepared a nice dinner this evening. We had breakfast for dinner that consisted of french toast, sausages, and hot coffee. Yummy! Elise just left to play bridge at her Mom's. I am caring for Chris this evening and he is talking up a storm tonight.

My nephew and his wife Kesha will be here in Arizona on the 29th. They will be spending the day with us all day on the 30th. We are going to show them around Tucson and take them out for dinner at Zemems Ethiopian restaurant. It should be a treat for us all.

Well, I had better get back to Chris. Have a great evening and a good Hump Day tomorrow.

Well, I just returned from taking Chris's wheelchair for servicing, and I got it right today, smile. Yesterday was a real wreck of a day, let me tell you. Kecia is here now caring for Chris and I can run a few more errands that I need to tend to.

First I must get another cup of coffee for the extra boost of energy. Have a good day and stay happy and safe.

It has been a true Monday let me tell you. I am always very cautious on Monday's. I took Chris's wheelchair to be repaired and the address I had was wrong but I found the place. I went in and come to find out his appointment isn't until tomorrow morning. Now is that a true Monday or what?

Next come to find out we are still having problems getting Chris his needed medical supplies from his insurance carrier and we have been dealing with this now for about a month or more. A case of the right foot just keeps kicking the left foot and we are getting nowhere fast.

Next I felt so out of sorts that I started not to feel well. I am glad that this Monday is about over. Elise prepared a nice dinner prior to her leaving to play bridge at her Mom's house. I am caring for Chris this evening and he is wanting to play who is going to pick up my pillow after I throw it on the floor time and time again.

The weather has been pretty good today and we still are having a bout with the wind leftover from yesterday. Well, I had better get back to Chris. Have a good day and a much better tomorrow. I hope that mine will be a lot better, smile.

How are you this morning? I started the day off at 5:00am caring for Chris. Elise is still counting Cardinals this morning but she will be up chirping and in flight soon. The coffee is good this morning and it hits the spot, due to it is a chilly 47 degrees here in the Old Pueblo. Any plans for today?

I have to Chris's wheelchair in for some repair this morning and I hope that they do not keep it all day long. While I am out I may stop and get a breakfast biscuit or two, smile. Elise and I had a very nice time at Reid Park last night. We attended Music Under the Stars and the music was very good. The Tucson Boys Chorus sang and they did some fancy rope tricks as well. It brought back a lot of memories for me due to JT was a member of the chorus for many years.

We left early due to it got very windy and rather cold. We had on shorts and short sleeve shirts and the wind was going right through us and many others. Prior to the start of the show we sat and watched the crowd ate a light dinner. We had chicken breasts, baked beans, popcorn and of course couple of glasses of Merlot. Overall it was a good evening and Mum was there too.

Well, I had better get busy. I also have to check on the status of our latest tee-shirt design as well to see if it has been completed. Have a good day and take it slow and easy, it's still a Monday.

Afternoon

Good Afternoon,

Well, the wind is really blowing now and we are under a wind advisory for most of the day. We had a very nice breakfast with Mum at Alice's. The food was good and the coffee was hot like Mum insists that it must be, smile. Elise is giving Chris a bio-feedback treatment at the present time so now I can tell you about our trip to Puerto Penasco ( Rocky Point, Mexico).

We left Tucson at around 11:00am after we had a very good breakfast at Gus Balones. At about noon we were stuck on Ajo Rd because they are repairing the highway. It seems like every trip that we take and we drive we get stuck due to road work. This trip is a slow one so we don't mind the wait too much. There is a nice breeze and the temp is about 78 degrees. We are listening to a book on tape about Erma Bombeck and it is pretty good and funny.

We stopped in Why, AZ to get Mexican travel insurance for 3 days. It cost about $54.00. Elise talked to the lady there in Why and she said that there were fields in Buckeye , AZ that were rotting because no one wanted to pick them except immigrants and the farmers would not hire then if they were illegal!! A very sad note. We arrived in Rocky Point at around 3:30pm and the house on the beach that belongs to our relatives Bucky and Dena had just been painted inside and out and it looked very nice. New patio furniture as well with nice turquoise cushions. We are sitting on the back patio enjoying the cool breeze and eating our famous tuna fish, jalapeno dip with Fritos and we are drinking a few Cervesa. Delicious!

We played Scrabble on the patio for a couple of hours and we continued to eat the dip and we had a few more Cervesas! After that we played a game called "Wizard" for a few more hours adn we moved on to our favorite game drink Jack and Coke. It is about 9:30pm and we are totally stuffed and ready to call it a day. Bucky called to see if we got there OK.

We woke up at around 8:30am and we both had stomach aches, I guess it was too much food or something? Smile! We tossed and turned during the night because it was a bit warm. Elise got up at around 9:00am and she fixed us a light breakfast of toast, jelly and coffee. After that we took a walk on the beach.We had to cover our tattoos before we went on the walk to keep the sun off of them. It was a very good long walk on the beach. After that we went into town to get some groceries. We bought some cheese(asadero and oaxaca), corn tortillas that had just been made, salsa, watermelon, ice cream, shrimp, water and dental floss. The grand total was $32.80. Not bad at all!

We returned to the house and we played rousing game of "Wizard" . later we played a game Triominos and drank jack and Coke and Elise munched on pistachios and I ate chicharones and popcorn. Elise took a shore nap and then she read for a while before she fixed dinner. We had refried beans with Mexican cheese and jalapenos in them, Quinoa, shrimp sauteed in olive oil and grape seed oil with garlic and a touch of sesame seed oil. We also had corn tortillas hot and lot's of salsa. We had some Black Box Merlot alone with dinner and it is always a good choice. We watched a DVD while we ate and it was in black and white a little weird but it was good . After dinner we sat on the patio and people watched playing in the sand and fishing off of the beach. We came inside and we played another round of "Wizard", we have become masters of the game. Then we called it a night at around 11:00pm. Another good day in Mexico.

We started the day at 8:30am but Elise is still on AZ time so for her it is 7:30am. Elise fixed a nice breakfast and I cooked a couple of smoked pork chops to go along with our corn tortillas and coffee. Next thing you know we were out for another beach walk. We walked for 68 minutes adn we are exhausted from walking in the sand,it is very hare work don't you know? It was hot as well even though the breeze from the ocean was feeling good. We walked part of the way behind the beach houses on the road to get a different view . Lot's of expensive houses for sale. One was a small one priced at $700,000 so you can imagine the price of the big ones. The house we stayed in had to have cost at least a couple of million, and let me tell you is is very nice. There are not very many tourist here but lots of workers painting and sanding the beach houses. So we imagine that they expect a large influx of people during the Memorial Day vacation.

We took a trip into town to visit a pharmacy this morning to get meds that you cannot get anymore in the states. We also bougth more salsa and batteries for Dena's kitchen clock. We returned from the pharmacy and we had a few Jack and Cokes, of course we did. We played more Triominoes on the patio and Scrabble, right after that we took a little nap. Elise then made dinner which. We had those shrimp again, refried beans, quinoa, jalapenos, cheese and corn tortillas, and of course some more Merlot. We watched a movie on TV with Matt Damon and Greg Kinear that was pretty good. Then we went out side to watch the sunset it was very nice.

We decided to play some more "Wizard" and have some ice cream for dessert. There are a lot of people on the beach this today and some guys are in the house next to us and they are loud and and drinking beer. We called it a night after we completed the game.

21 May 10

We got up at around 8:00am and just missed a tamale lady selling on on the beach. We are preparing to head back to Tucson so we are packing our suitcases and we are going to take one more stroll on the beach before we leave. After the walk we decided to eat some watermelon on the patio and people watch. This morning's beach walk was for about an hour, and we are really tired from it. We picked up some shells from the beach for (Q) Kecia's daughter. We got showered and dressed and we locked up the house and we left for Tucson. We got back to Tucson and we unloaded the pickup and then we went to Oregano's for pizza, vino and a couple Bellini's. A very nice way to end a very relaxing trip. We sleep very well that night let me tell you.

How are you? I started the day off at 5:15am looking in on Chris and getting him settled. Elise will be caring for Chris this morning as soon as she let's the sun shine in her eyes, smile. Any plans for today? The coffee is great this morning and temperature is heating up with a nice breeze.

We are going to go out for breakfast with Mum this morning like we do every Sunday. We had a very nice evening with Mum at the Old Pueblo Grill for dinner. We sat outside and the weather was perfect, and the food was very good. We shared a bottle of red along with our meal and it was good too!

This evening after Rosemary arrives to care for Chris we are going to listen to Music Under the Stars at Reid Park. We enjoy the music and just being outdoors with the crowds enjoying the evening under the stars with a bottle of red and a few snacks. Last week the crowd was huge and it will more than likely be a repeat tonight. Mum will be there as well.

Well, I had better get to it. I will give info and photos about our trip to Puerto Penasco a little later today. Have a great Sunday and stay safe and healthy.

Another day has come to a close and for a Monday it hasn't been too bad at all. We got to see JT for a while today and that is a always a good thing for us. I spent a lot of time outside today with Chris working in the front yard.

Elise prepared some very good soup for dinner. I am caring for Chris this evening and Elise is playing bridge at her Mom's. I have just about finished packing for our short stay in Rocky Point, Mexico. We are looking forward to just lounging around on the beach and just resting.

We hope that your day was a good one? Well, I had better make sure I am all packed and get my passport out to take along. Have a good night and we will chat at you as soon as we return.

How are you on this Monday morning? I started the day off at 5:15am caring for Chris. Elise is up and about this morning early. The coffee is very good this morning as a matter of fact I am on my second cup. Any plans for today?

I have to run a few errands and make a visit to my office to turn in some paperwork. We are in the process of packing a few bags for a short trip to Rocky Point, Mexico. We will spend some time on the beach and in town as well. We love going there it is so very relaxing and the fresh seafood is wonderful. We will be leaving early tomorrow morning and we will return on Friday if all goes as planned.

We had a wonderful evening at Reid Park last night listening to music under the stars. We were picked up by Jan and Lundy, they are very gracious hosts. The weather was perfect and a huge crowd was present. We shared pizza, cheese and crackers, nuts, popcorn, and of course vino. We also shared a bottle of Gruet champagne that was very, very good. It was a great evening under the stars. Thank you Jan and Lundy!

How are you? I started the day off at 5:15am looking in on Chris and getting him settled. Elise will be caring for Chris this morning as soon as she gets the cobwebs shaken loose. Any plans for today?

Well, the coffee is nice and hot and it is doing it's job of perking me right up, smile. We had a relaxing day yesterday and we got a surprise visit from Elise's sister Ann and Johnny. Elise, Johnny and I played games on the Wii and he is pretty good but all kids are good at this type of thing. After that we went to Cody's Beef and Bean for dinner with Mum, Ann and Johnny. The food was as good as always.

We are going out for brunch with Mum this morning at Colors. We found out on Friday evening that they serve brunch and we were told it was very good so we will give it a go this morning. This evening after Rosemary arrives to care for Chris we are going to go to Reid Park to listen to music under the stars. We will take our chairs, a few snacks and a bottle of Gruet Champagne. It should be a fun evening.

Well, I had better get busy and get myself together. Have a wonderful Sunday.

How are you? I started the day off at 5:30am looking in on Chris and getting him settled. Elise is still rolling down the river but she will be on dry ground soon. Elise is caring for Chris this morning as soon as she dry docks, smile. Any plans for today?

Marv cared for Chris last night and Elise and I went to Colors for a couple of Jack and Cokes. One of Elise's friends was there and her name is Janet. Janet was waiting on a friend to show up and her name is Shoo Shoo. Elise and I both perked up and I was glad that I was going to see Shoo Shoo in person. Well, she arrived and it was hugs all over the place, it was good to finally meet her, what a thrill!!

We sat there and we talked and we enjoyed our drinks. Come to find out they were also going to the Live Theater to see the play "What The Butler Saw" it was hilarious and very well done. After the play Elise and I went to Buddy's Grill for dinner and a bottle of red. We had shrimp cocktail as an appetizer and we both got the pork chops that are fantastic. Elise got a baked potato and I got the Au Gratin potatoes. It was a very good evening for all. We returned home and I checked on Chris and we called it a night.
