How are you this morning? I started the day of at 5:00am caring for Chris. Elise is completely covered this morning, she must be in a cave searching for one of those giant bats that we have here in Arizona. As soon as she sees it she will scream and start her day, smile. Any plans for today?

I have a couple of errands to run this morning. Angelica will be here to care for Chris. Elise fixed a very nice dinner last night. We had tamales, tomatoes, corn on the cob, and tiny potatoes. We got it all down with a martini, followed by long island iced tea, yes we did.

We watched a couple of DVD as well. One was Daddy's Little Girls and the other was called Broken Arrow. The later was very interesting about what happened to the Navajo and the Hopi in the the four corners area here in the west. It was very disturbing to say the least. Later we worked on crossword puzzles until Elise hit the sheets. I watched a little TV until Rosemary left for the night.

Well as promise the above photos are of our tent that I put up to see what it would look like. I did not stake it to the ground not did I put the top over it. It was fun putting it up. It is a 8 man sleeper with two windows .

Sunday Morning!

Good Morning

Mood: Rested

Music listening to: Birds chirping, dogs barking!

How are you this fine Sunday morning? I started the day off at 5:00am looking in on Chris and getting him settled for Elise. Elise is still stretched out but she will be up and on the move shortly. Any plans for today?

We went to the Loft last night to see a movie called "Meeks Cutoff" it was very good. It is about a group of families travelling across Oregon in 1865. It shows what they go through during the journey and it was rough let me tell you. It also shows that they would have not made it if not for the help and the skills of the Native American who knew and who could read the land and survive in such conditions. The ending was shocking and it left you wondering.

We are going to go out for breakfast this morning to a place called "Poco and Mom's" we have not been there in ages. We are also going to meet up with Marty this evening at Zemams for dinner. We love Zemams! I also have to run a couple of errands this morning and gas up the Spectra.

Evening

Good Evening

Well, the day has been a pretty quiet one here in Tucson. I had to run an errand and I cleaned out the shed and I did a little picking up in the front yard were Elise left off.

We had a early dinner that Elise prepared that was very good. We got it all down with a couple of Cobre Libra's that hit the spot. We watched a DVD called "The Oath" it was very good. It was about Osama Bin Ladin and his followers and about the trials at Guantanamo Bay.

We are going to go to the movies this evening at the "Loft" we haven't been there in a while. Rosemary will be caring for Chris this evening. Now here is a how our stay cation went in Safford.

18 May 11

We started it by going to Gus Balones for breakfast and let me tell you it was very good. We stopped at the air base to get gas and to pick up a restocking of Jack Daniels, yes we know Jack, smile.

We arrived at our hotel at around 12:30pm and we checked in and we settled in. We stocked up on plenty of ice for our Jack and Cokes, don't you know? We played a few computer games on the laptop and we devoured our tuna jalapeno dip. Boy was it good. We totally rested and we watched a little TV as well. We also listened to a book on CD that we brought along. It was getting to be around 9:00pm and we called it a night. Can you believe that?

19 May 11

I was up and at it at 7:00am. Elise was still counting sheep. Yes, I said 7:00am. Really strange for me, eh? I fixed a pot of coffee and that woke Elise up to start her day. Elise took a walk and she checked what the hotel had to offer for breakfast. Nothing to our liking so we went to a placed called "Jerry's". We have been here before on one of our previous stay cations. The food was great and plentiful.

We drove by the theatre to see what was showing later in the evening. We stopped at Walgreen's to pick up a few things before we returned to our room. We listened to the book on CD some more and we looked over crossword puzzles. We watched a little more TV and then we headed out for Kachina Hot Springs for a total body massage and soaking. We got there and the therapists were waiting on us. We got into the hot springs and let me tell you that felt great. After about a 15 minute soaking we got on the massage tables and the therapists went to work from head to toe. After that we were back into the hot spring for another 15 min soaking. At that point I was in need of a nap and I am sure Elise was as well. WE got back on the table and we were wrapped up like mummies and wow, does not describe it. While we were wrapped we had our feet massaged and if you have never had one of those, you are really missing out. After the unwrapping we headed back into he hot spring fro our final soaking before we got dressed. It was great.

We headed back to our room and chilled for a few minutes. Then we left for "La Manana" for dinner. The food was wonderful and served up very quickly. After dinner we stopped at the hotel for a quick Jack pick me up and then we headed for the movies. We saw " Bridesmaids" it is of the funniest movies that we have seen in a long time. Laugh after laugh. We recommend that you see it as soon as you can. It is so good that I we are going to buy it when it comes out on DVD, it is that good.

We returned to our room and we listened to more of the book on CD with a few more Jacks of course. It go to be around 9:00pm again and you guessed it, it was game over again. A very good day.

20 May 11

I was up again at 7:00am and I put the coffee on. Elise did no wake up this time from the aroma of the coffee. She woke up at 8:00am and started her day. We got dressed and we went across the street to the Manor House for breakfast. It was pretty good and the coffee was great. We returned to our room and we began to pack up for our drive back to Tucson. We checked out at around 10:30am and we hit the road. We could see the smoke from the forest fire on top of the mountains,it was burning pretty good.

We arrived at home at around 12:30pm and we unloaded the Tacoma. We took a short break and then we went to the movies to see"Cave of Forgotten Dreams in 3D. It was spectacular. After the movie we went to " Oreganos" for dinner. We shared a bottle of red, very hot,hot chicken wings and a delicious thin crust pizza. For dessert we had one and a half Bellini's, that were excellent. We returned home and Elise hit the sheets to read and I watched a little TV until Marv left for the night. I then checked on Chris and then I called it a day. That was our stay-cation.Very relaxing and lot's of fun. We are looking forward to our next outing next month to Seattle,Washington for a couple of days to visit Susie, Roy and wife, and to see a grown up Adam.

Well, I had better get ready for the movies for this evening. Have a great night and enjoy.

Cheers..............

Saturday Is Here!

Good Morning

Mood: Nostalgic

Music listening to: Love Don't Live Here Anymore by Rolls Royce

How are you? I started the day off at 5:10am looking in on Chris and getting him settled. Elise is still counting sheep this morning, but when one of the sheep cannot jump the fence it will wake her up and she will begin her day. Any plans for today?

Last night we relaxed and watched the "Tudors" on DVD, it is a very good series. We also chowed down on our 15 bean soup as well. It was delicious let me tell you. Elise had two bowls and I had three, and the jalapeno cornbread was great. We got it down with some "Flying Fish" a very good Merlot and one of our favorites. Even Marv had a bowl and he enjoyed it very much while he was caring for Chris.

Well this evening is the "Tucson Women's Chorus" concert this evening at the Berger Center. It will be a good concert and it should draw a very nice crowd. After the concert we are going to a after-party and that should be interesting too!

Well, I had better get myself together and get this day started. Have a great day today and a better tomorrow.

Later..............

Tiger, Marcie, Jet what is up?

Rosie, it is always good to hear from you.

Shirlene, I am glad that you liked the card we sent to you. Have a great weekend.

Ross, that is wild about what happened to you on Facebook.

Shoo Shoo, how are you doing?

Jane and John, have a great weekend.

Flo and John, how are you?

Loraine, yes we have a broom. The photo is up above. Jumping the Broom is an old African-American tradition that started back in the slave era. Blacks were not allowed to marry back then so to seal a relationship the couple would jump over a broom that was on the floor or on the ground. So when JT decides to marry he will receive our broom for his wedding day.

Friday the 13th! Oh No!!!!!!!!!

Good Morning,

Mood: Taking baby-steps today!

Music listening to: Masquerade by George Benson

Be Careful Today! It's Friday the 13th. How are you? I started the day off at 5:10am caring for Chris. Elise is purring away, but she will be up and on the move soon. Any plans for today?

The day has been going haywire since I got up this morning. I could not get on Blogger because it was down for hours. Elise is hosting Marathon Bridge here today and two of the players are having bad days. One is stuck in Denver due to weather and plane problems, and the other took a fall this morning and she broke her wrist. The makings of a true Friday the 13th.

Elise's chorus practice went well last night and the concert on Saturday evening should be a hit. After the practice we stopped in Applebee's for dinner and that was a treat. We shared a bottle of cab that was very good. We had buffalo wings, red beans and rice, veggies, grilled shrimp and sirloin steak. Excellent dinner.

We have no plans for today so we will more than likely watch a few DVD's. We went to the movies yesterday afternoon to see"Jumping The Broom" it was very good and very well done. Elise and I have our wedding broom standing in the corner of the family room. It will go to JT when he decides to get married. We also saw the previews for the movie "The Help" it will come out in August of this year and it should be great. Elise is playing on buying the DVD when it makes it's debut.

We I had better get busy. I am going to put on the crock pot and package of 15 bean soup beans. Can you say yummy? Elise is going to fix some cornbread to go along with it. Have a good day if you can.
Cheers................
