Hump Day!

Good Morning

Mood: Cautious

Music listening to: Erotic City by Prince

Hump Day is here! I started the day off at 4:45am due to not sleeping well. I guess it is the stress Elise's upcoming surgery, caregiver problems and whatever is going on in general. Elise is counting stars this morning but she will be up and about soon. She wants to go out for breakfast this morning and that is a good idea.

I am waiting on the coffee to finish brewing, I need it badly, smile. Any plans for today? I am going to listen to my class lecture today and it is going to be interesting. I want thank everyone who has agreed to help me by answering the questions that I sent out. I am sure that the professor will present a few more during the lecture today.

Well, I had better get busy with Chris. Have a good Hump Day and stay safe.

Later.............

Jeanne, we miss you.

Tiger, Marcie, Jet, have a great Hump Day.

Loraine, thank you.

Ross, what is up down under?

Jean, I am pleased that you liked my camera work of Chris.

I also want thank everyone for the prayers and best wishes for Elise's upcoming surgery, we appreciate it and you very much.

Good Night

Good Night

It has been a different kind of day. First the caregiver did not show this morning. I was supposed to go with Elise this morning for her Sonogram so she went alone.

Elise will be having surgery on Thursday afternoon to have her gallbladder removed due to it has a polyp that needs to be removed.
To prevent further polyps she will have the gallbladder removed. It will be an outpatient procedure with about a weeks recovery.

Elise prepared cornbread and pinto beans for dinner and it was very good. I am caring for Chris this evening and Elise is at her Mom's playing bridge. Well, I had better get back to work with Chris. Have a good evening and lookout tomorrow is Hump Day.
Cheers..............

Tiger, Marcie, Jet good night.

Loraine, I am glad that you were able to get the Psych questions this evening.

I will accompany Elise tomorrow morning after Kecia arrives for her Sonogram appointment. All of her lab reports came back good and in the normal range, so we will see what the Sonogram will show.

Good Night

Good Night

Well, we just got back from the Live Theatre's Season Ticket Holder's Party. Let me tell you it was very nice. A good sized crowd, lot's of soda, water, white wine, and loads of red wine. A very large assortment of food too!

Sandwiches, shrimp, wraps, veggies, fruit to include chocolate covered strawberries, a regular smorgasbord I must say. We got to listen to some previews of plays that are going to be presented next summer. We were entertained by the kid actors and singers, as well as a few songs and skits from the regular actors. A very nice evening indeed. People loved the tees that Elise and were wearing and I gave out a business card to one lady who was very interested in them.

We returned home and Elise called it a night and she hit the sheets to read for a while. I watched a little TV until Kecia left for the evening. I checked on Chris and I ran out of steam so I had to pack it in too! We hope that your day was a good one as well? Be prepared tomorrow is Monday, smile.

Cheers.................

Tiger, Marcie, Jet sleep well.

Flo and John guess what we had for dinner? Yes, we had Panda Express and it was very, very good. Thank you for telling us about it.

Howdy!! H0w are you? I started the day off at 5:30am looking in on Chris. Elise is still in slumber land but she will be up soon caring for Chris. Any plans for today?

We are going out for breakfast with Mum this morning to the Blue Willow but that may change if Mum wants to go elsewhere. The coffee is good this morning and I am eyeing a danish that is on the kitchen counter. I am losing the battle but I have to hold out until after breakfast if I can, smile.

Elise and I are going to the Live Theatre this evening for a season's ticket holders party that should be interesting. Well, we watched our Wildcats play Cal and it was not a good game for either team. Their were miss calls by the refs, too many penalties given out and the tempers were flaring, some rightly so.

We won the game though with a score of 10 to 9. It was a baseball game score, not football. Our Wildcats came through in the last few minutes of the 4th quarter to get the win. We hope that the next game will be more exciting, eh?

Well, I had better check on Chris. Elise will be somersaulting over shortly. Have a great day and enjoy.

Later.........................

Jeanne, we miss you.

Tiger, Marcie, Jet let's get things rolling along. Prayers are out for Joy.

Ross, good to hear from you guys and we are glad that things are going well down under.

Rosie, how goes it?

Shoo Shoo, what are you up to?

Flo and John, we are talking Panda Express for dinner tonight, smile.

Sis, have a good day in the (A).

Good Morning

Mood: Worried

Music listening to: Joystick

How are you? I started the day off at 5:20am looking in on Chris. Elise is counting Javalina this morning but she will be giving them her knockout punch soon so she can get her day started. Any plans for today?

Well, I do know one thing that the coffee is good and another cup is in sight. We had a very nice time at Colors last night and the Jack and Cokes were great. The play we saw at Live Theatre was called the "Gin Game" and it was very good and well done. Do you remember Jessica Tandy? She was in the original production. After the play we went to Buddy's Grill for dinner. We haven't been there in ages. We shared a bottle of red, and a shrimp cocktail. We ordered the pork chops and we were disappointed that they were out of them. That is the main reason we go there because the chops are fantastic.

So Elise ordered halibut, with a baked potato and veggies. I ordered the BBQ chicken and rib combo, veggies and Au gratin potatoes. They were good but not as good as the pork chops. We returned home and I checked on Chris and Elise and I called it a night. We are going to stay in today and watch our Wildcats play Cal this evening. Go Cat's!! Other than that nothing going on today.

Well, I had better see what trouble I can get into. Have a good day and a better tomorrow.

Later................

Jeanne, we miss you.

Tiger, Marcie, Jet let's get to cooking sisters.

Loraine, I am on lecture #14 It is all about SEX. It should be very interesting and I know that I will be asking for help with a few questions. Are you game?

Shoo Shoo, have a good day.

Joe and Mary, have a good weekend.

Music listening to: Dream Love Come Back To Me

TGIF!! Yes, it is Friday again. I started the day off at 5:30am caring for Chris. Elise is floating down a lazy wash this morning but as soon as she hits a dry spot she will be up and at it. The coffee is good this morning and I am thinking bacon! Any plans for today?

We had a nice evening yesterday. We went to the movies to see "Town" and it was great. We also went to the Outback for dinner. Elise had a salad, a filet, baked potato with the works and grilled shrimp. I had a small bowl of potato soup, sirloin, baked potato with the works and coconut shrimp, and bread. We shared a bottle of red that was very good. For dessert we each had a Walla B Darn that was spot on.

We returned home and we watched some more of "Dexter" on DVD. After Kecia left I checked on Chris and we called it a night. Elise is hosting a Marathon Bridge game here today. We are also going to go to Colors this evening for a Jack or two prior to us going to the Live Theatre to see the "Gin Game". After the play we will be going out for a late dinner at Buddy's Grill or maybe Applebee's.

Have a great Friday and enjoy.

Cheers................

Jeanne, we miss you.

Good Night

Another day has come and gone and it has been a good one. I got my errands taken care of and I returned home to relief Kecia from caring for Chris. We watched TV and we took a walk around the hood. It got really cloudy and windy but not a drop of rain for the second day in a row. We are suppose to have a 70% chance of rain tomorrow we will see, eh?

Elise prepared breakfast for dinner this evening. We had french toast, sausages and hot coffee. It hit the spot nicely. I am caring for Chris this evening and Elise is playing bridge at her Mom's. Elise had some lab work done today and we are waiting for the results to come back. Elise may have a gallbladder problem we will see. She will be getting a ultrasound any day now.

Good Night

Good Night,

Well, another Monday has come to an end and it has been very relaxing day. I ran my errands and Chris and I watched TV and we watched a DVD. We also listened to music as well. I tried to repair one of the outside lights in the yard but it cannot be fixed it needs to be replaced.

Elise prepared a good dinner tonight. We had soup, tomatoes, yellow peppers, cheese and bread. Very, very good. Elise is still not at 100% and it is a concern. She has a doctor's appointment tomorrow to see what is going on.

I am caring for Chris this evening and Elise is at her Mom's playing bridge. Hey, the wind is blowing pretty good outside and I smell rain in the air. Maybe we will get a drop or two, eh? Well, I had better get back to Chris. Have a good evening and a great tomorrow.

How are you this morning? I started the day off at 5:10am looking in on Chris and getting him settled. Elise will be caring for Chris this morning as soon as she gets out of the clouds and lands on her two feet running. Any plans for today?

The coffee is good this morning and we are going out for breakfast with Mum to a place called Hometown Buffet. One of Mum's favorite places because she loves their sweet rolls. Later in the evening we are going to meet up with Paula and Marty at Zemems for an good Ethiopian dinner.

We got a bit of a scare yesterday evening because he caregiver called with car trouble and we were all set up and ready for our game night that we had planned weeks ago. The caregiver did not show so I called Rosemary who was supposed to work and I let her know that Kecia did not show up so Rosemary came to work with Chris.

The game night was a hit. We had a very nice time playing Apples to Apples and we chowed down on a variety of snacks. We shared plenty of vino and I must say that neither Elise or I won the game. We consumed two bottles of Gruet champagne while we watched our Wildcats beat Iowa. Go Cat's!! I must tell you though the Cat's gave us a scare or two near the end of the game, but they pulled it off. It was a very nice evening.

Well, I had better check on Chris and get myself ready for breakfast. Have a great Sunday and enjoy the day!

Good Morning

Good Morning

Mood: Reflecting

Music listening to: Police Scanner

How are you? I started the day off at 5:10am caring for Chris. Elise was stirring about and she will be on the move real soon. Any plans for today? The coffee is good this morning and I need something to go along with it.

We are hosting a Game Night this evening. We are going to play Apples to Apples with about 8 people it should be a lot of fun. We will have snacks and of course vine and some champagne to top it off. We had a very nice dinner out last night with Mum at Cody's Beef and Bean.

Mum had the chicken special and Elise and I had the T-bones. Elise had a backed potato and I had the dinner fries. We both had the beans. We shared a carafe of Burgundy that is always good at Cody's. For dessert I had a slice of cookies and cream pie and Mum had a couple of scoops of vanilla ice cream. A very good evening. We returned home and Elise and I watched the final episode of "Dexter" the second season. We will pick up the third season today. After Marv left for the night I checked on Chris and that was all she wrote for me.

Our Wildcats play football this evening against Iowa, Go Cats! I will tape the game while we are playing Apples to Apples. We had a fantastic time at the Residence Inn here in Tucson, thanks to my brother Herman. Once again he got us a great deal on the rates. Well, here is a bit about our stay-cation.

15-Sept-10

We arrived at the Residence Inn at around 2:00pm. We checked in and we went to our suite. Wow,let me tell you it was very nice inside and very spacious. It had a nice V and a DVD player that was a plus for us. We had planned on going back home to get the DVD "Dexter". Elise and I were both very tired because we have not been sleeping well due to Elise not feeling well over the past 3 days. We got settled in the suite and we munched on our tuna jalapeno dip with Frito's, it was delicious. Of course we had a few Jack and Cokes to go along with it, smile. We ventured over to the registration office for Social Hour that was provided by the Inn. It was great!

We had Bratwurst and sauerkraut, potato salad, beans and a few glasses of red. What a treat that was. We returned to the room and we were exhausted so we called it game over at 8:30pm. We slept until 9:00am the next day, we must to have needed the sleep badly, eh?

16-Sept-10

We lounged around and we got showered and dressed. We went to Gus Balone's for breakfast. Elise got the ham steak, fried eggs, toast. I got the pork chops, eggs, and toast. We had plenty of coffee to get it all down. One of Elise's friends was there having breakfast that she knows from the Fit Center were she works out at. After breakfast we stopped by Elise's doctor's office to let him know that the shot that he gave worked and that she is feeling much better. We then stopped by the house to get the DVD "Dexter" and we picked up a few more cokes and some pencils to do crossword puzzles.

We arrived back at the room and we started to play video games on the laptop. We played for about 4 hours, what fun. Along with the games we ate popcorn and consumed a few more Jack's. At around 5:30 went over for Social Hour and we ate Lumberjack soup that was fantastic. We also had ham and cheese sandwiches, macaroni salad and tapioca pudding that was really good. It was so good that one of the guest ate 3 heaping bowls full and he made the comment that it was delicious. Of course we had a few glasses of red to get that all down as well.

After that spread we walked over to the liquor store to purchase more Jack, we cannot do without Jack on a stay-cation, smile. I got some pretzels because I needed some salt. We got back to our room and we were all set to watch "Dexter" and come to find out that the DVD was still in the player at home and we both just started laughing at ourselves. Fortunately Elise brought along another DVD called "Temple Grandin" which is about an autistic woman. It was very, very good and well done. After the movie we listened to a book on CD for awhile and then it was all over.

17-Sept-10

We got up at around 8:30am, well Elise did I was up prior to that taking a shower and getting dressed. We ate breakfast here at the Inn and it was very good. Elise got the oatmeal, yogurt, banana, and a apple. I got the scrambled eggs, sausage, potatoes, bread and a doughnut. We both had plenty of coffee. We returned to our run and we packed up and we checked out and we headed home to unpack. After that we went to the movies to see "Get Low" with Robert Duvall and it was excellent and we recommend that you see it. After the movie we returned home and rested until it was time to pick up Mum for dinner. It was a very nice stay-cation and we really got some good sleep in.

There you have it.

Later............

Jeanne, we miss you.

Tiger, Marcie, Jet, have a great day.

Good Night

Good Night

Monday is just about over and it has not been a bad one at all, but it tried to though. A few problems arose that affected our upcoming stay-cation, but my brother Herman took care of the problem for us, and Elise is thrilled and so am I. Thank You Herman so very much.

Chris and I relaxed today and we watched TV and we listened to music. Elise prepared a good dinner this evening. We had corn on the cob, small potatoes, tomatoes and red peppers. It was very good. I am caring for Chris this evening and Elise is playing bridge at her Mom's. Elise has an appointment tomorrow to see a doc for her shoulder and neck pain. She is much better but she needs to have it checked out.

Tomorrow we will begin our packing up for our stay-cation at a Residence Inn here in Tucson on the east side. We are looking forward to it and my famous tuna dip with jalapenos. Of course there will be plenty of Jack and Coke to go around, smile. Rosemary will be caring for Chris while we are on this stay-cation. Elise did a little shopping today and she brought a couple of donuts and a danish back for me. I will make good use of them tomorrow morning with my coffee.

We hope that your day went well? Have a good evening and sleep well.

How are you doing? I started the day off at 5:10am caring for Chris. Elise is still climbing pine trees and chasing chipmunks this morning, but she will be coming down off of the mountain shortly and hitting those mean streets. Any plans for today? None hear as of yet, but the coffee is great.

We had a very nice time up on Mt. Lemmon with Paula and Marty. We stayed in a nice cabin the was very nice. Paula fixed some great meals let me tell you. We hiked up into the mountain and we were at around 8000 feet or so. The air was getting a bit thin at times especially on those steep inclines. I had to take a break a couple of times to catch my breath, and I was not the only one, smile. It was great and the views were spectacular.

We returned home and later in the evening Elise and I went to the Loft to see the movie " Cairo Time" it was very good but it was hard to hear at times. After that we returned home and we watched some more of "Dexter" it is getting better and better. After Rosemary left for the evening I checked on Chris and we called it night.
