Good Morning

Good Morning

Mood: Reflecting

Music listening to: Police Scanner

How are you? I started the day off at 5:10am caring for Chris. Elise was stirring about and she will be on the move real soon. Any plans for today? The coffee is good this morning and I need something to go along with it.

We are hosting a Game Night this evening. We are going to play Apples to Apples with about 8 people it should be a lot of fun. We will have snacks and of course vine and some champagne to top it off. We had a very nice dinner out last night with Mum at Cody's Beef and Bean.

Mum had the chicken special and Elise and I had the T-bones. Elise had a backed potato and I had the dinner fries. We both had the beans. We shared a carafe of Burgundy that is always good at Cody's. For dessert I had a slice of cookies and cream pie and Mum had a couple of scoops of vanilla ice cream. A very good evening. We returned home and Elise and I watched the final episode of "Dexter" the second season. We will pick up the third season today. After Marv left for the night I checked on Chris and that was all she wrote for me.

Our Wildcats play football this evening against Iowa, Go Cats! I will tape the game while we are playing Apples to Apples. We had a fantastic time at the Residence Inn here in Tucson, thanks to my brother Herman. Once again he got us a great deal on the rates. Well, here is a bit about our stay-cation.

15-Sept-10

We arrived at the Residence Inn at around 2:00pm. We checked in and we went to our suite. Wow,let me tell you it was very nice inside and very spacious. It had a nice V and a DVD player that was a plus for us. We had planned on going back home to get the DVD "Dexter". Elise and I were both very tired because we have not been sleeping well due to Elise not feeling well over the past 3 days. We got settled in the suite and we munched on our tuna jalapeno dip with Frito's, it was delicious. Of course we had a few Jack and Cokes to go along with it, smile. We ventured over to the registration office for Social Hour that was provided by the Inn. It was great!

We had Bratwurst and sauerkraut, potato salad, beans and a few glasses of red. What a treat that was. We returned to the room and we were exhausted so we called it game over at 8:30pm. We slept until 9:00am the next day, we must to have needed the sleep badly, eh?

16-Sept-10

We lounged around and we got showered and dressed. We went to Gus Balone's for breakfast. Elise got the ham steak, fried eggs, toast. I got the pork chops, eggs, and toast. We had plenty of coffee to get it all down. One of Elise's friends was there having breakfast that she knows from the Fit Center were she works out at. After breakfast we stopped by Elise's doctor's office to let him know that the shot that he gave worked and that she is feeling much better. We then stopped by the house to get the DVD "Dexter" and we picked up a few more cokes and some pencils to do crossword puzzles.

We arrived back at the room and we started to play video games on the laptop. We played for about 4 hours, what fun. Along with the games we ate popcorn and consumed a few more Jack's. At around 5:30 went over for Social Hour and we ate Lumberjack soup that was fantastic. We also had ham and cheese sandwiches, macaroni salad and tapioca pudding that was really good. It was so good that one of the guest ate 3 heaping bowls full and he made the comment that it was delicious. Of course we had a few glasses of red to get that all down as well.

After that spread we walked over to the liquor store to purchase more Jack, we cannot do without Jack on a stay-cation, smile. I got some pretzels because I needed some salt. We got back to our room and we were all set to watch "Dexter" and come to find out that the DVD was still in the player at home and we both just started laughing at ourselves. Fortunately Elise brought along another DVD called "Temple Grandin" which is about an autistic woman. It was very, very good and well done. After the movie we listened to a book on CD for awhile and then it was all over.

17-Sept-10

We got up at around 8:30am, well Elise did I was up prior to that taking a shower and getting dressed. We ate breakfast here at the Inn and it was very good. Elise got the oatmeal, yogurt, banana, and a apple. I got the scrambled eggs, sausage, potatoes, bread and a doughnut. We both had plenty of coffee. We returned to our run and we packed up and we checked out and we headed home to unpack. After that we went to the movies to see "Get Low" with Robert Duvall and it was excellent and we recommend that you see it. After the movie we returned home and rested until it was time to pick up Mum for dinner. It was a very nice stay-cation and we really got some good sleep in.

There you have it.
