It's The Weekend!! Che Bella!

Good Morning

Mood:  Sleepless In Tucson

Music listening to: Loons singing

The Weekend is Here! How are you? I started the day several times early due to the concert that Lampchop was putting on. Yep, I am sleepless in Tucson. Elise is still counting Gila monsters this morning but as soon as one snaps at her she will begin her day with a good swim. Any plans for today?

The coffee is good and I will devour a hot crossed bun for energy. I have to tell you that the chili that Elise prepared last night for dinner was killer. Wow, was it good. We watched the Tillman Story on DVD last night and it was scary to say the least. By me being retired from the service I could see a lot of holes and non-truths in it.

John, will be here this morning to care for Chris. I will be visiting the DDC this morning to pick up my perks and to pull a few slots. Cha Ching! Wish me Buon Fortuna, eh?

We will be receiving a visitor today from Colorado. He will be staying with us for a few days. We will be going to Chads for dinner this evening. We have not been there in a very long time.

It is supposed to be 92 degrees today. We will see and then it is suppose to a nose dive on Sunday. Not good for your health at all. Well, I had better check on Chris and get myself together. Have a good weekend and enjoy!
Later.....Jessie & Elise

Marcie, what is up for today?

Jane and John, have a good day. John, Jane is wearing a Post it Note. What is up with that?

Loraine, have a good one.

Elaine, rest and enjoy the weekend.

Mary and Bob, have a good one.

Chillin!!

Evening!

How are you doing? It has been a very peaceful day for Chris and I. I believe that Chris is over his short sickness and he has no fever today and he has been chatting up a storm.

Chris and I have been listening to the very first CD that I have owned by Boney James and he loves it. Elise bought it for me and it is wonderful. It was recorded back in 1999 and his latest CD sounds just as good.

Elise is preparing chili for dinner and it is smelling good. I will top it with cheese, onions and maybe a jalapeno or three. Of course we have a good supply of crackers. The fridge is stocked with beer. Can you say Dos XX's? I will many times. And Elise will be saying " Redbridge"

Elise is catching up on her email and I am keeping an eye on Chris. Well, I had better check the chili. Have a good evening and rest and relax.
Later....Jessie & Elise

Elaine, it was good to hear from you today. Enjoy the weekend.

Loraine, I am determined so you work those fingers of yours and I will continue my stretching and twists. You are going down in defeat for sure.

Ross, I bet you cannot wait to go on your trip? It sounds fantastic!

TGIF!! Come Va!

Good Morning

Mood: Blessed

Music listening to: Rain by Boney James

TGIF! Come Va! How are you doing? I started the day off at 4:50am caring for Chris. Elise is not in her cave this morning and she is purring away. Not to worry she will be up very soon taking names and kicking butts. Smile! Any plans for today?

The coffee is very good and hot and I think I will have a hot crossed bun to go along with my second cup. Elise picked up a few more for me yesterday, and they are so good. I have to run a few errands today, but other than that I don't thing that we have anything planned for today. What's up with that? It's a Friday for goodness sake, smile!

Marv will be here this evening to care for Chris. We are expecting company tomorrow from Colorado. He will be staying with us for a few days while he is on vacation. I am thinking about going out to the DDC tomorrow morning while John is here caring for Chris. I need to pick up my perks before I loss them.

We had a wonderful evening and BBQ with Dena and Bucky. I got the t-bones seasoned up and I lit the coals. I think that the coals were really old and they did not burn well. So I got out the big George Foreman Grill and saved the day. Elise is going to purchase some more charcoal this weekend when she is shopping.

The steaks were great but  tad over-cooked for Elise though. She likes her steaks medium rare, so they have to be still mooing on her plate. Dena prepared a very good salad to go along with the steaks and baked potatoes. Of course we downed some red and white vino. A smoking good time!

Next we hit the family room for some "WIZARD". The game started out fantastic and I was the master until we got to the fifth hand. Yes, it started to go downhill from then on. I blame it on smoke residue from the grill, it was dulling my skills as the "Wizard Master". It caused my bidding skills to be off and I believe that cards were jinxed as well. So Loraine, don't take this snafu too seriously because I have stepped up my Wizard exercises to the maximum.

While I was being tortured by the cards we downed some  champagne and we had hot crossed buns for dessert. During dinner and our card game we listened to the sounds of Oscar Peterson Live, Michael Bolton, and Michael Buble'. We are looking forward to our next get together. Thank you Dena and Bucky.

Well, I had better go and check up on Chris. Have good Friday and a better tomorrow. Stay safe!
Later........Jessie & Elise

Marcie, have a good day. Missing Tiger and Jet.

Loraine, let's keep the Wizard comments at a minimum OK?

Jane and John, how are you?

Flo and John, thanks for the info about the Aloe.

Ross, how are things?

Erika, are you back yet?

Sis, how are things in the ATL?

Herman, thank you for the call yesterday. Enjoy the Outback!

Steph, welcome back home.

Howdy! Buona Sera!!

Buona Sera!

How are you? Well we just got back from the movies. We saw Casa De Mi Padre, it was hilarious. It starred Will Ferrell. I will be striking up the grill at around 5:00pm. Elise has the potatoes baking in the oven right now. I have seasoned up the T-bones and they are nice and thick and huge.

We have plenty of vino in the wine rack and we have champagne in the closet as well. Elise and I are ready to show who is the boss at "Wizard" and maybe it will be me, smile! Lookout Loraine, I going to be gunning for you when we meet again.

Well, I had better get myself together and start my card game exercises so I can be loose and ready to throw down with authority.
Later...............Jessie & Elise

Music listening to: You and Me by Natalie Cole

It's A Thirsty Thursday. How are you doing? I started the day off at 4:00am with them help of Lambchop barking away at something. Any plans for today?

The coffee is good and I will have a nice muffin to go along with my second cup. Elise is still counting those zzzz's but she will be up soon. Angelica will be here this morning to care for Chris. Elise and Chris will be getting a massage later this morning from Donna.

Well, I have to tell you that my herb crusted turkey breast was delicious. Elise, Rosie and I dined very well last night. So all of you well known chefs lookout the new cooks are up and coming, smile! We had to just stop eating or we would have consumed the whole thing. The yams were perfect and the Quinoa that Elise prepared was very, very good.

We will be having guests over for dinner this evening and we will be playing a game or two of "Wizard". Rosie will be here this evening to care for Chris. Well, I had better get busy and get this day rolling. Have a good one.
Later.......Jessie & Elise

Buona Sera!

Buona Sera!

Well, for a Monday it has been a good one. I got my errands taken care of and I returned home and I relaxed for the rest of the day. I received a beautiful floral arrangement from one of my dearest friends who lives in New Orleans. It is very nice and I let her know that I appreciated it. What a talent!

Chris and I watched TV this afternoon until Elise arrived home. Elise prepared breakfast for dinner instead of Butterbeans. We had homemade waffles, link sausages and hot coffee. We watched a couple of episodes of Friday Night Lights with Chris, it is a good series.

I am caring for Chris this evening and Elise just left for practice with the Tucson Women's Chorus. Well, I had better get back to work with Chris. Have a great evening and sleep well.
Later.......Jessie & Elise

Tiger, Marcie, Jet have a good one.

It's A Monday! Buon Giorno!

Good Morning

Mood: Cautious

Music listening to: Funky Good Time by James Brown (classic R&B)

Monday Again! How are you doing? I started the day off at 4:55am caring for Chris. Elise is not in her cave this morning and she is stirring around a bit. She will be up and on the move very soon. Any plans for today?

I have to run a couple of errands today and that is about it. The coffee is good this morning and I had some leftovers from breakfast that we had yesterday. Sunday was a restful day for us. We watched a movie called "Season of the Witch" with Chris and he loved it. After Rosie arrived to care for Chris we went to the movies to see " Albert Nobbs" it was very good and very well done with a surprise ending.

Well, as promised here is what happened on our short stay in Silver City, New Mexico. Enjoy, we did!

22 Apr 12

We left the house at around 8:15am and we went to Gus Balones for breakfast. We got our usual and it was great. After breakfast we headed for Bookman's to buy a book on tape because the CD player in the Tacoma bit the dust and we may have to get a new one or a new Tacoma, smile!

The trip was uneventful and quick and we broke in our new GPS while we listened to the book on tape. We arrived in Silver City and we checked into the Palace Hotel a funky hotel right in downtown Silver City. It was built in 1882 and we loved it.

We are going to explore as soon as we relax with a few Jack and Cokes. We walked around downtown and we stopped at a couple of antique shops and looked around and in the windows of shops that were closed. We walked by several restaurants and we decided to stop at Mexican food place called "Jaliscos" the food was very good there. Elise had tacos, one made with shredded beef, one with hamburger and one with chicken. She also had rice and beans. I had enchiladas that were very spicy. The salsa and chips were very good hot. We both ordered a beer to get all of that food down. They did not make margaritas so we did not yell out Ole'. We also stopped in a shop called Lotta Gelato and we sat down and pigged out. Elise got lemon and I got butter pecan. Excellent! We returned to our room and watched TV and worked on crosswords before we called it a night.

23- Mar-12

We slept very well and got up at around 8:00am. I went down the hall to see what was being offered at the free continental breakfast buffet. It was not up to my protein quota as Elise calls it. So we walked over to "Nancy's Cafe" for breakfast. It was very good. Elise had "desanyo mexicano eggs, jalapenos, onions, salsa and refried beans with corn tortillas. I got the chorizo and eggs, with beans and flour tortillas. Once again the salsa was great.

After breakfast we walked through the "art' district and we went into a few galleries. One of the owners of a gallery was a woman from Berlin Art School.. Her work was very good , but it is very expensive! A tee shirt she did would cost you $125.00 and some of her painting were close to $10,000.00. A far cry from Wal Mart, eh?

We returned to our room for a short break before we headed out again. We got into the Tacoma and we headed for Glenwood, New Mexico. We went there to visit the famous "Cat Walk. It took about an hours drive to get there from Silver City. We walked the Cat Walk and it was great fun but we were a bit over dressed due to we went by what the weather was forecast to be and it was about 15 to 20 degrees warmer. We walked the Cat Walk for a total of 2.2 miles and it just about did us both in, smile! We gassed up the Tacoma at $3.89 per gallon and we headed back to Silver City with sore quads and feet.

We took a much need rest back at the Palace Hotel and of course a few Jack and Cokes were the right prescription to get rid of some of those ache and pains from the Cat Walk. At around 5:30pm or so we headed out for some dinner. We went to the "Buckhorn Saloon and Opera House in Pinos Altos, it is north of Silver City. Janice and Frank told us about it and man was it good. Elise got the Quail with spinach, and a baked potato. I got the ribeye , fries, and spinach. I have to tell you the spinach was really good. I don't know of anyone who raves about spinach but we did. We shared a bottle of red to get it down. For dessert we had coffee and chocolate mousse the was excellent and Elise compared it to some she has had in Europe. The dinner was a bit pricey, $106.00 but it was very good and we were on a mini-vacation, right? We returned to Silver City and we watched TV and we called it a night, a very good day.

24-Mar 12

I got up at 7:30am and Elise was still purring away with thoughts of the chocolate mousse I bet, smile! After Elise got herself in motion we went to "Vickie's" for breakfast about two blocks away from the hotel. Elise got the chili cheese omelet and I got the smoked sausages and eggs. I got the had browns and Elise got the home fries but they were under cooked. We walked back to the room and we were watching the John Wayne movie " The Searchers. Now we were packing up and getting ready to head back to Tucson. It was a very nice trip and we really enjoyed it but it was a short one that went by too fast.

Well, there you have it. The pics are from our exploring the city and the Cat Walk. Enjoy!

Tiger, Marcie, Jet have a good day.

Loraine, what are you up to?

Elaine, how are you?

Ross, so sorry to hear about the passing of your friend.

Shoo and Stu, have a good day.

Sara, we hope that you can make it to the beach in San Diego.

Shirlene, how are you?

Sis, what is new in the ATL?

Herman, did you take any photos of the cruise?

Buon Giorgno!

Good Morning
Mood: Used!! Kids!
Music listening to: Funky Stuff by Kool and the Gang
How are you doing? Well we started our day off by having a wonderful breakfast with Paula and Marty at the Egg Connection. The food is always good there and it was nice to spend some time with them. Thank you Paula and Marty for great way to start the day.
I am still gathering info about our trip to Silver City, New Mexico and I am picking out the best pics to include with the next posting. We had a very nice time and it was very relaxing to be in a sleepy little city. More to come!
We had a wonderful dinner with Loraine and Jim last night at "Feast". The food is excellent and the place was packed by the time we left. After dinner we met up at Loraine's house for some Wizard.
I have to tell that I have been in training for the past few weeks for this meeting. I have been doing my shuffling exercises and my dealer exercises as well. I have even done some wrist and and finger strengthening too! I got my slap that card on the table down pat. I was ready to be the "Wizard Master".
Well, all of that training did not pay off one bit. Elise beat everyone and then it was Loraine and then me and last it was Jim. I must tell you that I was at loss fro words. I think my down fall was that I should not had eaten that asparagus custard at Feast. Smile! I am sure that I should not have had that glass of "Big Ass Red"while we were playing. I think that Loraine had that all planned out that way. She loaded me up with a decadent dessert that was out of this world. That and that glass of "Big Ass Red'' was my doom. Loraine, you are a sly one!
After we played "Wizard" we played "Yahtzee and things started to change. That's right I became a Yahtzee Master. WhooHoo! I had the magic touch when it came to rolling those dice. So now I will practice shooting "Crap" because I am good at that. Smile! It was a wonderful evening and it has been quite a while since we have been together to take a "Wiz" smile! Thank you Loraine and Jim for a nice "Big Ass" evening. I must find out where she got that bottle of "Big Ass Red" so we can be prepared for future gaming events.
Elise is caring for Chris right now and he still has some congestion. We started him on a anti-bi and that should clear him up a bit. We are going to go to the movies this evening after Rosie arrives to care for Chris. We are going to the Crossroads Theatre to see " Albert Knobs starring Glen Close.
Have a great day and a wonderful evening. Beware tomorrow is Monday!
Later........Jessie & Elise
Tiger,Marcie, Jet have a good one. Jet how is the thin tepee working out?
Loraine and Jim, thank you for a "Big Ass" evening it was a lot of fun.
Shoo and Stu, how are things?
Herman and Donna, so glad that you enjoyed your cruise.
Sara, how are you doing? Did you get the email with our booking for the games?
Ross and Denise, glad that the weather has gotten better. Wow!
Flo and John, how are you?

We will have our laptop and camera and I hope to take some good shots while we are there. We had a very nice dinner last night at Rio and the food was excellent as usual. The Kingston Trio concert was very, very good and the place was packed from floor to ceiling. What a show and they deserved the many standing ovations that they received.

We hope that all is well around your way? Have a good day and a better tomorrow.

He had a fever last night with a cough and he was wheezing. For his wheezing I may have to give him a breathing treatment of Albuterol 5%.

He is quiet this morning and he wheezes every now and then. The bad part is that now I am starting to cough, and my chest is starting to get congested and my stomach is upset as well. Not a good time to get sick, eh? I have no idea where Chris got this but by me being in close contact with him all of the time we share many illnesses.

Elise is in her cave this morning and she is guiding ships into port, smile. She will be up soon to start her day. Any plans for today?

Well today has been a chilly one and it was the same way at the DDC, so I left in a hurry, smile! Elise prepared a very nice breakfast for dinner. We had pancakes, sausages, eggs and hot coffee. We watched a few more episodes of Friday Night Lights, it is getting better and better. We do miss Mad Men though. We completed our packing for our trip to Silver City, New Mexico it should be very interesting and fun and cold, smile!

Well, I had better get busy with Chris. He is not feeling well today and I will keep a close eye on him. He is talking up a storm right now but he is developing a cough and that is not good at all. Have a great evening and get prepared for Hump Day!

Well, this Monday has been in true form. It barely got to be 50 degrees today. It rained, hailed, snowed and we even got thunder boomers. I did get my errands taken care of though and that was a good thing.

Elise prepared some and sandwiches for dinner. It was very good and we got it all down with root beer. We are watching a new series called "Friday Night Lights" it is good and Chris loves it. It is about high school football and all that goes along with it in a small town in Texas.
