Tricky Tuesday!!

Good Morning

Mood: Cautious

Music listening to: It Takes Two by Marvin Gaye and Tammy Terrell

What's up? I started the day off at 4:40am caring for Chris. Elise is not in her cave and she is stirring about. So that is telling me that she will be up and on the move very soon. Any plans for today?

Angelica will be here this morning to care for Chris and I have to run a errand this morning while she is here. The coffee is good and another bowl of oats is in order. I may add a slice of ham to go along with it as well.

Well, here a bit more about our trip to the Chiricahua's. Enjoy! Have a good Tuesday and be careful out there.
Later.......Jessie & Elise

Tiger, Marcie, Jet stay safe.

Loraine, practice everyday because I have earned my pointy Wizard hat.

Jane and John, what are you up to?

Olivia, what is new around your way?

Erika, how are things?

14 April 12

We woke up at around 8:00am Elise said that she did not sleep well because her feet would not warm up. She did not wear thick socks but I did. I started a fire in the pit and Elise went into the cabin to fix some oatmeal and I followed her in and I put on a pot of coffee. That coffee and oatmeal hit the spot.

We sat around the fire and relaxed until 10:00am. Sheila had not arrived yet so we hiked to the Bathtub. The water level was low and it was filled with soot and gravel. We are hoping that it gets dredged out soon.We returned to the cabin and Sheila had arrived with her two pugs.

We sat around the table and we made sandwiches and we ate chips and we downed a few beers. After eating we sat around the fire to read books and to work on crossword puzzles until it got to be "Happy Hour". It was 2:30pm but it was 5:00pm somewhere am I correct? Smile!

Elise and I had Jack and Coke and Sheila had gin and tonic. It so peaceful but the weather started to change on us. It started to get cold and we were being rained on off and on.

We were joined by Susan and Brian from Douglas. Along with them were Ana and her husband Luis. Ana was a foreign exchange student and Elise went to school with both Susan and Ana.

I put on my Grill Master hat and I stared the grill going. I put on steaks and I put my skills on the grill to work. Sheila and I like our steaks med to med well. Elise and everyone else likes theirs medium rare and still moving when you put it on the plate. So that means that you would have to stab it a few time while it is on your plate to keep it from making a run for it. Smile!

We also had beans and a squash casserole that Sheila made. We also had chips and salsa and cottage cheese as well. We downed sodas, beer, and of course more Jack and Coke and gin and tonics. It is now about 41 degrees and getting colder but that did not deter us from enjoying the meal. I am sure that everyone was shivering at some point or was it just me?

After dinner was over we all sat and stood around the fire pit and talked and it began to rain more and then it started to hail and snow. It was great! It had started to get dark so Susan and company decided to call it game over and head back to Douglas. It was a good time.

We sat around the fire pit for a little while longer and chatted and we listened to music on Sheila's Ipod. It started to get colder so we called it a night and we cleaned up and we hit the tent and Sheila hit the cabin. If it got o bad we could have joined Sheila in the cabin, but we roughed it, smile!Elise back had started to hurt and she slept but not well.

15 April 12

We got up at around 7:15am and we started to get ready to secure the campsite and do some final cleaning. We took the tent down and packed it up and we loaded up the Tacoma. Sheila packed up and she secured the cabin. We went to the Portal Store and Lodge for breakfast. Elise had ham and eggs, Sheila had bacon and eggs and I had country fried steak and eggs. We all had plenty of coffee. We said our goodbyes and we headed back to Tucson. It was a fun trip and we are planning on returning again in September.

Here are a few more pics!Did you see the snow falling in a couple of the pics?
