What's Sup?

What's Sup?

Well, Angelica is here to care for Chris. So that frees me up to post on our blog. Here is a bit more about our trip to Italia. Enjoy!

10 Oct 12

We started our day at 10:30am. Can you believe that? We slept much better. Either it is quieter on the street or we are getting used to it. I think it is the later for sure. We are becoming Italian.

We ate breakfast. We both had so nice hot coffee. Elise has a bowl of Muesli with fruit and I had a half of an apple. Elise ate the other half.  We got dressed and we planned our day.

We grabbed our map and we headed for the "Galleria de Uffizi. Once we got to the gallery we stopped at a trattoria and we had panini's , beer and a strawberry mouse. It was so good.

We bypassed all of the lines with our Firenze Card and we went inside of the Uffizi. We spent over three hours in this gallery because it is huge. We saw painting, sculptures of kings, queens, dukes, duchesses, and a whole lot of nude statues. It was wonderful.

After the Uffizi we wanted to sit down and give our feet a rest, they needed it badly, smile! After our short break we continued our journey. It lead us to a cafe called " Corona's Cafe'. We had a couple more panini's and a few more beers. Can you see a pattern developing here? Panini's and beer? We are hooked on panini's, they are so good and very filling, and the beer helps, smile!

After that wonderful break we needed to find a phone so we could give Rosemary a call to remind her to call in Chris's prescription refills. Then we journey around some of the Piazza's and we bought a second elephant and a turtle figurine from a street vendor from Africa for 10 euros.

We returned to our B&B and we took a short nap. Hey, we earned that nap let me tell you. We crawled up again and it was time for some dinner. On our way to find a place to chow down at guess what? We came across a public phone that was right around the corner from our B&B, who knew! Right then we thought that we needed to cool it with those good beers. NOT! It was just a thought that came and went just that fast, smile!

We also found a laundromat right near the phone as well. So now we can wash our clothes if need be. We are becoming locals for sure.

We found a place to eat about a block and a half from our B&B. We cannot remember the name but it is an "Oysteria. The weather is perfect and we decided to eat outside and people watch. Good choice!

We had on light shirts over our tee shirts, it was perfect. We ordered a good bottle of Chianti Classico 2008 for 28 euros. The same bottle of Chianti cost us $75.00 in Tucson. It was heavenly!

Elise ordered spaghetti with clams and faggoli (beans with tomato sauce. I ordered a pork cutlet in balsamic vinegar with roasted potatoes. I was in heaven. Yummy! We ordered dessert we shared a panini con strawberries. It was fit for a king and queen. To top that off I ordered some Grappa and Elise ordered limencello. Our bill came to 85 euros. DELICIOSO!

We meet a couple at the Oysteria who were from Louisville, Kentucky. They decided to eat there because we were raving about the food. We hope that they enjoyed it as much as we did. They were on their 50th wedding anniversary!

We headed back to our B&B. What a grand day in Florence, Italy. We got back to our room and we called it game over.
