Mid Morning

Hello Again

Well, I have a bit of free time to tell you about our very short stay-cation in Safford, Arizona here goes:

We got Rosemary to to care for Chris on Thursday afternoon and we left for Safford. We stopped on the airbase the get gas and some cash. We listened to a book on CD a Spencer Novel, we love the Spencer series.

We arrived at the the Olney House and we called Chris the owner to let him know that we were there finally. We stayed in the bridal room like we did when we visited before, it is a very nice cozy room. We put in our order for breakfast and we relaxed and settled into our room.

We went to eat dinner at a Mexican place called Casa Manana, ate there the last time we visited Safford. Elise had a taco, tostada and beans and rice. I had enchiladas with beans and rice and we washed it all down with soft drinks due to they did not have a liquor license, but the place was packed and the food was great.

Earlier in the day we got our massage at the Kachina Hot Springs and we soaked in the spring water that was great and very relaxing. It has been a very stressful two days besides having the caregiver problem the water line to the refrigerator started to leak on the tile floor. If we had not noticed it prior to leaving we would have had a flood to deal with on our return. When it rains, it pours, eh?

We played video games on the laptop for 2 and 1/2 hours and we ate popcorn and and drank way too much Jack and Coke but it was a lot of fun. We advanced to a new level, smile. After that we called it a night.

We woke up at around 8:00am the next morning and we got dressed and we went down for breakfast. We had plenty of coffee, toast, fried potatoes, ham slices and scrambled eggs, very good. Our host Chris told us about the furnishings in the house being purchased in England and Europe where he and his wife were stationed while in the military. Very nice antiques. After breakfast we took a walk around the neighborhood area and we took a few photos as we walked along. Safford seems to be growing and more new homes are popping up everywhere. It was a bit cold out while we were on the walk so we put on a jacket and the pick up was iced over, something that we don't see to much of in Tucson.

We packed up and we headed home, we listened to some more of the Spenser CD on the way. We arrived home and we unpacked the truck and we headed to the movies to see Pirate Radio and it was good. After that we went to Oregano's and we had a nice bottle of Cab and we had a thin crust pizza that was outstanding. We also got a couple of Bellini's for dessert and they hit the spot and gave us both brain freeze, but well worth it.

Well, there you have it our very short stay in Safford,it was a good trip and we needed to relax and we did just that.

Later.................

The photos were taken at the B&B and during our walk in Safford.
