TGIF

Good Morning

Mood: Content

Music listening to: Riding With The King by BB King and Eric Clapton

TGIF!!! How are you doing this morning? I started the day off at 5:55am caring for Chris. Elise is calling all hogs but she will be up and about soon. I actually was awake at 2:10am this morning due to a dream that I had that was interesting to say the least.

I was awakened by the Good Witch of the Wizard of Oz, I am not kidding. She said that she had a surprise for me and she waved her wand and she disappeared. In her place was a crystal ball on a Wizard of Oz slot machine that we like to play. All of a sudden the screen went blank and then across the screen it read you are a big winner. Music and sounds began to play and it said congratulations you have won 200,000 credits. I thought to myself wow, this is great, then I woke up and I tossed and turned until I got up at 5:55am. Was the Good Witch telling me something? Smile!

Hey the coffee is good and I tried another sweet roll again this morning. We had a very nice dinner last night at Las Margaritas with Mum, Lois and Lee. We were disappointed that Toni didn't make because we haven't seen her in quite a while. Come to find out that she was not feeling well and she could not make it.

The food was good and I had the enchiladas, refried beans, a tostada and rice. Mum had tacos with rice and beans with a Miller's Lite in a frosted mug. She also had flan for dessert with coffee. I think Elise got tacos as well but I am not sure due to the two Margaritas that I had and so did Elise, smile. We returned home and we finished watching a DVD called "44 Inch Chest" it was very, very good. Elise decided to call it a night and I checked on Chris after Kecia left for the evening.

I have to run a couple of errands this morning before Elise's Marathon Bridge session kicks off. I have to get some tees sent out to people who have ordered them. I will also pick up one of the bridge players for Elise as well. Well, you have a great day and a better weekend. As promised here is a bit about out Las Vegas trip, enjoy...................

Later.............

Las Vegas or Bust 4-13-10

Our departure was delayed by a couple of hours due to the caregiver Kecia didn't show up on time due to having car trouble in the car she was riding in. She said that someone was coming to pick her up and we waited for two hours and then I called Rosemary to let her know that Kecia did not arrive so that meant she had to come in her place, since she was supposed to be taking care of Chris originally.

After Rosemary arrived we left and headed for Phoenix. We stopped at a Waffle House to have breakfast that was pretty good. Elise got eggs, hash browns and I got eggs, hash browns and 3 pork chops. Yes, I said three pork chops that I dutifully shared with Elise. We had plenty of coffee and the bill was only $16.87,not bad at all. We continued on our way Las Vegas and we listened to a book on CD called "Stones into Schools" by Greg Mortenson about building schools in Afghanistan.

We had to wait for about half an hour or so when we turned off of I-17 going to Wickenburg due to road work. It seems like we always have to wait for something when we go to Vegas. Our GPS was having fits for some reason telling us to go back and route recalculation. When we went though the Hoover Dam, we were impressed at how much they had done on the bridge since we were last there. It is very high and almost complete.

We arrived at Circus Circus at about 7:30pm. We chose this place to stay because we have never stayed there before and we liked it a lot. We got settled and we hit the casino. We were on the floor until 12:30am and then we returned to our room with $100.00 more than we left with. We spent $100.00 and won $210.00, pretty good and lot's of fun. We stopped in McDonalds for dinner, $18.00 and then we hit the casino floor again and downed the 4 free drinks, while we were playing. Mostly penny slots and nickel slots, but we did have a go at the quarter and dollar slots as well. Elise was beat so she returned to the room and I continued to play until my ticket ran out and then I called it a night.

4-14-10

We got up at around 8:30am. Elise watched In The Heat Of The Night on TV before she got up. We went to have breakfast at around 10:00am. Elise had oatmeal and I had eggs, potatoes, ham and cheese on toast. After breakfast we returned to our room to get ready to head to the Luxor to pick up our show tickets for this evening. We arrived at the Luxor at 3:45pm. We walked the strip most of the time and we stopped at the Excalibur to play a few slots. We also stopped at Bellagio to watch and listen to the fountain and water display. Absolutely wonderful and the music makes Elise glad to be alive and I concur with that. Before we left to get the tickets Elise we played a few slots and then Elise took lessons on how to play Roulette. She will try her luck at it tomorrow.

We went to the show called Menopause The Musical and it was very good and we had great seats. It was very funny and the music was great. Most of all I was glad that I was not the only guy watching it, smile. After the show we played a few slots in the Luxor and then we ate dinner there. Elise had the salmon an had a steak with mushrooms and I quickly gave those to Elise. I didn't like my potatoes because they were over-cooked. We also had a salad and dessert. Elise had a flourless chocolate cake and I had cheesecake. We both had had two glasses of red. The cost for the dinner was $131.00 with tip. After dinner we were stuffed so we took a cab back to Circus Circus for $20.00 with tip. Elise was very tired and she bought 3 tee-shirts and she called it a day and I played a few more slots before I called it quits.

4-15-10

We got up at 9:00am. We went to eat breakfast at the buffet ($22.00). Elise had eggs with cheese, tator tots, ham, bacon and stewed prunes and coffee. I had the same but I also got a blintz, sausage and corn beef hash and coffee. Then we played the slots and we lost $100.00. We played most of the afternoon and it was still fun. We got a couple of free drinks Elise had two Bloody Mary's and I stuck with Jack. We got some free chips and salsa and we headed to our room to play computer games on the laptop. We played on the laptop until 6:00pm. Then we decided to walk the strip and the weather was nice. We stopped at Bellagio to watch the waterfall show, it was excellent in the darkness. We continued to walk to strip on the opposite side of the street going back to our hotel.

We stopped in Bill's casino and we played a few slots for about 45 minutes on a one $20.00 bill. We took what was left of the $20.00 and we moved on to Harrah's, were I added $10.00 to what was left from the $20. Then we moved on to eh Flamingo and we spent the last of the $10.00 on the Wizard of Oz. Elise had put in about $2.00 of the $10.00 an she won the big win at least the what the machine showed on the screen. A total of $213.00 she won. We left the casino in jubilant spirits, we walked back to Circus Circus. We wanted to eat prime rib but every restaurant was closed so we stopped in McDonalds for dinner and we ate for $14.00. Elise said I was a cheap date!! We both had a cheeseburger with fries and Elise got a plain sundae. Very good day. We returned to our room to crash. We are leaving in the morning heading back to Tucson.

4-16-10

We were up at 8:50am and ready to go. We discovered that we still had a ticket to spend at the casino so we did and we played the Wizard of Oz with no luck but it was fun to play it. We checked out and we stopped in Kingman for breakfast that was very good. It was a very small place but the service was excellent. We arrived back in Tucson around 3:00pm. It was a very nice trip, because we love going to Vegas. It gets harder and harder to get back to normal after our trips I guess because we know that it is a fantasy and we have to get back to the real world. I wonder where we will be going next?

The photos are just a few that we took, not many this trip but Elvis is alive and well walking the streets in Vegas, thank you very much!

Sounds like you had a great time! I haven't been to Vegas in such a long time, I probably wouldn't recognize most of it.
