We Are Boiling Here In Tucson!

Afternoon,

Well Chris's appointment went well and I got all of my errands taken care of except one. I will get that one done tomorrow. We are cooking here in the Old Pueblo, I bet you could scramble up some eggs on the street, and add a few jalapenos and you will have a good meal, yummy!

Well, here is how are trip to Washington went. We would like to thank Sandy, Roy and Susie for showing us a grand time. It was like we were at home but much cooler, smile. The trip was very relaxing and that was all due to our hosts, we loved it.

The caregiver arrives with her two girls and Chris was very happy to see them. We left at about 2:00pm and we checked into a Marriott hotel near the airport thanks to my brother Herman and the great rates he gets for us. This one was a suite and it was only $59.00 a night. After we settled in we left for the Desert Diamond Casino to meet with Janice and Frank. We ate prime rib with the works to include three glasses of red for a total of $24.00 plus tip. Yep, you heard me right and it was delicious.

We also heard that Buddy's Grill was closing and that saddened us because they had the best pork chops in Tucson. We played a few slots and after dinner and we spent $360.00 and we won $596.00 not bad at all. We returned to our room early because we had to be up early to catch our flight. A good day.

We arrived at the airport at 5:40am and our flight departs at 6:45am. We checked in and we shared an omelet, beans, potatoes and coffee. We boarded and we arrived in L.A. then we departed and we arrived in Oakland and then we arrived in Seattle at 12:10pm. We did not have to deplane at anytime and that was good. While we were in the baggage area Susie called to see if we had made it in yet. She was in the cell phone parking lot and she was on her way to pick us up.

It was so good to see Susie as always. We stopped in at Susie's Mom's house and we picked her up and we had lunch together at Denny's. We took Susie's Mom back home and we headed for Sandy and Roy's home. What a beautiful home let me tell you, wow! We unloaded the car and we settled into our room. Susie really went all out to make the room extra nice and we loved it. We sat out on the Roy's big deck and we throw back some red and watched ships in the bay. It is a wonderful place.

Later Susie, Sandy, Elise and I went to the casino that was run by a Native American tribe here and we played slots. It was fun and we had a great time, but we did not fare that well, smile. Then we went to a hamburger joint called "The Onion Burger" and they have great burgers. I had the pulled pork sandwich that was very good. We downed a couple of whiskey and cokes and I ordered a drink called "Dangerous Dave" which had a bunch of different liquors in it. The limit for that drink was only two to a customer. Roy joined us at the Union Burger had just returned from a flight from India, he is a pilot. Roy gave Elise a beautiful silk jacket from India and it fit her perfectly. We returned to the house and we called it a night, I am sure that Roy was exhausted. A wonderful day.

We we were up at 9:30am and the smell of bacon was in the air. It is better than any alarm clock let me tell you. We joined Roy, Susie and Sandy and we had scrambled eggs, bacon, fresh peaches and strawberries and of course plenty of coffee. After breakfast we headed out to catch the ferry to Seattle, Sandy did not come with us on this outing. The ferry ride was great and the views were great. Then we caught the bus to Pikes Market and that was very entertaining. Lot's of shops selling flowers, fresh fish, pottery, t-shirts,silks, wood carvings etc. We stopped at restaurant and we had clam chowder and a few glasses of red for lunch. The name of the wine was "Buried Cane".

We got on the monorail to go to the "Space Needle" and we went to the top and what a view and it was very chilly up there. We were dressed for the weather but another layer of clothing would have been great, smile. We got back on the bus and we returned to catch the ferry back but we missed it by a minute. So we waited for the next one at 6:45pm. We got back to our parking garage and we headed to "Anthony" for dinner. We will meet Sandy and Adam there. Adam is Susie's son. We were in for a treat at Anthony's let me tell you. The food was excellent! Elise had halibut and fresh salmon. I had a rock fish fixed Cajun style, blackened and spicy it was delicious. We also had clam chowder and it was the best that I have ever had anywhere, wow was it good.

We returned home and we got undressed and we hit the jacuzzi. Roy,Elise and I enjoyed the nice soothing warm water. Susie got back from taking Adam home and we all looked at the photos that were taken while we were in Seattle. We called it a night what a night to remember.

We started the day early and we looked out of the window and there was a dear and her two small "Bambi" deer eating some of Sandy flowers in the backyard. What a sight that was. We had a small breakfast and we got packed up and ready to head out for the Quinault Resort and Casino. I posted the website to it on the blog and in emails last week. What a beautiful drive and the scenery was great, so many trees and so green. Tons of blooming flowers everywhere. We got checked into our rooms and we stopped in the restaurant for a quick snack and them we hit the casino. It was fun playing the slots there and watching Susie hope for free games, what fun. I had wings for lunch and fries and Elise had a hamburger and fries no bun. It was about 58 degrees mid afternoon and were right on the ocean. We did not do so well with the slots.

Later we went down for dinner Susie had scallops, Elise had prawns, Roy had Dugenous crab and I had you guessed it pork chops, I just had to see how they were there and they were great. We shared a bottle of red and our bill came to $125.00 plus tip, what a spread. We went back into the casino and and things got much better I won $310.00 on a penny machine. It was getting late so I had to stop and join Elise in the room because we had to leave early to get to the airport. Fantastic evening!

17 Jun 11

We were up at 5:30am getting ready and packed so we could head to the airport in Seattle. We checked out at 7:00am and we were on our way. It would take about 3 hours to get to the airport but we got there in 2 hours. Elise said that it was due to Roy's demonic driving, smile. Roy drives very well and he has great reflexes. We got to Seattle and we ate breakfast at Denny's. We got to the airport and unloaded and we said our goodbyes and we thanked everyone for showing us a great time. It was a very good trip and we were tired when we got home, but we stopped at Buddy's Grill and yes it is closed for good. So we went to the "Outback" instead and Elise had the filet, I had the sirloin and we both had lobster tails. We downed a few glasses of red and for desert we shared a Wallaby darn. We drove home and that ended a great mini-vacation. We will back in Seattle in September to start our Alaskan Cruise.

Well, there you have it and we enjoyed every moment of the trip. The photos above are just a few that we taken.

Later.................

We had such a great time during your visit too! It's nice to be able to play tourist because I don't usually do that much when I'm here. It was great reading your recap of the events and reliving the fun once again. Looking forward to seeing you again when you come up for your cruise in the fall. So glad you had a good time!
PS - My hair looks pretty scary in a couple of those photos!!!

Buon Pomeriggio!

Buon Pomeriggio! How is your Domenica going so far? I have to tell you that mine is just not the same. I am usually doing my Domenica tasks ...
