Good Morning

Mood: Relaxed

Music listening to: Tea a relaxation CD

How are you? I started the day of at 5:30am looking in on Chris. Elise is caring for Chris this morning. I have my coffee cup in hand and it is very good. Any plans for today?

Elise prepared an excellent dinner that consisted of braised pork chops that was a little over one inch thick, sweet peas and baked potatoes and veggies. It was delicious, and yes we had a couple of glasses of red. We also watched a DVD called Santos. It is about the struggle that baseball players endure trying to make it to the minor league. The players were from the Dominican Republic and the language was a major stepping stone. A very good movie, we enjoyed it a lot.

After Rosemary arrived to care for Chris we went to see the movie The Road and it was excellent. A very touching movie about survival in a world that has been through a catastrophic event. We are going to go out for breakfast with Elise's Mum this morning to the Hometown Buffet her favorite place. We didn't get to watch the Cat's play yesterday because it was not available on our station. They play today at 1:30pm and will watch it then.

We will watch the Superbowl today and Elise and I have a bet on. I am for the Saints don't you know. So the bet is the winner of the bet will buy the bottle of wine when we go out to eat at Flemings. A good bet indeed. Well,I had better get busy. Have a good Sunday.

Later.............

Howdy

Hello,

As noted in a previous posting, here is a bit about our recent staycation here in Tucson, AZ.

We started our staycation on 20 Jan 2010 by having breakfast at Gus Balone's on the east side of Tucson. Elise got the country ham with potatoes and eggs and I got the pork chops with potatoes and eggs. We had plenty of coffee as well.

We stopped by Park Mall get to get tickets to see Avatar in Extreme 3D for the 22nd of Jan. We checked into to Marriott at the Williams Center and we unpacked and relaxed. We played video games on the laptop and we chowed down on a tuna fish and jalapeno dip that I made the day before. It goes very well with corn chips. We also had a few Jack and Coke's while we played the games. As a matter of fact we played the games for several hours and yes, you guessed it we had several Jack's, smile. That was pretty much it for our first night at the Marriott, very restful.

We started the next day slowly and the weather has prevented me from taking any photos due to the rain, wind, and the cool temps. We took a walk around the the William Center area and we returned to our room. This staycation is a real relaxer this time. We continued to play games on the laptop and we watched a little TV as well mostly to keep track of the weather. We also listened to a book on CD called The Help and it is very good and hard to stop listening too once you get started. Later that evening we went to Eclectic Pizza to order some pizza for dinner to go. While we waited we talked and had a glass of red. We got our pizza and we returned to our room to eat and play more games until about 10:30pm and we called it a night.

The next morning we listened to the news on the TV about how the storms was doing now. We went across the street for breakfast at the Good Egg and the food was very good. We then took another walk around the Williams Center and it is was a bit windy at times. We returned to our room and we listened to some more of the book on CD. After that we began to pack up to check out of the Marriott. We checked out and we stopped by the house to unpack and to see how Chris and Rosemary were doing. We left for Park Mall to see Avatar and it is a fantastic movie and the theater was great. Wonderful seats and great sound and picture. The movie was very, very good.

We left Park Mall and then we went to The Doubletree Inn for dinner. We had a soup and salad and we both had the prime rib that was great with veggies and potatoes. We also had a couple of glasses of red to accompany the meal. For dessert we had strawberry shortcake that was very good too. After dinner we returned home to further relax. After Marv left I checked on Chris and then we called it a night. It was a good staycation, sorry that the weather was just not good for photos. We are looking forward to our next staycation or mini-trip.

How are you getting along? I started the day off at 5:45am looking in on Chris and getting him settled. Elise will be caring for Chris this morning. I am grinding up some coffee beans this morning and that means the coffee will be outstanding.

We had a relaxing day yesterday and took thing slow and easy. We waited for Rosemary to show up to care for Chris we watched a few basketball games on TV. Rosemary did not show up but Kecia did to care for Chris which was a surprise to us.

We left to visit Jeanne and we were running just a bit late due to we needed to stop at the grocery store, but we called to let her know that we were on the way. We arrived and we were greeted by Dave, Jeanne's son. While the group played bridge Dave and I watched basketball on TV. Of course I had a nice Jack and coke while watching. I was all geared up to watch our Wildcats play ASU in a rivalry game that is always good. We left Jeanne's and we said our good-byes and I go set to watch the Cat's play and it was a very good game. The Cat's beat ASU pretty good, a very good game.

After Kecia left I checked on Chris and we called it a night. We are going to go out for breakfast this morning with Elise's Mum as usual. Later this evening we are going to go out to dinner with Elise's Mum and Paula and Marty whom we haven't seem in a while. There you have it our day in a nutshell. Well, I had better get busy, have a good day and stay safe.

The photos above are of the mountains with snow on them.

Our stay was a very quite and very restful one. I will give more details in my next posting. We have to get back into the swing of things and come back down to earth. We go rained on pretty good last night and we needed it let me tell you. We desert dwellers always need the rain.

We got a call this morning from the caregiver to let us know that she would not be here this morning to care for Chris, due to she had to take her daughter to the doctor. So I will be caring for Chris until Rosemary arrives this afternoon at 1:00pm. I just closed up my suitcase and I will load up Elise's as well into the pickup.

We will be headed out for our staycation at the Marriott after Rosemary arrives. I was going to go to Elise's Tai Chi class with her but since Kecia is not going to be here I will not. While we are on our staycation we will be hiking in Sabino Canyon and going to see Avatar at Park Mall. We will also visit Jeanne in the Foothills tomorrow for a short time as well.

Good Night,

The day has come to a close. It has been a good day and things went rather well. After Kecia left I cared for Chris for the rest of the day. Elise was not feeling up to working out on the Wii and neither was I.

Elise went to her book club meeting and I continued to care for Chris. I took Chris over to his house and I got him settled for the evening. Elise returned from her book club and she brought me back some dinner and a drink.

After Chris falls asleep I will join Elise in the main house and call it a night. We both are still not feeling well. I hope we are feeling better in the morning so we can enjoy our first day of staycation. Have a good night and a better tomorrow.

Well the day is closing and it has been a pretty good one for a Monday. I got quite a bit done today and I even took time for a break. I got confirmation of my book orders for my classes and they are on the way. How has your day been?

We have started to pack for our upcoming staycation that starts this Wednesday. We will be right here in Tucson at one of the Marriott hotels, thanks to my brother Herman. Good Afternoon

How is your Monday going so far? Things are going well here so far. Elise just finished up a Wii workout and it just about did her in. I just finished my first lecture in my Psyc 110 class out of Yale online. It is very interesting and the professor is a crackup with his jokes.

I must tell you that the books are expensive as they can be, but I will complete the course. I am also taking a refresher course in Marketing out of Texas A&M that I started on the 13th of Jan 10. I am also going to develop a web site for a clothing/art venture with Ann's son Eric. Ann is Elise's sister. So I have many things going on at the present time so I will not get bored at all. I may also enhance JT's Respite Service on another web site as well.

Hope that you day is going well?
Cheers...........

We had a very relaxing Sunday here in Tucson. After we returned from breakfast with Elise's Mum and Ann and her family, we just kicked back and let the day flow. We watched two DVD's that we very good. One was called Hurricane Season with Forest Whitaker and about a high school basketball problems and trails during and after Katrina. Rosemary cared for Chris last night and after she left for the night I checked on Chris and we called it a day. Music listening to: It's Gonna Take a Miracle by Denise Williams

How are you doing? I started the day off at 5:15am looking in on Chris and getting him settled for his day to begin. Elise is caring for Chris this morning. Odette is up and about this morning due to she will be leaving us and she will be heading to Flagstaff, Arizona for a few days.

We had a very nice dinner with her last night at Buddy's Grill. Odette had the fajitas and Elise had the halibut. I had the pork chops and we all had the fixing's that go along with the meal. We shared a bottle of red that was very good. After dinner we went back home and we were getting ready to head out to the Invisible Theater to see a one woman show written and performed by Lynn Redgrave. I must tell you it was excellent and she deserved the standing ovation that she received. A remarkable woman indeed. After the play we went to the Outback and we had a few Walla B Darns and they were very good and we both got brain freeze.

While we were at the theater Odette was at home with Elise's sister Ann and her family. They came up from Bisbee to see her before she left Tucson. After everyone left for the evening we hit the sheets because Odette had to get up early to head for Flagstaff. We really enjoyed her visit, she is a lot of fun and she is very smart. We are getting ready to head out to breakfast like we always do and Ann and her family will be joining us this morning.

We got a scare last night because the caregiver called to say that she was not coming bu we got it worked out by having Kecia take her place instead. I had begun to sweat bullets and was worried that we would miss Lynn Redgrave. Today we will stay home and rest, but I have an errand to run. I will do it after breakfast while Elise is caring for Chris.

Have a good day and enjoy. The photo is of Odette at Applebee's that I took with my cell phone.

Later...........

Good Morning Jeanne, the Cardinals let us down but the Cats won. Go Cat's!

Tiger and Marcie, how are you two?

Olivia, good to hear from you as always. I bet you are glad that the weather got better,eh?

Steph, be careful while you are away.

Music listening to: Tell Me Where The Road Turns by Diana Ross

How are you on this Saturday morning? I started the day off at 5:35am looking in on Chris and getting him settled. Elise is still yodeling this morning but she will be up and yodeling at Chris shortly because she will be caring for him this morning. I must say that Odette is yodeling too!

The coffee is good this morning and very hot, the way we like it. Elise and Odette are off swimming this morning and they will be back soon. Any plans for today? We had a very nice time at Colors last night and the Jack was spot on for Elise and I. Odette had a martini.

After we left Colors we went to the Live Theatre and we watched the play called Clean House and it was very good and very funny. I was impressed with the staff of the Live Theatre because we are season ticket holders and we needed a ticket for Odette to see the show. I thought the she would not be able to sit with us but I was wrong they made it possible for her to sit with us and we are very grateful to them for making that possible.

After we left the play we went to Applebee's for dinner and the food was great. Odette had Steak and shrimp and a baked potato. Elise had Steak and shrimp on a skewer and a baked potato. I had Popcorn shrimp and fries. We shared an order of sweet and spicy wings that were delicious. So good that I placed an order to go. We shared a bottle of red that was really good too!

After that we went to see if we could get into Oregano's to get some Bellini's but we could not because they had closed for the night. So we returned home and Elise poured each of us a shot of Dewyers and then we called it a night. Chris was sound sleep. It was a very nice evening. This evening Elise and I are going to the Arizona Theatre Company to see Lynn Redgrave in a one woman show that is sold out. We were hoping to get a ticket for Odette but no luck. So Elise's sister Ann is coming up from Bisbee to see Odette and to take her out for dinner along with Mum.

Well, I had better get busy and have a look in on Chris and get ready to get him up into his chair. Our Wildcats play basketball this afternoon so Go Cat's. Have a good day.

Later.............

Good Morning TGIF

Good Morning

Mood: Relaxed, Frisky!

Music listening to: Hermosa by David Benior

How are you on this Friday morning? I started the day off at 5:40am caring for Chris. Elise, well she is still in that never, never land, but she will be up and in the real world soon. Odette is up and moving about waiting on Elise to bust a move, smile. The coffee is good this morning and even Odette had a cup, I am on my second cup.

We had a very nice time with Elise's Mum, Lee, and Lois at Casa Molina's for dinner. Mum had her usual tacos with beans and rice, Elise had a tostada with beans and rice and so did Odette. Lee, had a tostada and Lois had a hamburger and fries. Elise,Odette and I had a margarita that was OK but we have had better. We all shared sopopillas for dessert and they were very good. Elise's Mum had her usual Miller's Lite in a frosted mug. A good evening with good food.

We returned home and Odette, Elise and I watched a DVD that was very good and it kept us glued to the TV. It was one of those thrillers that kept you guessing who the bad guy was and were we ever surprised at the end. While we watched the movie we enjoyed one of Elise's margaritas and let me tell you it was delicious.

After Rosemary left and I checked on Chris we all called it a night. Odette is going to prepare lunch for Elise's Mum and I today while Elise is hosting a marathon bridge game in the main house. Odette will prepare and serve the lunch in Chris's house so not disturb the bridge players. Odette is a very good cook.

After Marv arrives to care for Chris Elise, Odette and I are going to go to Colors for a Jack or two and then we will go to the Live Theatre to see a play. The play is called a Clean House, it is a comedy. After the play we are going to Applebee's for dinner and a bottle of red. I should be a great evening out here in the Old Pueblo. Well, I had better get busy with Chris. Have a good day and a better tomorrow.

Cheers...............

Howdy

Howdy,

Well, Elise and Odette are back from the gym, and now Elise is doing her Wii workout while Odette watches. I am on my third cup of coffee and I have Chris all relaxed and waiting for his massage. Pam will be here shortly to give Elise and Chris a good rubbing, smile.

I have to run to the airbase to get gas and to pay a bill or two and then I will return home. I was honored by Elise's cousin Jon in one the Miami Herald newspaper on the 8th of January 2010. Jon's brother Mike passed away at the age of 57 years young and Jon included me in the obit as one of the survivors of his brother Mike. It is a good feeling to be thought of and I am sure that Mike will be missed by all who knew him. It is very humbling to me.

Well, I had better get ready to run my errands.

Later..............

Jeanne ,did you catch up on your sleep?

How are you doing? I started the day off at 5:15am caring for Chris. Elise is still pitching pennies this morning but she will be up soon looking for those Benjamin's, smile. The coffee is good this morning and I have to grind up some more beans for tomorrow.

We had a very nice time last night at Pinnacle Peaks with Odette. The food was excellent. Elise and Odette got the Cowboy steaks with baked potato and beans and a salad. I got the Big Cowboy with a salad and beans, I was very, very hungry and I ate the whole thing. We shared a bottle of Wiley Zinfandel and it was very good.

We returned home and Elise and Odette called it a night. I watched TV until Rosemary left for the night and I followed suit and called it a night. Elise and Odette are headed for the gym this morning and later in the evening we are going out for Mexican food with Odette, Elise's Mum, Lois and Lee. It will be Margaritaville here in the Old Pueblo. Chris and Elise will be receiving their massage later this morning.

Well, I had better get busy with Chris. Rosemary will be here this afternoon to care for Chris. We may go to the movies this afternoon and we will take Odette along with us. I will also complete another one of my Marketing lessons today as well. Have a good day and stay safe.

Later.............

Howdy,

Well, the day has gotten a bit better. Kecia just left and Rosemary took over caring for Chris. I haven't heard from Elise as of yet so I guess they are on the road headed for Tucson. I do know that I am starving and I had better grab something to eat soon.

I just enrolled in a refresher course of Marketing 321 thru Texas A&M University. I will complete it online. I may enroll in another after I complete this one. How are you guys doing?

Later..................

Steph, glad that you are back with us on PenPals.

How are you doing on this Hump Day? I started the day off at 5:15am caring for Chris. The coffee is on and I am on my third cup already. I just got a call from the caregiver saying that she missed her bus but that she is on her way and that she will be here after 9:00am. I didn't get my wish, so this is going to be another one of those days it seems. It is early so it may change.

I have to run to my office this morning to turn in some paperwork. I talked with Elise last night and things are going well in Phoenix. She should be back home sometime this morning or early afternoon. We are going to take Odette out to dinner at Pinnacle Peak this evening. We love it there and the steaks are huge and the cowboy beans are the best in Tucson.

Well, I had better get myself braced for what today may bring. Have a good one and stay safe.

Later.............

Good Morning Jeanne, sorry to hear that you could not get to sleep last night. I will give you a call this afternoon.

Tiger and Marcie, wake up sisters.

Ross, how is the weather now down under?

Steph, did you get through to Penpals yet? Is is a puzzlement!

Good Evening

Good Evening

Well, it has been one of those days and it didn't happen on a Monday. First off the caregiver Kecia did not show up so I had to care for Chris today. Her Mom called to say that she was stranded and that she could not make it today but she will be here to care for Chris tomorrow. Her car has been causing her problems and she is having it fixed.

Next, we are having trouble with health care insurance company's for some of Chris's needs that have been taken care of for many years and now they seem to be problems for them all of a sudden.

Next, I went to pick up 2 dozen tamales that Elise ordered and they were supposed to be ready today and they were not. Now they say that they will be ready tomorrow at 11:00am due to a misunderstanding with the manager of the store. Can you say these tamales will be pro-bono due to our mix up? More than likely NOT!

What is going to happen next before the day is over? I swear this is a Monday. Elise just called to let me know that she has made it to Phoenix with her Mum and they are checked into their hotel. Sara, Elise's niece will be joining them for breakfast tomorrow morning and she will receive her breakfast for free since she is a fireman up in Tempe. Finally, the day is taking a turn for the better, at least I hope so. It is still early but I am an optimist by heart, smile.

Chris is talking up a storm right now while he is watching Everybody Loves Raymond. Can you believe it here I am a bachelor for a few hours and need I say more? Well, I had better get busy and take care of Chris. Have a good night and have a great day tomorrow. Pray that my day gets better tomorrow, please.

Cheers........................

Good Night Jeanne, I am glad that you liked the painting that we bought it is very nice.

Tiger and Marcie, sleep well and stay warm.

JT, I got your emails about the escrow. My fax is on and the email acct is clear.

Sis, so good to hear from you today. Glad that you are OK. The cruise for April sounds wonderful. Big Bro was just worried is all. You know how I am?

Steph, I hope that the email thing gets resolved. Did you get the email I forwarded from Liz?

What is up? I started the day off at 5:40am caring for Chris. Elise is up and out swimming with the fishes this morning. The coffee is good this morning and I am thinking pancakes. Any plans for today?

Chris will be cared for this morning by Kecia as soon as she gets here. She is having car trouble and she will be catching the bus until her car is repaired. She was supposed to start at 7:00am and it is almost 8:00am.

Well, I will be alone today due to Elise is headed to Phoenix with her Mum to met Odette who is coming in from France to stay with us for a few days. They will stay overnight in Phoenix and arrive here at home tomorrow sometime. We have a lot of things planned for Odette's visit and it should be a lot of fun.

Well, I had better get myself together and get a move on. Have a good day.

Later..............

Good Morning Jeanne.

Good Night

Good Night

The day has come to an end and it has been a nice slow and easy day for a Monday. Chris and I rested, relaxed and watched TV. When Elise returned home and she did her Wii workout.

We had soup for dinner and tomatoes and carrots. It was very good and we watched Mash on DVD with Chris. I am caring for Chris this evening and Elise is playing bridge at her Mum's.

Well, I had better get back to work. Have a good evening and a better tomorrow. The photo above is of the painting that we purchased from The Starving Artist, it looks really good over the fireplace.

Cheers............

Good Night Jeanne

Tiger and Marcie, sleep well.

How are you doing? Well, it is a Monday so be very careful out there. I started the day off at 5:40am caring for Chris. Elise is engine is running at an idle but she will be running full steam ahead soon. The coffee is nice and hot this morning and I am thinking toast and jelly.

We had a very nice evening out with Nanci and Jeff at the Red Lobster. It is always a pleasure to see them and to hear about what has taken place at their property in New Mexico. The food was very good at Red Lobster and we shared a bottle of red. We also gave them a Christmas gift that we had made for them last night. It was a personalized sign for the property and it turned out very well and we believe that they liked it very much.

Well, as promised in the previous posting here is a bit of info on our very short staycation at the Hilton East.

We checked in at about 3:oopm and we unpacked and I hit the ice machine for ice for you guessed it Jack and Cokes. We decided to take a short walk before we hit the Jack and we ventured around the area that surrounded the Hilton. We returned and it was Jack's all around. We played games on the laptop for a few hours before we left for dinner.

We had dinner at a place called Thirsty's. It is a place that Elise's plays bridge at quite often. Thirsty's was packed with people and that is a good sign in this economy. The food was very good and it was a bit noisy due to the Dallas Cowboys were on the TV's. We had a couple of Jack's while we eat our dinner. We returned to the Hilton and we continued to play games on the laptop until around 11:00pm and we called it a night. I believe the Jack's had caught up with us.

I got up at around 7:30am and I put on the coffee and Elise was still guiding ships in to a foggy port. The aroma of the coffee got her to stirring and she needed a cup. Elise said that she had way too many Jack's and she was feeling it. We got dressed and we went to pick up Elise's Mum for breakfast. We returned to the Hilton for breakfast and it was pretty good. Elise's Mum had Belgium waffles and we had the buffet that came included with the stay there.

We took Elise's Mum home and we went to El Con Mall to get tickets to see the movie Precious. We stopped by our house to drop of a few things that were in the car. We returned to the Hilton and we bought a picture from the Starving Artists and we had it framed on the spot. We both like the picture very much and I will a photo of it and post it later. We checked out and we went home to finish unpacking before we left for the movies. Kecia did a good job with Chris and now Rosemary is caring for Chris. It was a good staycation but really short but a lot of fun.

We also stopped at Live Theatre to get a extra ticked for Elise's French sister Odette. She will be arriving from France tomorrow and Elise and her Mum will meet up with her in Phoenix. They will stay overnight in Phoenix prior to returning to Tucson. We have a few things planned to do during her 5 day stay with us. It will be good to see her again it has been a while since she had been here with us.

Well, I had better get some more coffee and get busy. Have a good day and stay safe. The photos above are of our room at the Hilton East.

Cheers..................

Good Morning Jeanne.

Tiger and Marcie, have a good one.

Good Night

Good Night,

We are back at home from our very short but fun staycation. We had a very nice time and it was very relaxing. I will give more details in my next posting and I did take a few photos.

We went to see the movie Precious and let me tell you it is a sad but powerful movie that was well done. After the movie we met with Nanci and Jeff at Red Lobster and that was fun and the food was great. We returned home and I checked on Chris and Rosemary and all is going well.

Elise has hit the sheets and is reading book while I am posting to our blog. After Rosemary leaves for the night I will check on Chris and then I will call it a night as well. We hope that your day was a good one? Beware tomorrow is Monday, beware.
Night...........

Good Night Jeanne, good to talk with you today.

Tiger and Marcie, did you behave while we were away?

Steph, did you get the problem solved with posting to our group?

Claudia, have a good upcoming week.
