How are you doing on this Sunday morning? I started the day off at 5:30am looking in on Chris. Elise is counting Javelina this morning but she will be up at at soon. Elise will be giving a talk this morning at a friend of hers church. The talk will be about her life since Chris was hurt 15 years ago,and the many sacrifices that she had to make over the years. Elise is a very good orator and a excellent poet as well. She has written a book of poems and it is a must read.

We are having Elise's Mom over for dinner and later we may go to the movies. I have my cup of coffee near by so now I can give you a little insight on our just completed stay-cation. Here goes!

Our stay-cation was at the Towne Place Suites Marriott here in Tucson near the airport. We started the day off at Gus Balones first to have breakfast. Elise has the ham steak, eggs over easy, hash browns, toast and coffee. I had the pork chops, scrambled eggs with cheese, hash browns, toast and coffee. After breakfast we ran a few errands before we arrived at Towne Place. We got checked in and we ran into a snag due to the did not have the paperwork on file that my brother Herman sent for special family member rate. We paid the full rate until we contacted Herman and he contacted them to clear up the problem. The paperwork was there all of the time but in the wrong location in there files.

Our room is very nice and it has everything from a stove to a microwave and all of the utensils of home. We got settled into the room and we had a couple of Jack and Cokes. We went to the casino that is near by and we played slots for a while. We were there for about 4 hours and we spent $160.00 and we won $161.00 so we came out even and it was fun. We left the casino and we went to the JW Marriott Resort for dinner at the Steakhouse. We shared a Lodi wine called Klinkerbrick and it was excellent. We shared a spinach salad with feta cheese and sliced pears. Elise got the filet with a baked potato and I got the the rib eye with shrimp, mashed potatoes, snow peas and carrots. We were stuffed. We left to return to the hotel and we stopped at a AM PM store for some lottery tickets and some Payday candy bars. We gave a homeless Vietnam Vet a few dollars on our way out of the store. We scratched our tickets and we won $12.00 dollars out of the $20.00 that we spent,not bad.

It is now about 10:00pm and we are playing video games on the laptop and we are having a nightcap of Jack and Coke. As a matter of fact we could hardly play the games after the second Jack and Coke but it was lot of fun. So we quit and hit the sheets for the night.

We got up the next morning a around 9:35am (Wow). We slept way too long and that is not like us at all. Elise got up to make coffee while I was taking a shower, that did the trick alright. We left for breakfast at a place called Jerry Bob's. Elise had oatmeal with raisins and I had pigs in a blanket. We returned to the room to rest up before we got into the pool. We were in the pool for about an hour or so. Elise swam laps and I tried out my snorkeling set, and let me tell you it takes some getting used to but I enjoyed it and hope to use it again next stay-cation. We returned to the room and we played more video games on the laptop and of course we had a few more Jack and Cokes.

Later we returned to the JW Marriott Resort for dinner at the Signature Grill. We shared a salad and Elise got the salmon and risotto. I got the scallops wrapped in bacon, sweet potatoes mashed and I got the Albondiga soup. We shared a bottle of a Clos du Bois Merlot that was great. A very good meal. We left the resort and we returned to the casino to play slots again. This time we did not do so well and we lost $40.00 and we left. I enjoy going to the casino to watch the people, listen to the sounds and to feel like part of the action. I always set a limit of how much I will spend not matter if I win or loss, it is fun. We returned to our room and called it a night.

I got up at 8:00am and Elise was still covered up. I made a pot of coffee and Elise got up at 8:45am. She headed for the exercise room and she worked out for about 40 minutes. She got showered up and we watched Harry Potter on TV. We checked out of the hotel and we left for home. We got home and unpacked and then we went to the movies to see the latest Harry Potter movie that was good but all of the previous ones were much better. After the movie we went to Oregano's for pizza and a bottle of red. We love the pizza there and the people watching is great. We topped off our dinner with a couple of Bellini's and they were great. We returned home and I checked on Chris and that was all that she wrote. I was a very relaxing stay-cation.
