Monday !!

Good Morning

Mood: Tired

Music listening to: Very Superstitious by Stevie Wonder (classic R&B)

How are you? I started the day off at 5:15am caring for Chris. Elise is still climbing Mt. Lemmon this morning and she has company on her trek. Ann her sister is with her but they will be back down in the valley of Tucson soon to start the day. The coffee is good this morning and I believe that gallons will be consumed today.

Any plans for today? I have to run a few errands this morning and that is about it for me. We would like to thank Marty and Paula for bringing us dinner last night after we returned from the hospital. We would also like to thank everyone for your phone calls, visits, and emails in support of a Mum during this trying time.

Here is the latest on Mum from yesterday. After Mum arrived at Tucson Medical Center the doctor told us that she had a heart attack in the lower portion of the heart and that it was the best place to have one if you did. ( A oxymoron if you will). She would require some surgery to put in a stint or two. This was attempted but could not be done due to the damage and the acute blockage. Along with that being 95 years old the risk of a possible bypass was ruled out. So they really could not do anything to help. She came out of surgery and she was resting and recovering, but she still was complaining of very bad chest pain. She was monitored and she is on Morphine for the pain.

Mum was awake and talking from time to time and her color began to slowly return. Rosemary arrived to care for Chris and I joined the rest of the family at TMC for more info on Mum. I got there and Mum was asleep so I went out into the waiting room. Elise and I left to go back to Mum's apartment to get a few things for her. We returned and Mum was awake and her color was very good and she was awake and talking. She had a few questions and her mental process was as high and sharp as ever and that is very good. The family will have to make some decisions as to what is going to be or needs to be done when this happens again and more than likely it will. It is a very hard time for us all.

Elise and I returned home while Ann stayed with Mum. We had dinner at home with Paula and Marty that was very good. Later Ann arrived at our home at around 9:00pm. Ann is staying with us for a few days. She told us the Mum is much better and that she is asking for something to eat and that is a good sign. We will keep you posted as to what goes on today. Again thank you all for your concern and support for Mum.
