Good Morning

Music listening to: For You I Will

How are you? I started the day off at 5:30am caring for Chris. Elise is still rolling down the Rialto river but she will will be up and at at as soon as she hits a cactus, smile. Any plans for today? The coffee it good this morning and I am on my second cup. It is a bit windy out this morning but it feels good.

Well, here is a bit more about our great trip to Kentucky.

23-Oct 10

We woke up at 8:30am and we ate breakfast with Nancy, Presha and Ron. Nancy is a good cook. She prepared scrambled eggs, bagels, cinnamon rolls, bacon and hot coffee. Delicious!! After eating we all piled into the SUV and we drove to the Makers Mark distillery. The tour was very good and learned quite a bit about the making of bourbon. We even got to taste the the mash right of the huge containers that were fermenting. We went from sour to sweet, what a experience that was. Of course we had to have a few tastings of the Makers Mark. It was delicious. We purchased bottle of Makers Mark and Elise got to wax the top of the bottle.

After Makers we had lunch at a place called "Kurtz". Elise got the homemade butter bean soup and a spinach salad. I got the hot roast beef on bread with gravy, mashed potatoes and Cole slaw. For dessert we shared a piece of lemon meringue pie. After lunch we went to Stephen Foster Park and toured a old home and it was very interesting. Elise bought a CD of Stephen Fosters music. On the way back home we stopped at the "Jim Beam" distillery but it was closed for the day. We detoured on the way home and we drove through a park where the trees were all turning and it was gorgeous with orange, reds, yellows, gold, and green leaves.

We stopped at a Costco to gas up the SUV and to gas on on vino as well, smile. We stopped inside Costco to purchase a few bottles of red, a essential part of vacationing, eh? Sure your right, smile. We sat around with Nancy,Ron and Presha and we snacked and chatted until it was time to call it a night. A fun day was had by all!
