Monday Lookout!

Good Morning,

Mood: Energetic

Music listening to: Last Dance by Donna Summer

It's a Monday, yes it is! I started the day off at 5:00am caring for Chris. Elise is rolling down a wash this morning, but she will start her day as soon as she runs into a cactus, smile! Any plans for today?

I am a bit behind today and I have a couple of errands to take care of. I am feeling a bit cautious today but I am like that on Mondays. We had a fantastic evening with Paula, Marty, Sally, Jane, and John. We meet up at Zemams for some Ethiopian food, and it was delicious.

It was the first time for Jane, John and Sally. I am sure that they were a little surprised that no utensils were used to eat with. We had some pre-ordered Injera made from teff, and we had some of the regular Injera so Sally, John and Jane could try it to see which one they liked better. I believe that the Injera made from teff was the winner. We demolished three bottles of red and that is always a plus in my book. Good food, good drink, good conversation, and good friends. In my book their is nothing better than that.

After we finished our dinner we all went downtown to the "Hub" for some ice cream. Jane and John had heard about the "Hub" and they even have a Groupon for a visit there. The ice cream was wonderful and the weather was perfect for a short stroll around downtown. We said our good-byes to Paula, Marty and Sally. Elise, John, Jane and I loaded up into our Kia Spectra and we headed back to Zemams so they could pick up their car. We said our good-byes and we headed home totally stuffed. A wonderful evening and we hope that we will get together for a repeat. Thank you guys!

We returned home and Elise hit the sheets to read, and I watched a little TV until Rosemary left for the night. After checking on Chris I called it a night as well. Well, I had better go and see what Chris is up to. Have a safe Monday!

Later...........

Tiger, Marcie, Jet have a good one.

Jane and John, thank you for joining us for an evening of fun.

Paula and Marty, thank you very much.

JT, no word as of yet from you. Today is the deadline.

Sis, how are things in the (A)?

Jerome and Kesha, enjoy the cruise.

Shoo and Stu,have a good one.

Monna, how are things?

Flo and John, stay safe.

Rosie, have a great day.

Ross, anything new around your way?

Liz, what is new?

Erika, how are things in Germany?

Here is a bit more about our Alaskan cruise:

6 Sept 11

We got up at around 8:00am and then we walked the promenade deck for 6 laps that equals to 2 miles. The weather is brisk and a little windy. The temp is 55 degrees and the humidity is 82%.

We then went to the Garden Cafe for breakfast. Elise had oatmeal with raisins, and pecans. I had bacon, ham, eggs, tatoes and toast. We had plenty of coffee and we decided that we needed to drink more water.

Later we went to the casino and we played for while and we came out even and that was a good thing. We arrived in Juneau at around 2:00pm and we meet up with Bucky and Dena so we could explore Juneau. We walked from the ship and it was about a mile or so to get into town. We could have caught the shuttle but we needed to walk and it was raining as well. Very refreshing! We shopped and looked around and we ended up taking a tram ride up a steep mountain for $27 each. What a view, you could see everything,it was fantastic.

After coming down off of the mountain we separated and we looked around more and stopped in many stores. We received a call from Bucky to let us know that they were in the "Red Dog Saloon" so we joined them. It was a very entertaining place with sawdust floors and good drinks and a piano player who very good and suggestive at times. He reminded Elise of Burl Ives. What fun!

Then we found a small restaurant called "Tracey's King Crab Shack" and we had were hungry. We had crab cakes that were great, crab salad, yummy! We had outside under a covered patio and it still was raining but we were safe and snug as could be. We downed some vino as well, don't you know? Smile! A wonderful afternoon in Juneau.

We hiked back to the ship and we played "Wizard' until around 9:00pm. We ate dinner while we played. Then Elise and I went to the "Stardust Theatre" to see a musical show that was pretty good. The dancing was excellent, but the singing was not as good as the previous show we saw there. Another good day cruising. We called it a night and retired to our cabin.
