Hello All,
Well, here is what went on at the High School Reunion in Douglas, Arizona.
Elise and I left Tucson for Douglas at about 2:30pm on the 10th of October. We listened to a book on tape on the way that is pretty good. We arrived at the Gadsden Hotel at around 5:15pm and we checked into our room. We drove the Prius and we got great mileage almost 50 miles per gallon. I went to get some ice so we could relax with a Jack and Coke before we got dressed to head out to the country club.
Well, after 3 Jack's we left for the Douglas Country Club. It was a pretty good crowd there already. We got our name tags and we hit the bar. Elise's best friend Nancy in high is staying at the Gadsden as well so she rode along with us. We got a table and we enjoyed the crowds and watched as people checked in. Nancy bought the first round of drinks, so I got a Margarita, Elise and Nancy got Jack and diet coke's.
I met a lot of people who knew Elise during her high school years and she was a popular little thing let me tell you. We had a very nice dinner of Prime Rib, baked potatoes, salad, rolls and tea and water. I very nice meal indeed. I hit the bar again for another round of drinks this time we all had Jack and Coke. Susie and Vicki arrived and they were greeted by former classmates. The announcements and gifts were awarded and Susie got the award for the farthest traveled. Susie came all the way from Saudi Arabia, not that is a long ride to Douglas, AZ.
Elise hit the dance floor with a guy named Gary who come to find out had a huge crush on Elise and he wanted to marry her many years back. I had to keep my eye on him, smile. He didn't even ask if he could dance with Elise, so I had my pistol at the ready. I am kidding of course! Overall it was a good evening, and after about 9 Jack's it was time to head back to the Gadsden and call it a night. We arrived back at the Gadsden at about 10:10pm and we were both exhausted and it was time to hit the pillows.
Sunday 11, 09
We got up at around 9:00am and Elise is feeling the effects of those 9 Jack and Cokes. We got dressed and we went down for breakfast and plenty of coffee and water. Afterwards we walked for about 45 minutes around the city of Douglas. I took a few photos of the area and I took a photo of Elise's childhood home. We went by Paula and Marty's old home right next to Teresa's home. I also took a few shots of the lobby in the Gadsden. It is a very old hotel without all of the fancy and frills of today's modern hotels. It is clean and very nostalgic, it even has a elevator operator.
We checked out at around 11:30am and headed back to Tucson. It was a nice time had by all.
The photos are of the Reunion and a few from the Gadsden and our walk through Douglas, AZ.
Cheers.........................

What a great looking group of people! Lol! So glad you had a good time - I had the BEST time! Gary is harmless - he was like that with ALL the girls (and we ALL loved him!), so keep your pistol back in your holster!!!
