How are you doing so far? Well, I just got back from running all of my errands. Whew! I also set up a date and time to re certify my nursing certificates as well.
It is warming up just a bit and that is a good thing. It is 43 degrees now. Well, here is a bit more about our stay-cation with Elaine in Gold Canyon, Arizona. Enjoy!

We both slept very well last night after turning in at around 10:00pm. It is now 8:30am and Elaine is preparing us breakfast. You should see her she a busy bee this morning, but that is Elaine.
Elise had a avocado and cheese omelet that was super. I had a pepperoni omelet and a banana split ice cream smoothie that was delicious. Elaine is spoiling us big time. It is about 9:30am and our breakfast is done and Elaine and Elise are cleaning up in the kitchen.
Elaine is taking us on a road trip that sounds really exciting. We left the house at about 10:30am and we drove to Cottonwood, Arizona. On the way there it started to rain and it snowed us as well. The mountains were covered with snow and it was very nice.
We took the turn off to (Cornville) and we proceeded to two wineries. Javelina Winery was the first. We tasted 4 wines and we really like them so we bought a Merlot for $45.00.
Next we went to the Oak Creek Winery. We sampled more wine and we bought one of theirs. All of the grapes are grown right there.
Then we went to Page Springs Winery. We are still in Cornville. We had lunch at Page Springs and we sampled more wines. The lunch consisted of pizza, crostini's, it was all so good. We bought a few more bottle of wine here. We even got to keep our tasting glasses.
After lunch we are on our way to Jerome, Arizona. There was a lot of snow on the cars, houses, and cacti because Jerome is at 5000 ft. It was foggy and cool because Jerome is a ghost towns.
We visited lots of gift shops and two wineries: Bitter Creek and Cadacious. We bought more wine at each one. Wow!
One of the places we went into was a shop where they sell nothing but kaleidoscopes. It was very cool! There were some kaleidoscopes that sold for $4000, and $5000 dollars. Wow, and no we did not pick up a couple of those, smile!
After more shopping and browsing around it was time for some dinner. We went to the Grand Hotel up on a hill overlooking Jerome and the valley. Originally the Grand was hospital. Jerome's mining kind of bit the dust and the town became a ghost, and tourist town. It became the Grand Hotel with a restaurant called "The Asylum". Yep!
Elaine told me that dinner was on me and it was. So it be said, let be written, smile. Our dinner was expensive but well worth the cost.
Elaine and Elise shared a lamb dinner complete with mashed potatoes, veggies, and mint jelly. Elise also had a salad and Elaine had a squash soup. I had a salad and chicken with Alfredo sauce over spinach pasta. It was excellent. We all had Mojitos to get it all down. The Mojitos did the trick let me tell you. Elise and I had two of them. Excellent evening in Jerome.
We left the Grand and we are heading back to Gold Canyon. We got back at around 10:30pm, then we decided that it was game over. Thank you Elaine.
Here are a few pics of our adventure at the wineries and Jerome. Enjoy!
