Hump Day!!

Good Morning

Mood: Happy

Music listening to: Reasons Why by Earth,Wind and Fire

Hump Day is here! How goes it? I started the day of at around 1:30am being awakened from a dream that I had. It took place in my hometown of Detroit at a place called The Inn on Ferry Street.

Elise and I stayed there for a week a few years back and it was fantastic. In the dream we were staying in the castle, as a matter of fact we rented the whole castle. We arranged for the singing group The Temptations to sing. We made sure that they would sing the song " Treat Her Like a Lady".

The castle was packed with people and everyone was having a good time. There was plenty of food and good music, then I woke up. I wonder who the party was for? I have posted a photo of the castle at the Inn on Ferry Street, and a couple of pics of Elise and I.

I went back to sleep and I woke up at 5:25am to start my day. Elise is still counting zzz's but she will be up an about very soon. The coffee is good and I am thinking about another danish that is in the kitchen. Any plans for today?

Rosemary will be here to care for Chris this evening and we may to the movies this afternoon. Elise wants to go to the "Outback " this evening for dinner. Other than that, that is about it for today. Well, I had better refill my coffee cup and grab that danish and get this Hump Day rolling. Have a good one.

Later............

Tiger, Marcie, Jet have a good one.

JT, the deposit will be made this morning.

Steph, how are you?

Susie, how are you feeling today? Better we hope so.

Jane and John, what are you up to today?

Shoo Shoo, did you go to the Sheraton last night?

Good Night!

Good Night

Another day has ended. How was yours? I had a pretty good day today. I enjoyed my visit to the DDC today. I even won a few bucks and that is always good.

Elise and I replaced a screen in one of Chris's doors and it turned out to be a fun project. Now we are going to do two of the doors in the main house as well. Elise prepared homemade waffles for breakfast with sausages and hot coffee. Delicious!

Well, I had better get back to Chris. Have a good night and stay safe.

Cheers.........

Tiger, Marcie, Jet have a peaceful night.

JT, I will make a deposit for you tomorrow morning.

Wake Up! How are you? I started the day off at 4:40am due to the dogs were barking and running around like crazy so I got up to have a lot. Of course I didn't see a thing. Elise was floating on a cloud and she still is but as soon as the wind hits her she will start her day. Any plans for today?

Angelica will be here this morning to care for Chris. I have a couple of errands to run and one of them is to hit the casino to pick up my perks. The coffee is good and I am looking at a danish to go along with it, yes I am. Smile.

Well, I had better get to steppin. Here are the last to the photo's from Mum's celebration. These are all of the sharing talks that we done.

Good Night

Another day has come and gone. How was yours? Chris and I relaxed for the most part today. It has been very windy today and it is supposed to continue through tomorrow.

Elise prepared a very good dinner of soup this evening and we watched Mash on DVD. Elise has left for singing practice and I am caring for Chris this evening. Elise joined the Tucson Women's Chorus and they practice every Monday evening.

I want to thank everyone for the very nice comments about the last post we made and we are glad that you enjoyed the photos. Well, I had better get back to work. Here are a few more photos from Mum's celebration. Have a a great evening.

Music Listening to: What's Love Got To Do With It by Tina Turner

It's a Monday so be on your toes. I started the day off at 5:10am caring for Chris. Elise is purring along but at times she switches to diesel and it gets a little loud, but she will be on the road soon. Any plans for today?

I have a couple of quick errands to take care of this morning, but other than that no plans at all. The coffee is very good this morning and that is always a plus. As I was filling my cup I stopped and I thought of Mum. I didn't fill my cup up completely and if you didn't do that while we were out to eat Mum would get on you to make sure that her cup was filled to the top. So I filled my cup up this morning.

Well, I had better get busy and get this day started. I have posted more photos of Mum's celebration. Have a great Monday!

Later...........

Good Night

Good Night

Well, another day had ended and it has been a pretty good one. Elise and I had a nice breakfast this morning at Broadway Cafe, but we both felt an emptiness because Mum is usually with us, and she was in spirit. It is going to take a long time before we get over Mum not sitting next to us and complaining that the coffee is too cold.

We spent a quite day at home watching movies with Chris until Rosemary arrived to care for him this evening. Elise fixed BLT's and we continued to watch movies and for dessert we had banana splits and they were great. I haven't had one of those since I was a kid, wow!

Well, as for Mum's celebration it was a success and we know that Mum was pleased. We had around 60 to 65 people attend and the house was full. Some arrived early to help arrange things and to help out. Paula and Marty brought two cakes that were to hurt yourself for. One was a decadent chocolate and the other was a carrot cake that was gluten-free and let me tell you it was the best. Thank you Paula and Marty. Vickie brought two cheesecake, one with blueberry topping and the other with cherry topping. Thank you Vickie.

Everyone mingled and talked about Mum and her life and that is exactly what she wanted to happen. Susie was here all the way from Saudi Arabia and her brother Roy was here from Washington state. It was good to see them. All of the family was here to include Elise's sister Ann and crew. We want to thank Janice for taking charge and gathering people up to come into the family room so we could begin the sharing talks. Janice rung the bell and she gave the first sharing and I followed her and I rung to bell for the next person to come up and share. Many, many good things were said about Mum and a few things were said that would make a sailor blush about Mum. Mum loved her life and she enjoyed every moment of it.

We had plenty of beer, wine, soda, water, liquor and I was in charge of the Margarita machine and it was a hit. I had to make two batches of Margarita's. It was supposed to end at 4:00pm but it carried on until around 6:00pm and that was just fine. Elise and I want to thank Angelica and Jose for going way beyond by making Chimi's, salsa, cheese nachos, jalapenos, it was a hit and we appreciate the hard work that they put into it. Also to Marv for bringing by trays of snacks that were wonderful. So many people and so many friends helped to make Mum's celebration a success. Thank you everyone!

Above are a few photo of the people who attended. I will post more pics daily until all of the ones that Elise picked are posted. Have a great evening and beware tomorrow is Monday.

Cheers............
I forgot to mention we also had a case of champagne to toast to Mum during the sharing. Thank you Rosemary and Marty for helping me get the bottles open and poured and delivered to our guests.

Sunday!!

Good Morning

Mood: Soul Searching

Music listening to: Tea

How are you? I started the day off at 5:00am looking in on Chris. Elise is sound asleep and her engine is as quiet as can be. She will be up shortly to care for Chris. The coffee is spot on this morning.

We are going to go out for breakfast this morning to the Broadway Cafe, we have not been there in a while. It will be different this morning because Mum is not there with us to enjoy the meal.

Well, our Wildcats are the Pac 10 champions, Go Cats! Elise and I watched a DVD yesterday called the "Children Of Brothels" it is about children in India. It is a very insightful documentary but it is very sad.

We enjoyed the visit by Sheila, she is a very remarkable woman. We went to Chad's for dinner and we all had steaks that were very good. Sheila loves her tonics and we had a bottle of red that was pretty good. Sheila is longtime friend of the family from Douglas, AZ. Sheila also has a blog and she posted an excellent write up about Mum and some of her memories of her.

Later in the day I will post about the Celebration and I will post a few picks that Elise selected. Well, I had better get busy. Have a great Sunday.

Later..............

Tiger, Marcie, Jet have a good one.

We are going out to dinner this evening with Sheila to a place called "Chads". We haven't been there in quite a while and we are looking forward to it. Sheila wrote a very nice post to her blog about Mum and the celebration gathering that we had on the 26th.

I go my errands taken care of yesterday and later in the evening we watched our Wildcats play Oregon State. Yes, we beat them, Go Cat's! The next game will be this Saturday at noon, we will play Oregon.

Good Morning

Mood: Chillin'

Music listening to: Thanks For The Memories

How are you? I started the day off at 5:00am caring for Chris. Elise is still counting sheep this morning and a few of those sheep are not making the leap over the fence. A few of them hit the fence with a thud or a thump and it this keeps up Elise will be awake very soon. Any plans for today?

I have to run a few errands this morning to include taking the Kia for a routine service. Angelica will be here this morning to care for Chris. Elise and I may go to the movies this afternoon after Rosemary arrives to care for Chris.

We had a very nice evening at "Bistro 44" the food was great. We were going to be joined by Susie but she is a bit under the weather right now. It started on Sunday during breakfast and we hope that she starts to feel better very soon. Elise had the salmon last night and I had a bacon wrapped filet that was very good. We shared a bottle of Chianti and we shared a Creme Brueli.

We returned home and we started to listen to a book on CD. I checked on Chris after Rosemary left for the evening and we called it game over. I just read our friend Sheila's blog this morning and she posted a excellent write up about Mum. Sheila was here for Mum's celebration and it was good to see her and Teresa. While reading her blog about Mum the tears began to flow again but they were tears of joy to have known such a beautiful person my (Mum).

Well, I had better get busy and check on Chris. Have a wonderful day.

Later...............

Tiger, Marcie, Jet enjoy the day.

Good Night

Good Night

Another day has closed. How was yours? I got all of my errands taken care of and Elise played some bridge today. Chris's caregiver Angelica said that she really enjoyed Mum's celebration and she and her husband prepared some great food and snacks.

It is different now with Elise here on Monday and Tuesday evening. She usually would be playing bridge at Mum's. I am caring for Chris this evening and Elise is resting.

We had a great dinner of pinto beans, cornbread, jalapenos, cubed cheese and root beer. Tomorrow Elise and I will be running errands and later in the evening we will be having dinner with Susie at "Bistro 44". Well, I had better get back to Chris. Have a wonderful evening.
