Buon Pomeriggio!
How are you doing so far on this sunny Domenica? We are good here.
We just got back from having a good breakfast at the "Egg Connection". Elise is caring for Chris, and I am restocking Chris's supplies for new week.
Chris is relaxing listening to some "Old School Music" on his radio. Elise we be getting Chris up soon and taking him over into the main house. Are you ready for some football? Ya Mon'.
Are you ready? Here is what went happened on the 9th of October in New York. Enjoy!
We got up at around 8:30am. We showered and we went to a little small place right next to the hotel for breakfast. The food was very good, and the coffee put "Starbucks" to shame.
After breakfast we walked for about a mile or two and then we returned to our hotel. We started to pack up and our suitcases were bulging! At 11:30am we checked out of our hotel, and we called for a (Lyft) to take us to the Manhattan Pier. Our first (Lyft) driver got lost so we had to call another one. We can understand how he got lost because the streets were blocked off for a Cuban music festival and the music sounded quite good. The second (Lyft) arrives at around 12:30pm and we are making our way to the pier.
Once we got to the pier, we were herded into the cruise check in area. The cruise line NCL had this down pat, and it didn't take long for us to board the "Breakaway". Once onboard we went to our cabin. Our bags were not available yet, so we explored the ship for the nearest bar. We rested and enjoyed a nice "Jack and Coke", smile! I have to tell they didn't skimp on the "Jack" at all.
After that strong drink we walked around the ship. We climbed up and down a million stairs. Our cabin is on deck nine. The "Breakaway" has 18 decks. We went to the "Garden Cafe" to grab a snack or two. I decided right then that I would be taking the elevator now and again because I knew that my knee would start to hurt, and it did after a while.
We returned to our cabin and our luggage had arrived. So, we unpacked. Hey, we are pros at figuring out where to put our stuff. After the packing was done, we went back to the bar named "O'Sheehan's". We enjoyed another "Jack and Coke". We downed a glass of water for every drink that we consumed throughout the cruise.
We walked around the ship some more. We went to Deck 6 and looked around one of the many pools on board. At 5:45pm the ship pulled out of the pier, and we headed out to sea. It passed "Lady Liberty" and the coastline. We use "WhatsApp" to video chat with Chris and Jayne. They got to see the coastline and some parts of the "Breakaway". They loved it!
Later we hit up "O'Sheehans" for dinner. Our first dinner onboard was a very good Prime Rib, mashed potatoes, corn on the cob and that dreaded broccoli. Smile! After dinner we hit up the casino and played for a bit and then we went to Deck 16 to get some ice cream to go with our "White Russians" that we ordered.
We returned to our cabin to enjoy our "Russians". Oh, I forgot that while in the city we saw people everywhere smoking (pot). You could get a good buzz going just by walking around the city. My playmate stopped at one of the dispensaries to purchase some (gummies). Just walk in have a look around and make your purchase. We love New York!
Oh, another thing. Right by the restaurant where we had dinner at was a sign on the front door was a sign that read: "We don't question your identity. If you are male or female use the bathroom that fits who you are" How cool is that?
We ended our first day of this cruise. Here are a ton of pictures. Enjoy! We know that you will.
