Afternoon!!

Good Afternoon!

   What's up? Well, Elise is just about to kick off her marathon bridge game and I am in Chris's house caring for him. Yes, I just opened a cervasa and it is ice cold and so good.

    Here is a bit more about our stay-cation in Bisbee, Douglas and the mountains. Enjoy!

14 Sept 12

Elise got up at 8:30am and I did not get up until 9:00am. I didn't sleep well due to a dream that I had about my Mother. It was a bit scary and worrisome.

We grabbed some breakfast at the Lodge and then we packed up and we checked out of our rooms. We headed for Douglas to doing some grocery shopping at the WalMart and at a Carnacia. 

We loaded up on supplies and snacks and then we began our drive to the mountains. We arrived at the  cabin and we opened it up and we unloaded he Tacoma. 

We got the fire pit going but it took a while because the wood was a little damp, but we did it. We sat around pit and we downed a few cocktails. We had Jack and Cokes and Bobby had Southern Comfort and Coke. It was very relaxing and peaceful.

There is some water running in the creek next to the cabin but not a whole lot. We saw were a bear had scratched and clawed at the wood post at the back of the cabin.Wow!

We prepared dinner before it got too dark outside. I grilled hot dogs, and brats. Elise cooked up some pork and beans and chili con carne. We also had cottage cheese, onions and chips. Of course we were well supplied with Jack and Coke and plenty of Southern Comfort for Bobby.

It was just nice to be sitting outside listening to the water run in the creek, and enjoying the fire pit. It started to get a little cool and Elise had to put on  along sleeve shirt and long pants. What's up with that, huh?

So we called it a night at around 8:30pm. It was a long day and we were a bit tired. Here are a few pics. Enjoy!

Good Morning!  

Mood: Cautious still

     TGIF! How are you doing? I started the day off at 5:00am caring for Chris. Elise is in her cave this morning and she is not moving or making a sound. So that means that she will not be putting feet on the ground until later. Smile! Any plans for today?

     The coffee is good and I am eyeing a sausage, egg biscuit this morning. I will be taking Chris to a routine doctors appointment this morning at 10:30am. Oh what fun that is, smile!

     Elise will be hosting  a marathon bridge game here at 1:00pm. The bidders and shufflers will catch a break today because I am not feeling up to selling their cars this morning. Besides that I don't have any hot dogs or snacks to set up on my table this time. I hope that they don't think I have chickened out because I have not. Smile! I wonder if the scooter lady is going to drive by today? Hmmmm!

      I will post more about our stay cation later today after I return from the doctors with Chris. We are going to the Live Theater Workshop this evening to see the play" Collected Stories" it should be a good one. After the play we are going to have a late dinner at "Applebees". 

    Normally we would stop in "Colors" for a cocktail or two but it has gone out of business. So sad because it was one of our favorite places to drop in. Now we have to find another venue to get our Jack and Coke on, smile.

    Well, I had better get busy and get this TGIF moving forward. Have a great day and a better tomorrow.

Mood: Hanging In There

      It's a Thirsty Thursday! How are you doing? It is about 2:00am and I am having a hard time getting to sleep so here I am. Elise is not in her cave but she is purring away. Any plans for today?

      Well, here is a bit more about our trip to Bisbee, Douglas and to the mountains. Enjoy!

13 Sept 12

I started the day off at 7:30am, Elise got up at 8:00am and Bobby started his day at around 7:00am. At 9:00am we went to breakfast here at the Lodge restaurant. Elise had machaca and eggs, Bobby had chorizo and eggs, and I had chicken fried steak. We all had plenty of coffee as well to jump start the day.

We jumped into the Tacoma and we headed for downtown Bisbee to sight see. We stopped at the mine so we could take some pictures. Mining is starting back up in Bisbee now in a different location, not at the Lavender Mine were we took photos.

We looked around Bisbee for a awhile before we headed to Douglas, AZ. We arrived in Douglas and we stopped in the Gadsden Hotel to take a few pictures. Then we went to the cemetery to visit Elise's dad's and Mom's headstone.

We stopped at Sheila's house to pickup the key for the cabin. We spent a little time visiting with Teresa and the pugs. After that Elise showed Bobby her old stomping ground. We saw the house she used to live in as a child, and the schools she attended in Douglas.

As we were walking down 11th Street, Sheila drove up in a Douglas schools car and she yelled out of the window, "Gosh they let just about any riff-raft wonder the streets don't they? Ha, ha, ha!

We returned to Bisbee and we settled in to play  some "Wizard" and we knocked back a few Jack and Cokes. We also had some popcorn with our cocktails. Of course I lost and Elise won, she even beat Bobby this time. After the beat-down in cards we rested up until we it was time to meet Ann and Johnny for dinner.

At around 6:00pm we met up at the "555" restaurant near the courthouse were Ann works. Ann treated us to a very nice dinner. Elise had lettuce wraps, I had fried trout, Ann had New York Steak, Johnny and Bobby both had hamburgers. It was a very nice evening.

We returned to the San Jose Lodge and we called it a night. Here are a few pictures that we took today. Enjoy!

Hello!   

It's A Hump Day!! How are you doing? I want to apologize to all of my followers. I have not been blogging for since we returned from our stay-cation in Bisbee, Douglas and the mountains at Sheila's cabin. I returned to a serious problem that involves my son JT. I am still in the process of getting it taken care of. It is a very serious matter and I hope that it gets resolved very soon, because it is very stressful on us.

Here is a bit of the first day of our stay-cation:

12 Sept 12

We left home at around 12:45pm. We stopped to get snacks and a drink at a Quick Stop. We arrived in Bisbee at around 2:30pm. We checked into the San Jose Lodge in rooms 103 and 104. 

We had a Jack and Coke and Bobby had 7up with Southern Comfort. After our refreshing cocktails we headed for downtown Bisbee. We walked around for about an hour or so. It was now close to 5:00pm
so we stopped by the courthouse where Ann presides. Ann is Elise's sister.

We waited outside of the courthouse for Ann but she  did not come out. So Elise decided to venture inside to see where she was. They visited for a bit and then she returned to the Tacoma where Bobby and I were.

They had decided that we should meet up at the Copper Queen Hotel at the bar. We drove to the Copper Queen and we had a drink while we waited for Ann to arrive. Once she did she ordered a beer and we sat talked for a while and people watched. Ann was introduced to Bobby by Elise.

Ann had to go to pick up Johnny so we made plans to meet back up at Santiago Mexican Restaurant at 7:00pm. It is right next door to the Copper Queen Hotel. Ann returned with Johnny and we ordered dinner.

We had margaritas of course, nachos, tacos, and enchiladas. The food was good but no where near as good as the food in Tucson. Ole.' We said our good nights then we headed back to our hotel the San Jose Lodge. Once we got there it was game over.

Please everyone bear with me while I go through with this very personal problem with JT. It has Elise and I at our wits end.

It's Hump Day!

    We are just about to load up the Tacoma. We will be hitting the road at around noon. We will chat at you when we return on Sunday evening.

Well, the day has come to a close. It has been a good one up until this evening. Another problem with JT, again.

We had a very nice dinner with Roy this evening. We headed for Furr's but come to find out it has closed. What a shame we loved that place.

We went to "Cody's Beef and Bean" instead and the the food was very good. We returned home and I checked my email and I checked on Chris as well. Elise hit the sheets to read. 

I have developed a pounding headache and I hope that I am able to get to sleep. I am really upset with JT for not keeping his promise, because his action will cause problems for many people.

I will follow Elise after Angelica leaves for the night. Have a good night.

     It's a Tricky Tuesday! What's up? I started the day off at 4:50am caring for Chris. Elise is not in her cave this morning and she gazed up at me as my feet hit the floor. So she will be following my lead and getting her day started. Any plans for today?

     The coffee is good and a glass of instant breakfast is the ticket to get me motivated. It is a nice quiet morning here in the valley but we still need some more rain. Angelica will be here this morning to care for Chris.

      I have to gas up the Tacoma this morning for our stay-cation. Then we will complete our packing and we will load up the Tacoma. John will be here caring for Chris while we are away and Roy will be here helping out at the Democratic Party Headquarters.

     Hey the radio just said that we have a 70% chance of rain today. I had better get my flip flops ready for a quick romp in the rain, eh? With that high of a percentage of the wet stuff I bet the scooter lady will be on the prowl. I have a new pair of flip flops so she will have to soup up her scooter to catch a glance at me, smile!

     Well, I had better get busy with Chris. Have a great day and stay safe.

Good Night!

    Well, the day has just about ended. How was yours? We got a little bit of rain and that was nice. It was slow and steady. I was eyeing my flip flops for a quick romp in the rain, but I got side-tracked and I could not join Jane for a quick dash.

     Elise prepared corn on the cob for dinner, and small potatoes, baby carrots, cottage cheese and tomatoes. A very good spread.

     We are expecting Roy Johnson to arrive any minute now. He is going to visit Tucson and from Seattle, Washington to aid in getting the votes for Pres. Obama. Roy will be staying with us for a few days.

    Elise is at the Tucson Women's Chorus, they started the practice sessions up again. I am caring for Chris this evening. Tomorrow we will get all packed up for our stay-cation and check for last minute items to pack.

     Well, I had better get back to Chris. We hope that your day was a good one? Sleep well and enjoy tomorrow.

     Lookout it's Monday! How are you? I started the day off at 4:45am caring for Chris. Elise is not in her cave this morning so she will be up and about soon. Any plans for today?

     We are being sprinkled on this morning and I can hear thunder boomers off in the distance. More than likely it will not amount to anything today. I just go off of the treadmill and the workout was refreshing.

     The coffee is good and hot this morning and I am looking at a small slice of ham and an egg would go good about right now. Of course another cup of coffee is a must.

     I have to run an errand this morning and I will begin to  pack for our stay-cation. We are going to Bisbee, Douglas and then we will camp for a couple of nights in the mountains. While we are away John will be here caring for Chris. We leave on Wednesday afternoon and we will return on Sunday afternoon. We hope that Yogi and Boo-Boo don't make an appearance while we are in the woods, smile!

     Well, I had better get to it. Have a good day and keep your eyes and ears open.

Well, the weekend is almost kaput! How was yours? We enjoyed our breakfast at the "Egg Connection" this morning. The coffee was hot and the food was good.

We played a few games of Wii. We played Sega Racing and I lost badly. Then we played "Golf" and Elise beat me badly. Then we played "Tennis" once again I lost. Lot's of fun though.

We watched a few more episodes of "The Mentalist" and Chris enjoyed it and so did we. We chowed down on the BBQ ribs that I cooked yesterday. We had baked beans along with them. It was falling off the bone good. Loraine did I answer your question. Smile!

Rosie is here to care for Chris this evening. We are going to go the the "Loft" to see "Farewell My Queen", it sounds pretty good and we shall see.

We hope that your day was a good one? Beware though tomorrow is Monday!

Mood: Waking Up!

Music listening to: None, but the  fur-baby is having a bark-a-thon.

     It's Sunday! How are you? I started the day off at 4:45am looking in on Chris and getting him settled. Elise is in her cave this morning, so she maybe a bit slow on hitting the floor this morning. Any plans for today?

     The coffee is good and hot this morning.  We are going to have breakfast at the "Egg Connection" this morning. I am fighting with myself on what to have for breakfast. I guess I am hungry, eh?

       Elise and I watched a few episodes of the "Mentalist" and it is pretty good. Rosie will be here this evening to care for Chris. Once she is here Elise and I will be going to see a movie. A very busy day, huh?

       Will, I had better get to steppin'. Have a good Sunday and beware that tomorrow is Monday!
