Good Night! Buona Notte!
Well, today has been a good one for a Monday. How was yours? Chris and I relaxed by listening to the Boogie Woogie Man on CD. Later we watched a little TV until Elise returned home.
Elise prepared dinner which consisted of soup, sandwich's, cottage cheese and tomatoes. We got it all down with orange juice. We also watched a couple of episodes of Friday Night Lights. Chris was glued to the TV, he love it.
I am caring for Chris this evening and Elise with the Tucson Women's Chorus practicing. Not a bad day, huh? Well here is what we did one the first day of our trip to the Chiricahua Mountains. Enjoy and have a great evening. I will post the second day tomorrow.
Cheers.......Jessie & Elise
13- April -12
We left home at around 12:45pm after Angelica arrived to care for Chris. We listened to a book on CD on our way to Douglas to get the cabin key from Sheila. Elise did not bring her phone so we had to go by the high school to see if she was there, and she was not. So we went to her home and she was there. We picked up the key and we headed for the Chiricahua's.
We arrived at about 3:00pm and it is just beautiful here. We unloaded the Tacoma and we set up the tent. We opened the cabin and we turned on the gas for the stove. I started the generator out in the shed and it started right but it quickly stopped running due to it was out of gas. We got our sleeping area all set up inside of the tent, and we set up a table and we put lights in different areas to use at night.
After that we started a fire in the fire pit and we set up a table outside and chairs. We sat around the fire pit and we downed a few Jack and Cokes and we just chilled out. We started the grill so we could grill up some hot dogs and Elise prepared some chili with beans, and we had chips, cheese and cottage cheese as well. Our dinner was very good. We are still in short sleeves and the wind is starting to pick up just a bit. It is about 6:00pm and we are still relaxed. We got everything cleaned and washed up and we decided to call it a night. The wind was still picking up.
We called for lights out at around 8:00pm and the wind is really blowing now. You could hear in going through the canyons really fast. We were really nice and warm in our tent and we had plenty of covering to stay warm. The problem was that the wind sort of kept waking us up every now and then. The wind is really blowing on our tent, but it held it's ground. We made it through the night. Tomorrow Sheila will be joining us and we are looking forward to that.
The above pics are some of the ones we took on our first day in the Chiricahua's. Enjoy!
