Buon Martedi! Taco Tuesday! (il giorno di San Patrizio).  How are you doing? It is a nice, sunny morning here in Tucson. Any plans for today?

The coffee is a good robust French Roast Blend, and a second cup will be enjoyed later this morning. Alexa is awake and she said that I have an errand to run this morning. I asked her to play some "Funk Jazz" for me today.

I hit the sheets early last night because I wasn't feeling that well. More tired than anything. I over did it yesterday with resetting the Dew Drop Inns and recleaning the guesthouse.

We are going to visit my girlfriend Shoo Shoo's home this evening to share Lori's birthday.

Here is what happened on 22 Feb on our cruise. Enjoy!

We got up and we went to the "Garden Cafe" for breakfast.

After breakfast we met up in the "Bliss Theater" for our tour to the Panama Canal by ferry.

We left the ship at around 8:45am. We boarded a tour bus which drove us to the pier where we boarded a ferry which held 245 people. We got decent seats under an awning; some people were in the sun all day. It was a hot and humid trip, but very interesting.

Before we boarded the ferry we drove through several points of interest.

The ferry left and at that point we went through 3 different locks. It was tedious, because we had to wait each time for a huge shipping container ship that held 5000 cars. It was huge.

It went through each lock with us, so we had to wait while until it ponderously made its way into each compartment.

It is quite interesting to see the mechanical mules pull the big container through the gate. The mules also kept the ship centered in the canal, so it would not bang against the sides of the canal walls. It was only about 12 to 24 inches between the ship and the canal walls.

So, it took around 6 hours to go through the three locks. They served us lunch on the ferry and provided sodas and water. Beer was available for purchase if you wanted it.

It was an experience of a lifetime. We are awed at the people who conceived and planned and built the canals.

We returned to the Jade. We were tired and hungry. So, we went to "Alistar" a fancy restaurant on the Jade. The food was delicious.

We called it game over for the day. Another good day on the Jade. The Jade will be going through the locks tomorrow.
