Sunday Morn

Good Morning

Mood: Lazy

Music listening to: Love To Love You by Donna Summer

How are you doing? I started the day off at 5:20am looking in on Chris and getting him settled for the day. Elise is caring for Chris this morning. We had a very relaxed day yesterday and weather wise it was not too bad at all.

We played Wii for a while and then we watched a DVD called American Affair that was very good. It was about one of the many affairs that John F. Kennedy has during his lifetime and how it was kept secret. While we watched the movie we eat dinner that was excellent. Elise prepared the chicken and rice and let me tell you is was excellent. Of course we had a couple of glasses of red, smile.

We are going to go out to breakfast this morning with Elise's Mom as usual and we will be joined by Paula and Marty. We are going to the Hungry Fox a county themed restaurant. We are going to go out for dinner this evening with Elise's Mom to a place called Casa Molina they have great enchilada's. Can you say Margaritaville? Rosemary will be caring for Chis this evening.

Well, here is a little bit about our stay-cation to the Desert Diamond Casino and Hotel.

We departed from home at about 12:30pm on the 12th of August and I was supposed to drop Elise off at her Tai Chi class while I ran a few errands. That got changed when we were informed by Brent that his Dad had a stroke last week and we talked about it for about 25 minutes and we missed Elise's Tai Chi class. We arrived at the hotel at about 1:30pm and we checked into our room and it is very nice. We got settled in the room with a Jack and Coke before we head down to the casino.

At about 7:00pm we returned from having a super dinner at the Steakhouse at the JW Marriott resort. We used our dining card to get one dinner for free and our bottle of wine was half priced as well. Elise had the filet that was cooked just he way she likes it medium rare, a baked potato with extra sour cream. I had the ribeye with hash browns with lots of mushrooms on the steak. Elise ate most of the mushrooms because I can only eat so many at a time, smile. The bottle of wine that we shared was called Windmill a Australian blend that was 15.5% very good.

Before we went to dinner we gambled $200.00 and won $199.21 not bad at all and we played for hours. We returned to our room and we played Tumblebugs on the laptop for about an hour and along with a few Jack and Cokes. Elise called it a night and I ventured back to the casino and I played on $40.00 for about 4 hours and lost but I enjoyed it very much and I needed the time to unwind. We got up the next morning around 8:00am and we went to breakfast at Denny's. Elise had a ham and cheese omelet and I had bacon, hash browns and scrambled eggs and of course we both had gallons of coffee.

We returned to the casino and we played a game called Ladybug and we spent $200.00 and we won $340.00, a good time let me tell you and it was fun. We returned to our room to get ready to meet Donna, Chris's massage therapist. We met up at The Gaslight Theatre at around 6:00pm. Prior to that we went to a place called Eclectic Pizza to pick up a gluten free pizza for Elise. The play at the the Gaslight was very good and we enjoyed it very much and the place was packed. The play was called American Freedom League a parody of the comic book series the Justice League it was very funny. I had a small peperoni pizza and Donna had a toasted tuna fish sandwich with fries. We shared a bottle of red with our meal. a Cab from Chile. We returned to our room and we called it a night after we stopped in the casino.

Friday 14 Aug 09, I got up at around 7:00am and Elise at 8:00am. Elise didn't want to get up because she played poker for about an hour on $20.00 and we both played Ladybug and lost $40.00 again it was fun. Elise got up and she went to the exercise room to workout and I hit the casino. Elise joined me afterward and we played a few games and we lost about $52.00, again it was fun. We are packing up and getting ready to check out. We went to Jerry Bob's for breakfast and then we returned home to unpack and rest a bit prior to us going to the movies and then to the Old Pueblo Grill for dinner. It was a very nice stay-cation and we enjoyed every minute of it.

We have booked our next mini-trip for Vegas. We will be going there around the 23rd of Sept 09. We got a fantastic deal at the Excalibur and we like it there a lot. Well, I need some coffee after all of that so have a good day and stay safe.
