TGIF!!

Birth of Venus
Good Morning

Mood: Cheerful but Cautious

Music listening to: Lover Girl by Tina Marie (Classic R&B)

TGIF! How are you doing? I started the day off at 4:45am caring for Chris. Elise is deep in her cave this morning so I have no idea when she will be putting feet to the floor. Any plans for today?

The coffee is good this morning and I am very hungry this morning for some reason. Elise is hosting a marathon bridge game here this afternoon. Yes, the bidders and shufflers will be here again. It will only be three tables of players instead of 4 tables.

Chris and I will be having a open door car review this afternoon at about 1:00pm. We will be letting prospects have a look at the cars that will be parked out front of the house. I will be taking phone numbers and names of would be buyers so they can drop by in two weeks for a after Turkey Day sale. It will be a sign and drive event and it will clear out the front of the house for sure. So if you are looking for a good used car(machina) you need to be here for this special sale. I will be giving a free (CarFax) with every purchase.

Elise and I are going to have dinner out this evening at the "Blue Willow" followed by a play at the "Invisible Theater". It should be a good one, a visit to the IT is never a disappointment. It is a hidden treasure of the Old Pueblo.

Marv will be here to care for Chris this evening. Well, I had better find something for breakfast,my stomach is growling big time, loud enough to wake up Elise, smile!
I will post more about Vegas and Florence later today.
Later......Jessie and Elise

Tiger.Marcie,Jet how are you today?

Loraine,what is up?

Jane and John have a good day.

Shoo and Stu, what is new?

Howdy!!

Howdy!!

Here is a bit more about our trip to Las Vegas. Enjoy!

8 Nov 12

Elise got up at around 10:00am and I was up at 9:30am. Elise's leg is still hurting though. We went down to the food court for breakfast.

We stopped in Micky D's and we got breakfast for under $20.00. Elise got oatmeal and coffee, I got two egg McMuffin and a order of tatos and coffee.

Angelica called while we were eating breakfast to let us know that Chris was not feeling well. He was running a fever of 101.6 and he is complaining.

Angelica, called Dena who said that he might be having kidney problems. We did not think that was the problem. I told her to give Chris 20ml of  liquid Tylenol and plenty of water. I instructed her to give us a call later about Chris's progress.

We got together with Bobby and we walked the strip some more and we stopped in several casinos. We returned to the "Excalibur" to grab some dinner.

We ate at "Dicks" it is a rowdy eatery that is known for giving it's patrons a rough and hard time all in good fun. It even has a disclaimer that you should read before you decide to take a seat.

The servers are rude, crude, and a lot of fun. The food was pretty good. We had fried catfish, wings, and Elise got the "Big Ass Burger" yes that is the name of it, really!

Elise and I had beers and Bobby had martini. Our waiter made hats for Bobby and I. I will post the pics so you can see us in our hats.

Their was a guy and his family took a seat a their table and were talking to the server. The server came back and put a hat on the guy that said" I fart dust". He did not care for the humor. So he and his family got up and left. I guess they lost their sense of humor at the slots or tables.

"Dicks" is packed with people having a good time eating, drinking and wearing there hats. One lady was taken away by one of the serves and she came back with about 15 or more balloons in her hair. She loved it and people were getting out cameras and cell phones to take pictures.

Angelica called again to say that Chris was feeling better and that is temp was now 98.6. I had her to give Chris another 20ml of Tylenol and more water.

After we left "Dicks" Bobby went up to his room for a few and we left to go back to the MGM grand. Bobby was going to come back over to play a few slots and Elise and I did the same. At around Elise called it a night and I stayed and played the slots. A good thing I did because I won $250.00 on the Playboy slot. I quit and then I called it a night.  Another good time in Sin City.

What is up?

Well,, here is a bit more about our trip to Firenze. Enjoy!

17 Oct 12

We got up at 11:30am this morning. Yikes! Went hit the sheets at 8:30pm we were tired and achy. Elise's leg was hurting really bad and she tossed and turned during the night. She took 2 extra strength aspirin and that did the trick and she finally got to sleep.

The guys that usually show up across the did so at around midnight with their beers but this time they were pretty quiet and they keep shushing each other, so someone must to have complained.

In fact, a group of young Americans walking by in a whirlwind of of shouts and drunken laughter were the culprits this time. We are not planning on doing much today because we are tired and sore.

We decided to walk to the Ponte Vecchio and look around. We looked at art and we bought a drawing being sold by a street vendor. Then we tried a trattoria that Elaine and Bill suggested. It was great.

We both ordered a glass of vino rosso. For our first course we crusted bread with various toppings on it. One was tomato. one was liver pate', one was red sauce, one was with mushrooms, and one has sausages in a sauce. ALL GOOD!

Then Elise had spaghetti with meat sauce, and I had tortellini with meat sauce. We both were very happy with our choices. After lunch we walked around on the Ponte Vecchio and bought 3 tee-shirts for $15 euros. Elise spotted 2 more tee-shirts that she liked and she bought those at a cost of 2 for $24 euros.

We walked some more and we stopped to get some gelato. I got a limoncello gelato, and Elise got a cone filled with banana gelato and rice pudding gelato. It was HUGE! Oh so good. There was a lady dressed as one of the living statues but she did not stay still. She was very animated and she mimicked the people passing by. She even mimicked Elise while she was eating her gelato. She started to show that her stomach was swelling from the gelato that Elise was eating.

We watched her for a long time she was very entertaining.  Elise gave me the rest of her cone and she went over to put some coins in her hat. She then asked Elise in perfect English if she had eaten the whole cone, and Elise replied" No my husband ate the rest" and she started to laugh. We also bought a few postcards and a few bookmarks as gifts.

On the way back to our B&B we stopped at the kebob place and bought some beans, a gyro and a few more Moretti birras for dinner. It was a good peaceful and relaxing day in Firenze. We chilled out for the rest of the day.

Thirsty Thursday!!

Good Morning!

Mood: Hopeful

Music listening to: The Way You Make Me Feel by MJ

It's a Thirsty Thursday!! I started my day off at 4:45am caring for Chris. Elise is in her cave this morning and she is stirring around so she will be up soon and heading for the gym. Any plans for today?

The coffee is good this morning and I am out of donuts, danish, cookies, not good, smile! Angelica will be here this morning to care for Chris and Rosie will be here this afternoon.

Chris and Elise will be getting a massage this morning from Pam. It is quite a bit warmer here in the Old Pueblo this morning and that is a good thing.

Elise and I may go to the movies this afternoon to see "Skyfall' the new James Bond movie. It got four stars so it must be very, very good.

We saw the movie " Sessions" yesterday and it was excellent. Great acting and to see Helen Hunt in the all together was (WooHoo), smile and I was big time!

Well, I had better get busy with Chris. I will post more about Firenze and Vegas later this morning. Have a great day.

What's New?

What is up?

Well, here is a bit more about our trip to Sin City. Enjoy!

7 Nov 12

We got up at around 7:30am. We lazed around watching the news on TV about Obama's re-election. WooHoo!

We got ourselves together and we headed over to the "Excalibur" to meet up with Bobby for breakfast at the buffet. It cost us $16.00 apiece and well worth it. The food was very good and the selection was vast.

After breakfast we hit the slots and we started to win for a change. After we played slots for awhile Elise and Bobby bought tickets for "Thunder Down Under" for this evening at 9:00pm. I decided to continue to pull some slots instead of watching guys shake their groove thangs and money makers, smile! The tickets were expensive but Elise said that it was well worth the $75.00 a piece price tag. They got seats front row center so if the urge hit to reach out and touch something, well enough said about that, eh? For more details please contact Elise or Bobby, smile!

We left the "Excalibur" after we checked out Bobby's room. We stopped back over to our room at the "MGM Grand" and Bobby got a chance to see what our room looked like. Elise put on her walking shoes because were going to walk the strip to show Bobby the sights.

We stopped for a light lunch. Elise had a DQ ice cream, Bobby had a chili dog and fries and I choose not to have anything. We began our trek down the strip. A lot of people are out this afternoon.

We stopped in the Venetian so Bobby could take it all in.  We were there for awhile and they have some very potent drinks, smile. So we played a slot or two. We continued to walk the strip so Bobby could take as many pics as he desired.

Later we stopped at the "Bellagio" jut in time to see the water show. It was very good and it was wall to wall people there taking movies and pics. Bobby got to see it at the best time in the dark while the water was lighted.

We left there and we headed back toward our hotels. We stopped in "New York, New York" at the "Nine Irishmen" for dinner. We had about a 30 minute wait so we played a few more slots in "New York, New York".

After our table was ready we placed our orders. Elise had a couple of "Redbridge beers", Bobby had a "vodka martini" and I had a English beer called" Toxic Shock" that was pretty good.

Elise had "Bangers and Mash", Bobby had "Shepherds Pie", I had a "Pork Porterhouse" with mac and cheese. All very good. We returned to our respective hotels until it was time for the show at the "Excalibur"

Bobby and Elise met up for the show and I played more slots. I did pretty good while they watched the guys shake their booties! After the show Elise and Bobby found me at a slot and they said the show was very good.

So we played slots for a bit more. Bobby departed after playing the slots and Elise turned in at around 11:00pm. I continued to play the slots until 11:30pm, with some luck I might add. That ended our second night in Sin City.

Hello!

Hello!

I am back. Here is a bit more about our trip to Firenze. Enjoy.

16 Oct 12

It is 6:00am and we are up early due to we are going to catch the train to Pisa and to Livorno. We had quite a night: first of all the noise from all of the people waiting to get into Il Contadina for dinner last night. Even though it is raining out the crowds are still there. Yes, the food is that good!

Next around 3:00am city workers were cleaning the streets and a machine was sweeping them as well. Also the trash bins were being emptied too! They made a lot of noise, so much for a good night's sleep, eh?

We left for the train station to catch our train to Pisa. It took about an hour to get there and it cost us $15 euros. We walked around Pisa for about an hour and a half before we arrived at the tower. We saw a sign that pointed the direction to the tower and about 15 minutes later there it was. It is fantastic.

We looked over the tower and the Duomo along the crowds that were there with us. We started to wear down so we stopped for something to eat and so we could get off of our feet.

We stopped at Trattoria Pizzeria. Elise ordered a Calzone and I ordered a pizza. We both had beers to get it all down. It was delicious. We continued to walk around the tower area. We stopped at a souvenir stand and we picked up a tower replica for Rosie and a tee-shirt for Johnny. Then we headed back to the train station to catch the train for Livorno.

We noticed that lots of people were getting on the train without a ticket so we decided to follow suit. Livorno is right outside of Pisa. We're bad right?

We arrived in Livorno and then we were punished for being bad. We decided to locate the area where I used to live, and we could not find it at all. We walked and walked looking for the street and the complex that I lived in 40 years ago.

The weather was perfect and that was a good thing let me tell you. All of that walking was not a blessing at all. Elise had developed a blister on her foot and her leg started to bother her, and I was about to give out too!

We stopped in a pizza/bar place to call a cab to get us back to the train station and they did not have a phone but they gave us the number to call a cab. We went over to the next building which was a bar and we ordered a couple of beers. The bartender called us a cab to take us to the train station.

I asked the taxi driver about my old address and he said that it was two via Adolpho Tommasi streets in Livorno and mine was way on the other side of the city. Livorno is a huge port city that has grown by leaps and bounds since I lived there.

We paid the driver and we got back on the train this  time we paid for the train back to Florence. It took about two hours to get back to Florence. Our feet hurt and we were very tired, but it was a fun day.

It is now 6:30pm and we are back in our B&B. We are having leftover Greek food, with some rice and white beans covered in a very hot sauce that makes you eyes water. It is so good! It has been quite a day.

Good Night!

Well the day has come to a close and it has been a pretty good one. Took it slow and easy all day long. I am still waiting on my Mojo to come back home. Maybe I left it in Vegas, smile!

Elise prepared breakfast for dinner this evening. We had homemade waffles, sausages and plenty of coffee. We watched the last episode of "Dexter" season six. It is such a good show and we will be waiting for season seven. Chris was glued to the screen.

I am caring for Chris this evening and Elise is checking her email. As you can see it has been a good slow day. How was yours?

Well, I had better check on Chris. Have a good night and sleep well.

Howdy!

Howdy!! As promised here is a bit more about our trip to Firenze. Enjoy!

15 Oct 12

We got up at around 10:30am this morning, due to it was so quiet last night being a Sunday and all. We are well rested and ready to tackle the day.

Last night Fernanda and her husband came by the B&B to clean rooms that were vacated. We had the B&B to ourselves on Sunday and it was heavenly!

We roamed around for awhile and we stopped for some lunch. We had pita bread with lamb (Gyro) plus a bowl of rice with beans and chicken on top. It was very spicy but very good. We got it at a small restaurant very near our B&B. We took it back to our room to enjoy it.

We left the B&B again at around 12:00pm right at the chiming of the church bells. We walked in a light rain to try to find the grocery store that we stopped in the other day.

Elise was wearing her Indian moccasins which were not good for her to be wearing in the rains because they were very slippery on the streets. Elise was hanging on to me for dear life and I didn't mind that at all.

We could not find the store at all. I insisted that it was a certain way and it was not. Elise insisted that is was in a different direction and it was not there either. So we decided to end our search for that day.

We stopped at currency exchange to get more Euros. We got a $1000.00 dollars worth but the rate was not as good as what you we got in Phoenix, but we need more Euros to get us through the rest of our stay.

We walked back to the B&B and Elise changed shoes. We went to the train station to check on train tickets to Pisa. The train leaves tomorrow at 8:20am. Elise was going to charge the tickets on her credit card but we decided to wait and get them at the ticket counter.

It has been raining steadily all afternoon. It is raining much harder than it was when we started out. We stopped at a small store and we bought milk, cookies, candy, hand lotion, and honey. It cost $20.37 euros. We headed back home as we did it started to rain big time. It rained and rained for the rest of the afternoon.

We read books and relaxed and listened to the rain. After awhile the rain turned into mild droplets. We had to venture out for dinner and we did. We decided to eat at "Il Contadino" right down stairs. It is a trattoria that we have eaten at before.

We had the pre-fixed menu. Elise had fettucine with mushrooms and I had the fussili(cork screw noodles) with tuna and a red sauce. For the second course Elise had salad, and I had steak fries. For the third course Elise had the swordfish and I had the rolled beef with cheese and prociutto inside. We also has some good vino rosso. The bill came to $27 euros total. A Good Deal!

We went back up to our room and we rested and we prepared for the next day. We hit the sheets early because we had an early train to catch in to morning for Pisa and Livorno. Another good day in Firenze.

Vegas!!

Hello!

Well, here is what went on in Las Vegas on our first day. Enjoy!

We departed Tucson at around 8:15am after Angelica arrived to care for Chris while we were away. We got the Prius all loaded and Elise, Bobby and I were heading for
Sin City.

We stopped in Eloy to grab some breakfast because we were starving. We dined in a truck stop that we have stopped in several times. Elise ordered ham, eggs, tatos, and toast. Her ham slice was huge.

I ordered french toast, sausages, hash browns, eggs, and a biscuit with gravy. Bobby ordered a steak burrito, and we all had plenty of coffee.

Then we headed for Phoenix. We missed all of the traffic and we did not encounter any burning trucks, or wrecks that could have hindered our progress. We have had those type of problems on our previous ventures to Vegas.

We stopped in Carefree to get gas and a pit stop. We continued on to Kingman and we stopped there for a few snacks and drinks. We were listening to a book on CD titled"In Cold Blood" that is very, very good.

We arrived at the MGM Grand at around 4:00pm. We checked in and Bobby checked into the Excalibur across the street. We had great rooms, and Bobby's view was looking directly down the strip. This is Bobby's first time visiting Las Vegas, we are sure that he will enjoy every minute of our stay.

So we met up with Bobby and we hit the slots. We had a great time on the slots and Bobby did pretty good on his, not so good for us, smile!

We were trying to keep track of how the election was going while we were playing the slots. So we decided to eat some dinner. We were going to eat at the buffet but it was way too expensive. $36.00 each, we not going to pay that for a buffet.

So we ate at the Rainforest Cafe. Elise has chile con queso, Bobby had spinach dip and chips,, I had fries, and buffalo wings. Elise and Bobby had water with their meal and I had an orangecicle (no alcohol), smile!

After dinner we hit the slots again. We were sitting next to a couple from Tampa and when she heard that Obama has won the election she was very pleased (as we were). We played for a while longer and then we called it a night. A good first night in Sin City.

The coffee is good this morning and I am on my second cup already. I am eyeing a sweet roll and I believe that it is going down, smile! Angelica will be here this morning to care for Chris this morning.

We are slowly getting back into the swing of things around here, smile. I was told by my dear friend Loraine that I lost my Mojo and I need to get it back. I agree with her 100% and I am going to do just that post haste.
