Thirsty Thursday!

Good Morning

Mood: Happy

Music listening to: Rapture Of You by Anita Baker (classic R&B)

How are you this morning? I started the day off at 3:30am this morning, yes I said 3:30am this morning. Elise was awake to but for just a minute or two. We were awakened by natures fireworks. We got thunder and lightening and a nice breeze. The dogs did not care for it at all, I guess it was too early for them.

All of a sudden Mother Earth let loose with some much needed rain and it smelled great. I even got up to have a look to make sure that I was not dreaming. It was wonderful! I hope that we get a repeat during the day. The coffee is good this morning and I am down to my last donut, smile. Any plans for today?

Angelica will be here this morning to care for Chris and Rosemary will be here at 1:00pm. We had a very, very nice dinner last night at The Lodge On The Desert. We started off with a glass of red that was pretty good. We had a Spinach Salad made of organic spinach, Green Valley pecans, sliced pears and Arizona honey vinaigrette. It was great.

The entree was Prime NY Strip Loin'Twice Cooked'. It was overnight slow roasted and then grilled, we also had cast iron chipotle-baked potatoes, De Mill cheddar, seasonal veggies and Lodge steak sauce. It was delicious and we recommend a visit to the Lodge On The Desert. The chef Ryan Clark just won the 2011 Iron Chef competition here in Tucson.

After dinner we went back home to get Elise's Kindle so we could read while we were at the Arizona Inn waiting for the show to start. At the Inn we sat at the bar and read and we consumed a glass of red and we snacked on peanuts and fruit. We departed the bar and we headed for the showroom.

We sat down at a good center table and we could see everything on stage and we could people watch as well, one of my favorite things to do. We spotted Stu and Shoo Shoo as they came in and I went over to say hello to them, it was good to see them. I went over to the bar and I got a glass of water and a martini as well before the show started.

Susan Clausen got up on stage and she got the show started and she thanked all of the sponsers and supporters of the Invisible Theatre. She introduced the "Wild Women" and the blues program began. The Wild Women were Lisa Otey on the piano and vocals, Diane Van Deurzen on vocals, and Heather Hardy on vocals and violin.

I have to tell you these three Wild Women had the place rocking with their sultry blues renditions, it was excellent. What a show, what a show! My favorite was Heather she really could play that violin and make it talk, wow! After the show we bought a CD with many of the songs on it that they amazed us with. We returned home and we read for a short while and we called it game over.

We are going to go to the movies this afternoon the see "The Beaver" with Mel Gibson at the Crossroads theatre. Well, I had better get busy and get Chris settled for Angelica. Have a great Thursday. Stay safe and I hope that we get more rain today. I also got a hug at the beginning of the show from Susan Clausen that was nice. I guess my Mojo was working last night because a got a kiss on the cheek after the show was over from Susan Clausen as well and Elise noticed that one, smile. Hey, I guess I still got it,whatever that is and I am sure that it makes Elise very proud and happy. Now that was a good save, right?
Later..............

Tiger,Marcie, Jet, have a wonderful Thursday.

Loraine, we had a fantastic evening and the food at the Lodge was great.

Hump Day and Hot Still!!

Good Morning

Mood: We live in a volcano!

Music listening to: Bad Mama Jama by Carl Carlton

It's Hump Day!! How are you? I started the day off at 5:00am caring for Chris. Elise is starting to melt and flow like lava this morning but she will meld as soon as starts her day. As I was heading toward Chris's house this morning I was approached by two lizards in the backyard. The were following me as I headed toward Chris's front door. I turned around and one of them said " Excuse me but can we come in for a while it is dreadfully hot out here". Any plans for today?

We got a lot of wind last night and I thought to myself that rain cannot be to far behind, but I was wrong. Chris will be visited by his favorite case manager Jeanne this morning, so I will have to get him ready for his arm wrestling match with her.

This evening we are going out for dinner at "The Lodge On The Desert" and after that we are going to go "The Arizona Inn' to listen to a local singer and of course some vino will be involved, smile. It is put on by "The Invisible Theatre". Man it is hot! It is 5:30am and it is 86 degrees right now.

Well, I had better get busy and get this day started. Have a good Hump Day. If you have some rain to spare please send it our way, we will be forever grateful.
Later............

Tiger, Marcie, Jet have a good one.

Good Night It's HOT!

Good Night

I have got to tell you it is just too hot! It is 6:45pm and it is 110 degrees. No rain, no breeze, not enough ice cold beer anywhere, smile. Chris was paid a visit by my nurse supervisor and he enjoyed the visit and so did I. I got some news on what is new and what is going on in the area.

I got all of my errands taken care of this morning and I did not go out again until I had to fill the fountain. I swear I saw a bird putting on sun block and flip flops, smile. I am caring for Chris this evening and Elise is catching up on her email.

We had soup for dinner and red peppers, carrots, a cheese sandwich, and cucumbers and onions. We got it all down with some root beer. Man it is hot,we need some rain badly. Well, I had better get back to Chris. Have a good night. I hope that you are cool, calm and collected?

It's Monday again and we are melting here in the Old Pueblo. How are you doing? I started the day off at 5:00am caring for Chris. Elise is still in la-la land but she will be up soon. As soon as she gets up we are going to go outside and do a Tucson rain dance because it is supposed to be 113 degrees today, you heard me right. Any plans for today?

I have a couple of errands to run this morning and that is about it. I can feel my tennis shoes turning soggy as I walk from the car to get inside of a building, it is that hot. We watched two Helen Mirren movies last night and they were superb. Elise fixed breakfast for dinner last night. We had eggs, crisp bacon, toast, diced potatoes with sliced jalapenos out of our garden, and we downed it all with several grapefruit and vodka cocktails, smile.

I think I will give the dogs a bath today to cool them off. Well, I had better get busy. Have a good Monday and take it slow and easy.

How are you doing? Well, the day started off in the crapper, smile. My computer developed a mind of it's own and it gave me fits. I hope that I have the problem fixed now,bu if I don't it's back to the crapper again.

We had a very nice breakfast this morning at The Good Egg and the food was excellent. Elise is caring for Chris today and she just finished giving him a bio-feedback treatment and he spent some time on the standing frame.

He just left to run an errand and I am caring for Chris right now. We are going to install some solar lights in the front yard shortly. After that we will play a few games on the Wii. After and during dinner we will watch a movie on Netflix or we will watch a DVD. Rosemary will be here later in the evening to care for Chris.

We saw the movie "Soul Surfer'" last night at the Crossroads theatre and it was very, very good. It is one of those movies that makes you thankful for what you have and it shows what a very strong will can do. Excellent movie.

The photos above are of Chris's bio-feedback session and him standing on the frame. The characters are Elise's artwork that adores the house on the outside. She does great work. Well, I had better get the solar lights up. Have a great Sunday. It is Sunday right!

Music listening to: Disco Lady by Johnny Taylor (classic R&B)

How are you this morning? I started the day off at 5:00am getting Chris settled and ready for the day. Elise is still chasing Big Foot this morning but as soon as she sees him she will awake and start her day. Any plans?

I have to run a couple of errands this morning while Elise is caring for Chris. Chris and I watched a DVD yesterday called "The Last Exorcist" it was not bad and Chris loved all of the screaming and yelling. It was weird because it was a documentary, smile.

After Marv arrives we met up with Anne at Cody's Beef and Bean. Elise has not seen Anne in many years and I just met her in person. We have chatted and shared emails over the years and Anne is a avid reader of our blog. Dinner was great as always at Cody's. The photo of Anne and Elise was taken by my phone and the lighting was not the best. It was a pleasure for me to see the two of them together. A great evening!

We are going to have Tilapia for dinner this evening with french fries. After dinner we will watch a DVD or we may go to the movies. Well, I had better get to it. Have a great weekend.

Good Night

Good Night

Well, we just got back from Macayo' s and the food was was great. Elise had Lobster tacos and I had Sonoran enchiladas and street tacos. We both had 2 margaritas that were really good.

We got all of the yard work done and it was just too hot outside to be doing that, but we got it done. Elise has hit the sheets and I am watching TV until Rosemary leaves for the night.

We had a pretty good time at the DDC even though we did not fair well. The room was great. We ate dinner that night at Rios with Elise's book club. I was the only male there and I was surrounded by about 12 or so females. I was in heaven, smile!

They discussed the book that they read and decided on the next book to be read. Rio has some very good food and the two Mojito's I had hit the spot. We left Rios and we returned to our room at the DDC. We decided to hit the casino again and still no luck. The lady next to us hit for $3250.00 dollars. One lady hit for $1350.00 on the $5 dollar machine, and a guy hit on the dollar machine a few machines over. It was just not our night but we had fun because we were together.

Well, I had better get back to my TV program. Have a great night.

Cheers...........

Tiger,Marcie, Jet sleep well.

JT good to hear from you.

Rosie, you are on a roll let me tell you.

Carol, yes Seattle is a very nice place indeed.

Shoo Shoo, have a good night.

Jane and John, stay away from those senior moments, they are deadly.

Thirsty Thursday!!

Good Morning

How are you doing? I started the day off at 5:00am caring for Chris. Elise is still at the DDC fuming because we did not do well at all yesterday. She will start her day as soon as she gets triple sevens, smile! Any plans for today?

I am late getting this posted due to Elise and I were doing some yardwork and picking up mesquite cuttings and loading them into the Tacoma. I have to tell you it is burning up outside and it is early. Angelica is here caring for Chris this morning and Rosemary will be here this afternoon.

Chris is getting his massage right now and Elise will follow. We had a very nice stay at the DDC andI will give more details in my next post. We are going to go to the movies this afternoon to see "Lincoln Lawyer". Later in the evening we will be going to Macayo's for Mexican food. We will meet up with Toni, Lee, and Lois. If you hear me asking for another margarita it is not your imagination at all, Ole'.

Well, I had better get busy and see what kind of trouble I can get into. Have a great day.

We Are Boiling Here In Tucson!

Afternoon,

Well Chris's appointment went well and I got all of my errands taken care of except one. I will get that one done tomorrow. We are cooking here in the Old Pueblo, I bet you could scramble up some eggs on the street, and add a few jalapenos and you will have a good meal, yummy!

Well, here is how are trip to Washington went. We would like to thank Sandy, Roy and Susie for showing us a grand time. It was like we were at home but much cooler, smile. The trip was very relaxing and that was all due to our hosts, we loved it.

13 Jun 11

The caregiver arrives with her two girls and Chris was very happy to see them. We left at about 2:00pm and we checked into a Marriott hotel near the airport thanks to my brother Herman and the great rates he gets for us. This one was a suite and it was only $59.00 a night. After we settled in we left for the Desert Diamond Casino to meet with Janice and Frank. We ate prime rib with the works to include three glasses of red for a total of $24.00 plus tip. Yep, you heard me right and it was delicious.

We also heard that Buddy's Grill was closing and that saddened us because they had the best pork chops in Tucson. We played a few slots and after dinner and we spent $360.00 and we won $596.00 not bad at all. We returned to our room early because we had to be up early to catch our flight. A good day.

14 Jun 11

We arrived at the airport at 5:40am and our flight departs at 6:45am. We checked in and we shared an omelet, beans, potatoes and coffee. We boarded and we arrived in L.A. then we departed and we arrived in Oakland and then we arrived in Seattle at 12:10pm. We did not have to deplane at anytime and that was good. While we were in the baggage area Susie called to see if we had made it in yet. She was in the cell phone parking lot and she was on her way to pick us up.

It was so good to see Susie as always. We stopped in at Susie's Mom's house and we picked her up and we had lunch together at Denny's. We took Susie's Mom back home and we headed for Sandy and Roy's home. What a beautiful home let me tell you, wow! We unloaded the car and we settled into our room. Susie really went all out to make the room extra nice and we loved it. We sat out on the Roy's big deck and we throw back some red and watched ships in the bay. It is a wonderful place.

Later Susie, Sandy, Elise and I went to the casino that was run by a Native American tribe here and we played slots. It was fun and we had a great time, but we did not fare that well, smile. Then we went to a hamburger joint called "The Onion Burger" and they have great burgers. I had the pulled pork sandwich that was very good. We downed a couple of whiskey and cokes and I ordered a drink called "Dangerous Dave" which had a bunch of different liquors in it. The limit for that drink was only two to a customer. Roy joined us at the Union Burger had just returned from a flight from India, he is a pilot. Roy gave Elise a beautiful silk jacket from India and it fit her perfectly. We returned to the house and we called it a night, I am sure that Roy was exhausted. A wonderful day.

15 Jun 11

We we were up at 9:30am and the smell of bacon was in the air. It is better than any alarm clock let me tell you. We joined Roy, Susie and Sandy and we had scrambled eggs, bacon, fresh peaches and strawberries and of course plenty of coffee. After breakfast we headed out to catch the ferry to Seattle, Sandy did not come with us on this outing. The ferry ride was great and the views were great. Then we caught the bus to Pikes Market and that was very entertaining. Lot's of shops selling flowers, fresh fish, pottery, t-shirts,silks, wood carvings etc. We stopped at restaurant and we had clam chowder and a few glasses of red for lunch. The name of the wine was "Buried Cane".

We got on the monorail to go to the "Space Needle" and we went to the top and what a view and it was very chilly up there. We were dressed for the weather but another layer of clothing would have been great, smile. We got back on the bus and we returned to catch the ferry back but we missed it by a minute. So we waited for the next one at 6:45pm. We got back to our parking garage and we headed to "Anthony" for dinner. We will meet Sandy and Adam there. Adam is Susie's son. We were in for a treat at Anthony's let me tell you. The food was excellent! Elise had halibut and fresh salmon. I had a rock fish fixed Cajun style, blackened and spicy it was delicious. We also had clam chowder and it was the best that I have ever had anywhere, wow was it good.

We returned home and we got undressed and we hit the jacuzzi. Roy,Elise and I enjoyed the nice soothing warm water. Susie got back from taking Adam home and we all looked at the photos that were taken while we were in Seattle. We called it a night what a night to remember.

16 Jun 11

We started the day early and we looked out of the window and there was a dear and her two small "Bambi" deer eating some of Sandy flowers in the backyard. What a sight that was. We had a small breakfast and we got packed up and ready to head out for the Quinault Resort and Casino. I posted the website to it on the blog and in emails last week. What a beautiful drive and the scenery was great, so many trees and so green. Tons of blooming flowers everywhere. We got checked into our rooms and we stopped in the restaurant for a quick snack and them we hit the casino. It was fun playing the slots there and watching Susie hope for free games, what fun. I had wings for lunch and fries and Elise had a hamburger and fries no bun. It was about 58 degrees mid afternoon and were right on the ocean. We did not do so well with the slots.

Later we went down for dinner Susie had scallops, Elise had prawns, Roy had Dugenous crab and I had you guessed it pork chops, I just had to see how they were there and they were great. We shared a bottle of red and our bill came to $125.00 plus tip, what a spread. We went back into the casino and and things got much better I won $310.00 on a penny machine. It was getting late so I had to stop and join Elise in the room because we had to leave early to get to the airport. Fantastic evening!

17 Jun 11

We were up at 5:30am getting ready and packed so we could head to the airport in Seattle. We checked out at 7:00am and we were on our way. It would take about 3 hours to get to the airport but we got there in 2 hours. Elise said that it was due to Roy's demonic driving, smile. Roy drives very well and he has great reflexes. We got to Seattle and we ate breakfast at Denny's. We got to the airport and unloaded and we said our goodbyes and we thanked everyone for showing us a great time. It was a very good trip and we were tired when we got home, but we stopped at Buddy's Grill and yes it is closed for good. So we went to the "Outback" instead and Elise had the filet, I had the sirloin and we both had lobster tails. We downed a few glasses of red and for desert we shared a Wallaby darn. We drove home and that ended a great mini-vacation. We will back in Seattle in September to start our Alaskan Cruise.

Well, there you have it and we enjoyed every moment of the trip. The photos above are just a few that we taken.

Later.................

We had a very nice breakfast yesterday with Paula and Marty at their home. Paula went all out and the breakfast was wonderful. As a matter of fact I chowed down and I was totally full. Later in the day we watched a DVD with Chris called "Paper Man" and it was strange but very good. We also watched a DVD given to us by Paula and Marty called " La Mission" and it was excellent.

After Rosemary arrived to care for Chris we departed for Zemems for dinner. We were joined by Paula and Marty and the food was excellent as always and we got it all down with a bottle of red and a bottle of champagne. After dinner we went downtown to place called the "Hub" for ice cream a perfect way to end an evening.

We returned home and Elise hit the sheets to read and I watched a little TV until Rosemary left for the night. I checked on Chris and I followed Elise and it was lights out and s end to a very good day. Well, I had better get Chris set and ready for his visitor. Have a good day and stay safe, happy and cool. We catch our plane very early in the morning heading for Seattle, Washington. It should be a good trip. The coffee is good this morning and the donut I am eating has hit the spot nicely.

We had a fantastic breakfast yesterday with Paula and Marty at Teresa's. We also met Doris and Frank as well. They are the couple that they stayed with while in Mexico. Paula and Marty had a wonderful time in Mexico, and it was good to meet Frank and Doris.
