Good Night

Good Night

It has been a very good day today for the most part, a bit hot but a good day. While Kecia cared for Chris I got my errands taken care of this morning. I started my reading assignment for my next class lecture and it is a lot of reading let me tell you. I already have a question picked out to ask you about, so look for it.

Chris and I watched a little TV and we played around on the Wii for a while today. Elise prepared breakfast for dinner this evening. We had homemade waffles, sausages, and hot coffee. While we were eating we watched Mash on DVD with Chris. We got a visit this evening from Amy and here two daughters, my have they grown since we saw them last. Amy used to leave with us a while back, she lived with us for 5 years and now she is married and doing well.

I talked to my brother Herman today on the phone. He lives in St. Louis with his family. It was good to hear his voice today. Herman gets us some great deals on Marriott properties for our stay-cations and mini-vacations. I am caring for Chris this evening and Elise is playing bridge at her Mom's. Elise informed me today that a member of her Tai Chi class father just passed away, another sad day here in the Old Pueblo.

Well, I had better get back to Chris and get him settled and ready for bed. Have a good night and lookout tomorrow is Hump Day!!

Cheers..............

Tiger, Marcie, Jet sleep well.

Herman, thank you for calling us today with info about the Residence Inn on Speedway. Looking forward to receiving the confirmation.

Ross, what 's with the weather over there?

It's A Tuesday!

Good Morning

Mood: Blissful

Music listening to: All Night Long

How are you this morning? I started the day off at 5:15am caring for Chris. Elise is still giving a concert this morning and she hits those high notes very well, smile. Not to worry she will be up soon and waiting on a standing ovation. Any plans for today?

I have to run a couple of errands early this morning and I have to make a recycle run to get rid of some cardboard boxes. Kecia will be here this morning to care for Chris. How is your weather? We are in need of more rain and the temps are slowly starting to climb. The coffee is good this morning and so is this sausage biscuit.

I will start my reading assignment for my next Psyc lecture today, if nothing come up to stop it. I also have to write a few letters to family members in Michigan. Well, I had better get a move on. Have a good day and a better tomorrow.

Later........................

Jeanne, we miss you.

Tiger, Marcie, Jet have a wonderful day.

Steph, what is up?

Good Night

Good Night

It has been a slow Monday and that is good. Chris and I relaxed and we watched TV, took a walk and we listened to history on CD. It got cloudy today but no rain at all. Elise prepared soup for dinner, carrots, peppers and cheese toast. Very good!

I am caring for Chris this evening and Elise is playing bridge at her Mom's. We hope that your day was a good one? Have a good evening and get plenty of sleep.

Cheers..............

Tiger, Marcie, Jet, sleep well.

Herman, did you get the email about the Residence Inn on Speedway for Sept?

Ross, glad that Gladys birthday was a good one.

Rosie, how are you?

Monday Again!!

Good Morning

Mood: Reflecting

Music listening to: Once In A Lifetime

It's a Monday! How are you doing? I started the day off at 5:15am caring for Chris. Yes, you guessed it, Elise is still rolling down a river but she will be up soon and taking names. Any plans for today? Nothing planned for today as of yet. The coffee is good and hot this morning and I am thinking about some toast to go along with it.

It has been a very hard weekend for Elise and I and we want to thank everyone again for the very nice sentiment and words for our dearest friend Jeanne and her family. We have been taking it slow and easy for the past few days and we are slowly getting back into our routine.

We attended a memorial service yesterday for Ed who passed away a short time back. It was very nice and it was very good to see all of the people there that knew Ed in one way or another. Ed's wife Shoo Shoo is a very inspirational woman and you could see the sincere gratefulness in her face at the memorial.

Well, I had better get to work and see what this day will bring. Have a good day and stay safe, happy and healthy.

Later...............

Jeanne, we miss you!

Tiger, Marcie, Jet, have a good day.

Monna, glad that you are back.

Joe and Mary, how are you?

Ross and Denise, congrats on Mum's 100th b-day. What a milestone.

Paula and Marty, thank you again for making our weekend enjoyable.

Loraine, what is up?

Herman, thank you again for the info about the Residence Inns. We will be emailing you sometime today.

The above photo is off a hat that Elise and I were given while we were at the Rogue Theatre with Paula and Marty. We were wearing our SB1070 tees and the tee was really liked and being talked about, and we even sold on to a man from Patagonia. He loved the tee.

TGIF

Good Morning

Mood: Worried

Music listening to: Object Of My Desire

TGIF!! How are you doing this morning? I started the day off at 5:15am caring for Chris. Elise well she is in a canoe floating down Justin Lane but she will be hitting a dry spot on Alvernon and she will begin her day. Any plans for today? The coffee is wonderful this morning and I am thinking about a omelet with ham, bacon, sausage and lot's of cheese, Yes!

We got rain on pretty good during the night and we have a small lake in the backyard that I have to do something with before we get more rain today. We are going to go out to dinner with Mum this evening to Cody's Beef and Beans, can you say T-bone steak and a carafe of Burgundy? I can and I will, smile. Elise having a bridge marathon here at the house today so it will look like a car dealership out in front of the house this afternoon.

Well, here is what we did on the last day of our stay-cation in Mesa, AZ.

Prior to checking out of the Scottsdale resort we drove to Old Scottsdale for breakfast at US Egg and the food is good there. After breakfast we stopped at Target to get a replacement chain for Elise. We checked out of the resort and we headed for Mesa,AZ. We checked into a Courtyard Marriott that my brother Herman got us a good deal on. We relaxed and had a few Jack and Cokes while we worked on crosswords and we watched a little TV as well.

Later in the evening we left to visit a couple that Elise knew way back in high school. They have a fantastic home with a ballroom dance studio that is amazing. It made me want to break out in a Rumba, smile. Very nice. We had a very nice dinner with them that consisted of salads, New York Strip Steaks, mashed potatoes and we went through 3 bottles of red, yes we did. For dessert we had three different types of sorbet and so cookies that melted in you mouth. A great evening! We returned to the Marriott and we called it a night.

We got up the next day and we stopped at a Denny's for breakfast and we headed for Tucson. We got home and we unpacked and checked on Chris. Later in the evening we went to Oregano's for pizza and vino. It is always a treat to go to Oregano's. We also had a Bellini as well to top the evening off. We returned home and that completed our Scottsdale/Mesa stay-cation.

On the 25th we went on a overnight stay-cation at the Desert Diamond Casino and Hotel. We are Players Club members and we get some pretty good perks. We arrived at the DDC at around 2:00pm and we checked in. While we were getting settled in our room we had a few Jack and Cokes and a few handfuls of popcorn. Jack and popcorn is great! Elise worked on a crossword for a bit and I channel surfed on the TV.

Then we went down to the casino. It was not crowded at all and I forgot that it was a Wednesday evening. We played some slots and we did pretty well, it was a lot of fun especially on the Ladybug slot and the Wizard of Oz. We kept track of the time because we did not want to miss the dinner specials that started at 4pm and ended 6pm. We went into the steakhouse and we had the prime rib dinner. It comes with salad, bread, mashed potatoes and gravy, and we ordered horseradish ( the real stuff not the creamy) to go along with it. What a meal for $9.95 each. The horseradish cleared our sinus and it had our eyes watering, man that is some good stuff. We shared a bottle of red with the meal.

After dinner we hit the slots again and we did well. I would say that we did a little better than breaking even. We returned to our room and we read for a while before calling it a night. We got up the next morning and I put on the coffee. I went down to see what was available at the complimentary breakfast bar and I didn't see anything that interested me. We checked out of the DDC and we stopped at Jerry Bob's for breakfast and the food was very good. We returned home and we unpacked and we checked on Chris and Rosemary arrived to care for Chris. We were going to see "Piranha 3D" but we did not have enough time to get to Park Mall on time. So we went to see" Johnny Saint Cloud" it was very good and well done. We returned home and rested up and we called it a night and there you have it a good time here in the Old Pueblo.

We are talking about a stay-cation for September around the 15-17th. Well, I had better go and check on Elise and get to work with Chris. Have a great Friday and a better weekend.

Later...............

Good Morning Jeanne,worried about you.

Tiger, Marcie, Jet, have a good one.

Erika, how are things?

Steph, any plans for the weekend?

We are all packed an ready for our stay-cation at the DDC and we are looking forward to it. I can taste the prime rib right now!! The coffee is good this morning and I think that I will grab another cup of it. I just got back from running a few errands while Kecia is here with Chris. She will be caring for Chris while we are at the DDC. I just picked up a dozen meat tamales from around the corner, they make so very good ones.

Good Night

Good Night

The day has come to a close and it has been a very good day. Chris has fun messing with the case manager that came to visit him this morning. He gave her a hare time and it was very funny. At one point she was holding his hand and he yanked her against the bed rail and he showed her just how strong he is. He was laughing the whole time.

After Kecia left for the day, Chris and I went into the main house and we watched TV and we played games on the Wii. Elise returned home and we played a few games on the Wii. Wii is so much fun and it really gives you a good workout. Elise left for her doctor's appointment and Chris and I watched some more TV.

I have to tell you we got rained on today and it was great. Marcie, what every you did it worked thanks for sending the wet stuff our way. As a matter of fact we are being rained on right now. The wind was blowing like crazy, we had lightening, thunder boomers and high winds. The streets were running like rivers, loved it.

Elise prepared corn on the cob for dinner, with carrots, red and yellow peppers, and small white potatoes. It was very good. Elise is at her Mom's playing bridge and I am caring for Chris this evening. It has been a good day. Well, here is what we did in Scottsdale on the second day of our stay-cation there.

I started the day of at around 8:00am by putting on the coffee pot. Elise is still counting sheep. Elise woke up when she got a whiff of the coffee brewing. We had our coffee and then we got into our bathing gear and we hit the pool. The water was nice and warm. Elise did about a million laps and all I wanted to do was to just sit in the water totally covered. I had on my snorkel and I just sat under the water forever it was great.

After our pool event we got showered and we went to Denny's for breakfast and it was pretty good. After that we went to a CVS to get a few things that we needed like more Coke for our Jack, some popcorn and some pencils to work crossword puzzles with. We returned to the room and that is were we stayed until we went down for dinner. We played video games on the laptop and we worked on the crossword puzzles. Of course we enjoyed a few Jack and Cokes.

At about 7:15pm we went down for dinner. We invited Sara and Jesse to join us for dinner. Sara is Elise's niece and Jesse is her boyfriend. We had a very nice time and dinner was great. Elise and I had a glass of red and they some as well. After they left we returned to our room and we began to rest up. We played a few more games, watched some more TV and we called it a night. This truly a restful stay-cation. We did not get to see JT because he was too busy at ASU and getting ready to start Grad School. That bothered me a lot but I will get over it.

Well, that was it for that day. We hope that your day has been a good one? Have a good evening and get ready for tomorrow. It's Hump Day!

The photos above are from the resort in Scottsdale.

Cheers...............

Good Night Jeanne, good to talk to you today. Get better!

Tiger, Marcie, Jet, good night.

Steph, are you going to get AOL?

Well, the day has ended and it has been a busy one. I just about got all of my errands taken care of today, but two of them will have to wait until tomorrow. Chris and I relaxed and we played games on the Wii today. We played tennis, badminton, ping pong it was a lot of fun.

Elise prepared a soup for dinner and we had red peppers, yellow peppers, carrots, tomatoes, and cheese toast. It was very good. Elise left to play bridge at her Mom's and I am caring for Chris for the night. Tomorrow we will pack for our short stay-cation at the DDC.

On the 18th the first day of our Scottsdale stay-cation we started by going to Gus Balones for breakfast. Elise had the ham steak, eggs and potatoes. I had the pork chops, eggs and potatoes. We had plenty of coffee to keep us awake for the drive from Tucson to Scottsdale. We let the GPS lead the way.

We arrived at the Millennium Resort in Scottsdale and we checked in. Our room is very nice with a view of the lake, pool and gold course area. We got unpacked and we looked around the resort, we visited here a few years ago. We turned back to our room and loaded up on ice for you know what, right?

Yes, we had a few Jack and Cokes, yes we did. We played a few games on the laptop and we read for a while. We went to the lounge at the pool and we had a very light dinner. We had chicken wings, fries, fajitas, and a couple of glasses of red. We went back to our room and and we had more Jack and Cokes. We watched a little TV and then we called it a night. This stay-cation is for nothing but rest and that is what we did the first day. More to come about the next day in tomorrow's posting.

No massages today for Elise and Chris due to Pam is away on a short trip. We are going to go out for Mexican food this evening with Mum. Yep, I am already saying "Dos Margarita's por favor!" Smile. Rosemary will be caring for Chris this evening. I forgot to mention that yesterday was Chris's birthday. He has hit the big one (40), but he looks (20). He received many books on CD, he loves to listen to them and he is really into science fiction books. He was sung top many times the happy birthday song and he never tires of hearing it. Even when it is not his birthday and he hears it he perks right up and he enjoys it.

We had a fantastic evening last night with Jeanne and Angelica, even though Elise and Angelica gave Jeanne and I a beat down in bridge. I mean they beat us badly. Angelica prepared a great meal last night and I believe I hurt myself eating it, I didn't want to stop. It was a taco salad that was to die for. It was excellent. We had plenty of Jack and Cokes and I think that may be why Jeanne and I got beat. That was a good tactic on Elise and Angelica's part, smile!

Well, I had better get to work with Chris. Have a good day and stay safe.

Later.............

Good Morning Jeanne, wonderful evening last night, thank you.

Tiger, Marcie, Jet, lets get to rolling.

Shoo Shoo,have a good one.

Loraine, what are you up to?

Hump Day is here. I started the day off at 5:15am caring for Chris. Elise is floating on a cloud this morning but she will be back on earth shortly to deal with the Kraken, smile. The coffee is good this morning and I am thinking yogurt. Any plans for today?

Nothing much going on here today. Kecia will be here shortly to care for Chris and I will listen to my last lecture prior to my mid-term on Friday. Yesterday was a hot one and I hope that it cools off a bit today. We need more rain don't you know?

We are going to visit Jeanne and Angelica this evening to talk and have a few snacks and play a couple of hands of bridge. We enjoy our time with them very much and we always look forward to the visit. Well, I had better go and check on the water fountain and open up the rain barrels to water the trees and hedges. Have a good Hump Day!

See Ya................

Good Night

Good Night

Well, another day has gone kaput. It has been a very busy day for me filled with lots of things to do. I apologize for not being online much today. I am reviewing for my mid-term that I am going to take on Friday. I am racking my brain, let me tell you.

I picked up my perk from Desert Diamond Casino and I put it aside for a stay-cation or a vacation. It has been a hot one today at least 103 degrees and it is 7:00pm and it is 99 degrees. Whew! Elise, Chris and I watched the DVD "Repo Man" and it was good and really different.

Elise fixed blueberry pancakes for dinner, sausages, and of course hot coffee. It was very good. We watched a few episodes of Mash with Chris this evening as well. I am caring for Chris this evening and Elise playing bridge at her Mom's. I bought Mum the book called "The Help" on CD and she loves it. It is a very good book and very well done by the readers.

Well, I had better get back to Chris. Have a pleasant evening and get ready for Hump Day.

Ciao!!

Good Night Jeanne, let's get ready o rumble at bridge tomorrow.

How did your day go? It has been a typical Monday and it had a few problems and concerns. I got my errands ran and I got the car serviced and they wanted to do some other things but I said no that they were not needed at this time. Remember it is a Monday!!

Chris and I relaxed and we worked on a crossword puzzle until we got stuck. Elise prepared a nice dinner this evening. We had corn on the cob, little potatoes, tomatoes, and carrots. I am caring for Chris this evening and Elise is playing bridge at her Mom's.

Well, I had better get back to Chris he is laughing up a storm for some reason. Have a good night and a better day tomorrow.

It's a Monday Beware! I started the day off at 5:15am caring for Chris. Elise is still sawing logs this morning but she will be up and at as soon as she has enough logs to build a small cabin, smile. The coffee is good and the sausage biscuit is good too! Any plans for today?

I am going to drop of the Kia for a routine service this morning and I have a few more things that I need to get done. We got rained on pretty good yesterday and we always need that. We watched a couple of DVD's yesterday with Chris. One was called " Unthinkable" with Samuel L. Jackson and it was very good. The other was called" Chloe" with Liam Nelson and it was very good, we were glued to TV for the both of them.

We had a very good breakfast at The Hungry Fox with Mum yesterday. Mum got the standard bacon, eggs, toast and coffee and she got a sweet roll to go. Elise had eggs, bacon and pancakes and coffee. I had the pork chops that were paper thin but tasty with eggs, toast and hash browns and coffee. We were stuffed.

For dinner last night Elise fixed BLT's and they are good anytime. Rosemary took care of Chris last night and Elise and I went to the Loft to see "Winter's Bone" and we both really enjoyed it very much. We returned home and I relived Rosemary. I checked on Chris and we watched a show called "Rubicon" on TV and it is a mind game show that is really good. After the show we called it a night.

Well, I had better hop to it. Have a good day and stay safe it is a Monday!

Mood: Grateful

Music listening to: Give Me A Reason by Tracy Chapman

Guten Morgan!! How are you doing? I started the day off at 5:20am looking in on Chris. Elise will be caring for Chris this morning after she has finished drifting over mesas here in the desert of Tucson. Any plans for today?

The coffee is good and hot this morning and I am thinking about a good hearty breakfast. We are going out for breakfast with Mum this morning to a place called "The Hungry Fox", they are famous for there double yolked eggs, and the food there is great and served up in a very nice country atmosphere. Mum likes there cinnamon rolls there.

Later in the evening Elise and I are going to the movies after Rosemary arrives to care for Chris. Last night Mum took us out for dinner at "Kingfishers". The food was great. We started off with a couple of glasses of red and we had salads. Mum had her favorite fried oysters, Elise had grilled shrimp, jerk salsa, banana rice and veggies. I had baby back ribs, fries and cole slaw. Mum had vanilla ice cream with chocolate sauce for dessert with hot coffee. I shared my grilled polenta pound cake with Elise. It had a compote of blueberries and a scoop of ice cream. It was fantastic, we also had coffee as well. A good evening indeed.

We returned home and we worked on a crossword puzzle for awhile and I corresponded with my brother about our upcoming plans for a stay-cation and a vacation as well. After Rosemary left I checked on Chris and we called it a game over. Well, I had better get ready for some double yolked eggs. Have a great Sunday and a blessed upcoming week.

We got some rain overnight and that is always a good thing for us desert dwellers. I hope that we get more today. Elise and I had a very nice dinner last night at Colors. We both got salads, and Elise got the grilled tuna with a baked potato and veggies. I got the boneless pork chops with fries and veggies. We downed it all down with a few Jack and Cokes.

After dinner we went to Live Theatre to see " A Thousand Clowns" it was good but it dragged during the second half. After dinner we returned home and I checked on Chris and we called it a night. This morning I am taking the Kia in for a routine service that is due while Elise is caring for Chris.
