New Years Eve

Good Morning

Mood: Hopeful

Music listening to: Girl You Knock Me Out

New Years Eve!! How are you doing? I started the day off at 5:00am caring for Chris. Elise is still counting sheep this morning but she will be up very soon. It is a mild 50 degrees this morning and that is a good thing. Speaking of good the coffee is spot on!

Well, our Wildcats just could not cut it last night at the Holiday Bowl against Nebraska. It looked like we did not come to play so we were blown out by the Corn Heads. Elise and I could not watch the whole game so we just turned off the TV. Maybe next season?

So you have any plans for this evening? None here except that we will be having blackeyed peas with ham cubes and cornbread for dinner. We will also bring in the New Year with a bottle of champagne as well. 2009 had many, many challenges for us but we got through them and we are looking ahead to 2010 and we hope that this year will be just a bit better for us and all of our friends and family. I am going to make a few changes that I feel will be best for me and these changes will start on the first day of the year.

Well, I had better get back and check on Chris. I have to pick up Elise this morning at the Toyota dealer because the Prius is getting a routine service. Have a good New Years Eve and stay safe, sound and healthy. Oh yeah we went to see the movie It's Complicated and it is very, very good.

Later...............

Good Morning Jeanne, sorry that you were not well last night.

Marcie, have a good one.

Ross, any plans for the New Year?

Sis, have a good evening and stay safe in the (A).

Claudia, always good to hear from you.

Elise and I are going to go to the movies after Rosemary arrives to care for Chris this afternoon. I am going to start to sort out old paperwork and get the 2010 calenders ready for use. I am looking forward to 2010 because I am going to make so changes within my life that I feel are needed badly.

Well, I had better check on Chris before the caregiver arrives. Have a good Hump Day and stay safe.

Good Night

Good Night

Well it has been a different kind of day I must say. The caregiver who was supposed to come this evening called and said that she could not make it, so she will need not to apply. The caregiver who was supposed to come tomorrow morning showed up this morning and we had to send her back home due to Chris's case manager was here to visit with Chris. What a SNAFU, eh?

Well, we had the caregiver who showed up this morning come this evening to observe Chris's routine and she will be back tomorrow morning to train. What a day this has been. Elise prepared breakfast for dinner this evening. We had french toast, sausages and coffee and it was very good. I am caring for Chris now that the caregiver has left. Elise has hit the sheets already.

I had better check on Chris and then I will call it a night as well. Sleep well!

Cheers..................

Good Night Jeanne

Sis, it was so good to hear from you today. Hang in there, big bro is always thinking about you in the (A).

I have to run to my office this morning after one of Chris's case managers stops by for a early morning visit. Good Night

Good Night,

Another day has just about ended and it was a good day. How was yours? Chris and I relaxed and watched TV and we played a few games on the Wii. I did my Wii workout and so did Elise.

We watched a very good DVD called Fat Rose and Squeaky while we ate our dinner. We had ham sandwiches, and ginger ale and it was very good. Chris enjoyed the movie a lot. The person who was supposed to come to observe me while I worked with Chris called and said that she was sick. I am caring for Chris this evening and Elise is at her Mum's playing bridge.

I got all of my errands done for today and I am glad that I did them early. Well, I had better get back to work with Chris. Have a good night.

Cheers.................

Good Night Jeanne, sorry I didn't get a chance to call you today it has been very busy.

How are you? I started the day off at 5:00am looking in on Chris and getting him settled and showered. Elise will be caring for Chris this morning. I have many errands to run this morning to include a visit to my office. Any plans for you?

The coffee is doing it's job this morning and I am thinking about some pancakes, smile. We had a very nice evening last night with Elise's Mum. She joined us for dinner and we devoured Elise's homemade tacos, and refried beans. We washed it all down with a few beers, beer and tacos are the best. For dessert we had Lemon Supreme pie and Elise's Mum had coffee. A very good evening. Later Elise and I watched a DVD called Beyond All Reasonable Doubt and it was very good and the ending was a shocker.

After Rosemary left for the night I checked on Chris and we called it a night. We hope that your Monday goes well without any problems and we hope that these final days of 2009 will be memorable.

Good Morning

Mood: Enlightened

Music listening to: The Thrill Is Gone by BB King (classic blues)

How are you? It is another cold morning here in the Old Pueblo, 32 degrees. I started the day off at 5:30am looking in on Chris and getting him settled. Elise will be caring for Chris this morning as soon as she gets all of the ships into port safely, smile. The seas must be really bad this morning because the fog horn is getting a workout.

We are going to go out for breakfast with Elise's Mum as usual this morning. We are going to the Village Inn, they have great pancakes. We are also having Elise's Mum over for dinner this evening. We will have Elise's homemade tacos that are just delicious, let me tell you. Can you say pass me another beer?

As posted in the previous entry here is a bit about our trip to Bisbee for Christmas.

Elise and her Mum left for Bisbee on the 23rd and Chris and I joined them on the 24th. We stayed at the San Jose Lodge like we always do. I got Chris's van unloaded and got the bed set for him. It is a lot of work and on both Chris and I when he sleeps in a regular bed. I called Elise to let her know that we were there. Elise came over and then we went to Elise's sisters Ann home. I was in need of some serious coffee and I had a few cups.

Everyone was there and we got settled and awaited the traditional dinner that we always have and it is just wonderful. After dinner we opened up a gift apiece and afterwards I has to get Chris back to the lodge and get him settled and ready for bed. Well, it was a long night due to Chris was in and out of sleep what seemed like every hour on the hour and it really wore me out. I got up at 5:30am and began to get Chris ready for the day. I had to get the coffee pot going before I did anything, smile.

I got Chris up and ready for the day. Elise came over to see how things were going and then we returned back to her sisters home to open the rest of the gifts. Ann had begun to prepare the Christmas Day dinner early this morning. The day was going well and I had to get a few snacks to tide me over until dinner. Dinner was served at around 2:00pm and it was very, very good. After dinner I had to get Chris loaded into the van and we headed back to Tucson because Marv would be there to care for Chris at 6:00pm. Elise and her Mum would be following shortly.

I got the van unloaded and Marv arrived to care for Chris and Elise made it home after dropping her Mum of at her home. We proceeded to open up our gifts and Elise opened up her birthday gifts as well. It felt good to be back home. Elise called it a night and I did to as soon as I checked on Chris after Marv left to the night. We both were knocked out for the count. Overall it was a good trip but a lot of work.

The photos are a few shots on Christmas Day. Can you guess who the CEO is?

Later...........................

Good Morning Jeanne, so good to talk you yesterday.

Tiger and Marcie, have a good day.

Ross, sounds like the trip was a success? I agree with you that it is always a pleasure to get back home.

Liz, how are you?

Mary and Bob, what is new?

Joe and Mary, how are things going?

Pearl, did you get the answer to your question?

Sis, how are you doing? I haven't heard from you in a while. How is the weather in GA?

Monna, thank you so much for the photos, they are very good.

We will be headed for Bisbee to meet Elise for a overnight stay there. Chris is resting in his bed and he will be asleep soon and I will recheck our packing for the trip.

It is another Hump Day! I started the day twice this morning. Once at around midnight and again at 2:ooam due to Lampchop was barking and howling because Root Beer was not around due to Kim took her to her parents home with her.

I tossed and turned so I just got up totally at 5:45am and began to care for Chris. Elise slept through the whole thing without any movement or stirring at all. I have a tremendous headache and my cup of coffee is not helping at all. Any plans for today?

We had a very nice with Jeanne and Angelica yesterday evening, they are wonderful hostesses. Thank you for the wonderful gifts, but you shouldn't have went out of your way. Jeanne, you are one very special lady and I am blessed to know you because you are there when family is not and I appreciate that deeply.

We also had a very nice dinner at the Outback thanks to Elise's Mum. What a treat that was indeed. We all had the steak and lobster and it was very good. We washed it down with a bottle of red and Elise's Mum had coffee. Elise and I shared a Wallabegone a specialty drink that is very good. A very pleasing day!

After Rosemary left for the night I checked on Chris and I joined Elise and we called it a night. Elise and her Mum are leaving for Bisbee this afternoon and Chris and I will follow on Thursday for the Christmas activities there. Well, I had better get this day moving but I am really dragging from the lack of sleep. Have a good day and a better day tomorrow.

Mid Morning

Mid Morning

Hello Again

Well, I have a bit of free time to tell you about our very short stay-cation in Safford, Arizona here goes:

We got Rosemary to to care for Chris on Thursday afternoon and we left for Safford. We stopped on the airbase the get gas and some cash. We listened to a book on CD a Spencer Novel, we love the Spencer series.

We arrived at the the Olney House and we called Chris the owner to let him know that we were there finally. We stayed in the bridal room like we did when we visited before, it is a very nice cozy room. We put in our order for breakfast and we relaxed and settled into our room.

We went to eat dinner at a Mexican place called Casa Manana, ate there the last time we visited Safford. Elise had a taco, tostada and beans and rice. I had enchiladas with beans and rice and we washed it all down with soft drinks due to they did not have a liquor license, but the place was packed and the food was great.

Earlier in the day we got our massage at the Kachina Hot Springs and we soaked in the spring water that was great and very relaxing. It has been a very stressful two days besides having the caregiver problem the water line to the refrigerator started to leak on the tile floor. If we had not noticed it prior to leaving we would have had a flood to deal with on our return. When it rains, it pours, eh?

We played video games on the laptop for 2 and 1/2 hours and we ate popcorn and and drank way too much Jack and Coke but it was a lot of fun. We advanced to a new level, smile. After that we called it a night.

We woke up at around 8:00am the next morning and we got dressed and we went down for breakfast. We had plenty of coffee, toast, fried potatoes, ham slices and scrambled eggs, very good. Our host Chris told us about the furnishings in the house being purchased in England and Europe where he and his wife were stationed while in the military. Very nice antiques. After breakfast we took a walk around the neighborhood area and we took a few photos as we walked along. Safford seems to be growing and more new homes are popping up everywhere. It was a bit cold out while we were on the walk so we put on a jacket and the pick up was iced over, something that we don't see to much of in Tucson.

We packed up and we headed home, we listened to some more of the Spenser CD on the way. We arrived home and we unpacked the truck and we headed to the movies to see Pirate Radio and it was good. After that we went to Oregano's and we had a nice bottle of Cab and we had a thin crust pizza that was outstanding. We also got a couple of Bellini's for dessert and they hit the spot and gave us both brain freeze, but well worth it.

Well, there you have it our very short stay in Safford,it was a good trip and we needed to relax and we did just that.

Later.................

The photos were taken at the B&B and during our walk in Safford.

Hello

Good Morning

Mood: Rested

Music listening to: It's A Shame by the Spinners

How are you today? We are doing OK here in Tucson, on a very chilly Saturday morning. The coffee is hitting the spot this morning nice and hot. Any plans for today? We had a very nice time in Safford on our very, very short stay-cation.

I will give you more details and photos as soon as I get myself settled and back on track with the daily grind so to speak, smile. Have a good day and stay safe.

Later...............

Good Morning Jeanne

Tiger and Marcie, what is shaking?

Monna, how are things?

Rosie, how are things down under?

Janice and Frank, anything new around your way?

Liz, how are you guys doing?

Ross and you still up north?

Sis, how are you doing?

Wednesday, December 16, 2009

Good Night

Good Night,

Well, today has been something else. Our trip to Safford had to be cancelled due to the caregiver decided she didn't want to keep her word. We planned this way over a month ago and we ran it by her and she was all for it. We made reservations the B&B and for the Kachina Hot Springs as well.

It was so upsetting that it made Elise cry about the whole thing and their was nothing I could do about that, not a good feeling at all. Finding a good reliable caregiver is a very hard thing to do and very frustrating when I spend my time to train them and they do this sort of thing. I have a tremendous stress headache so after I get Chris settled for the night I will take something for it and try to get some sleep if I can.

Have a good evening and a better tomorrow. I hope that your day was much better than ours.
Night...............

Good Night Jeanne, so good to hear from you today.

Tiger and Marcie, have a good night, sleep well.

Good Evening

Good Evening

How did your day go? Well, things went pretty well up until the mailman delivered. I got some mail today that took me by surprise at first but now I am very, I mean very angry. Unbelievable but I am going to tackle it head on.

I ran my errands and I got my car serviced as planned. I did my Wii workout and it was a rough one let me tell you. I didn't get to Costco with Elise but she went and I tackled a computer problem that she was having.

I am caring for Chris this evening and Elise at her book club meeting. They are meeting at the Blue Willow and Elise is going to bring me back some meatloaf for dinner. I will be waiting with knife and fork in hand, Smile. I just finished packing for our trip to Safford, but I will check it again before I close the suitcase.

Well, I had better get Chris settled so I can be at the ready when the meatloaf arrives. Have a good night and get plenty of rest.

Cheers..............

Good Night Jeanne,so good to talk to you today.

Tiger and Marcie, sleep well.

Later in the evening I am going to pack for our trip to Safford, Arizona. We will be leaving tomorrow morning after we have a good breakfast at Gus Balone's. While we are in Safford we will be visiting the Kachina Hot Springs for a good soaking and a full body massage. We will be staying at the Olney House, it is a bed and breakfast that we have stayed at before.

I will take along our camera and laptop with us so we can take a few photos if I don't forget, smile. Well, I had better get busy with Chris. Have a good day and enjoy.

Good Night

The day has come to a close and no major problems surfaced. How was your day? Chris and I relaxed all day long and I did my Wii workout while he watched and laughed at me. I did run my errands today though.

Chris and I were alone just about all day until Elise returned. I started cooking the bacon for our BLT's at 4:00pm and a good thing I did because Elise got back late. I am caring for Chris this evening and Elise just let to play bridge at her Mum's house.

Well, I had better get back to caring for Chris and need to check to see what the dogs are barking at. Have a good night and a better day tomorrow.

After Rosemary left for the evening I checked on Chris and I joined Elise in the main house, and that ended the day. I have to take my care for a routine service today and I will stop on the air base for a few minutes to look around. Well, I had better get to stepping so have a good Monday.

Sunday Fun Day!

Good Morning

Mood: Energetic

Music listening to: Do Your Thang by I. Hayes (Classic R&B)

What is up? I started the day off at 5:30am looking in on Chris and getting him settled. Elise is caring for Chris this morning. The coffee is brewing and I have my cup at the ready. It is a nice 49 degrees right now and it is supposed to reach the 70's today. We have a storm that is headed our way that may bring us some rain and cooler temps again.

We had a very nice evening last night at Cushing Street Bar and Grill and it was packed due to the 4th Avenue Street Fair, and the annual Christmas Parade. The food was great and so was the red. While we dined we listened to a live jazz band and they were very good. After dinner we headed for the ATC to see the musical Ain't Misbehavin and let me tell you it was fantastic. The theatre was packed and the show got a standing ovation, it was wonderful.

We returned home and I checked on Chris and Elise had already hit the pillow. After Chris was settled I called it a night too. We are going out to breakfast this morning with Elise's Mum and Paula and Marty to a place called Teresa's. We have been there before and the food is great. Well, I had better get busy. Music listening to: Get Up Off Of That Thang by James Brown

How are you? I started the day off at 5:55am looking in on Chris. Elise will be caring for Chris this morning after she returns from swimming a lap or two. I forgot to mention in my posting yesterday that we went to see the movie Blindside with Sandra Bullock. It was one of the best movies that we have seen all year. It is a must see and it carries a very powerful message within.

I have to run a few errands this morning to include a stop at the post office to drop of Christmas cards. After Rosemary arrives this evening we are going to eat a light dinner at Cushing Street Bar and Grill here in downtown Tucson. It has been quite a while since we have been there. After dinner we are going to the ATC to see a live showing of Aint Misbehaving and we are looking forward to this one.

Last night we had a very nice dinner at Colors and of course we had a couple of Jack and Cokes as well. Do we know Jack or what? Afterward we dropped into the Live Theatre to see a two man play called Tuna Christmas. It was hilarious and it drew a standing ovation that was well deserved. We returned home and I relived Marv for the night. After Chris drifted off to sleep I joined Elise in the main house.

Well, I had better refill my coffee cup and get his day rolling along. Have a good day and a better tomorrow.

Toni, gave Elise, Mum, Lee, Lois and myself a early Christmas gift that will be remembered forever. We dined very well on great seafood dishes, bread, deserts, and two bottles of red. The two reds were shared by Elise, Mum, and I. Toni, had a couple of Margaritas her favorite drink. We also had a few cups of coffee as well, and I must tell you that I am still stuffed. The dinners included shrimp cakes, salads, fried oysters, stuffed trout, Tilapia, french fries, and salsa. Toni went all out for us to the tune of almost 4 Benjamin's for the evening a large holiday kick start indeed. Toni, thank you so very much.

I will be taking Chris to his doctors appointment this morning and on my return I have to run to run to my office. I have to get my Wii workout in sometime this afternoon as well. After Marv arrives this evening we are going for a light dinner and Jack's at Colors. Following that we will drop in at the Live Theatre to see the play Tuna Christmas a two man play. It has gotten great reviews and the actors play over 20 different parts in this comedy. It should be great.

Well, I had better get a move on. Have a good Friday and a better weekend.

Later................

Good Morning Jeanne.

Tiger and Marcie, have a good one.

Steph, how are things?

Sis, have a good weekend in Lawrenceville.

Claudia, how are you doing?

It's Thursday

Good Morning

Mood: Annoyed

Music listening to: Riding with the King by BB King.

How are you doing this Thursday morning? I started the day off at 5:30am caring for Chris. Elise is counting slot machines this morning but she will be cashing in soon and she will be on the move. I just finished grinding up some coffee beans and now I am waiting on the pot to finish brewing.

We had a very nice evening at the Desert Diamond Casino last night. We played slots with Kim and she did pretty good but our game was off last night. It was a lot of fun though and it always takes my mind off of the everyday ups and downs. We ate dinner at the Steakhouse and the food was very good. We shared a bottle of red that was a Lodi wine and we love Lodi wines.

We returned home and I checked on Chris and I watched a little bit of the Wildcats basketball game, and yes they were winning. After that I called it a night and I joined Elise in the main house. What is up for today? We are going to go our for dinner at a place called Kingfisher with Elise's Mum, Toni, Lois and Lee. We love Kingfisher's and without a doubt Elise's Mum is going to get fried oyster one of her favorite foods. Toni is treating us to dinner as Christmas gift, she does that every year. It is a real treat for us and her as well.

Well, I had better get some coffee and get this day moving along. I am going to workout on our Wii after Marva arrives to care for Chris. Have a good day.

Later...........

Good Morning Jeanne, glad that your phone is working again.

Tiger and Marcie, what is up for today?

Good Night

Good Night

Another day has come to an end and it has been a good one. We took Chris to his doctor's appointment and he is doing just great. He still knows how to flirt with the nurses and doctor's.

We returned home and we took it nice and easy. I did my Wii workout while Chris watched me and he had to get in a few laughs at me. Elise fixed a very good dinner of black eyed peas and cornbread, pickles, carrots and tomatoes. Excellent meal.

I am caring for Chris this evening and Elise will be heading out to play bridge at her Mums. She just finished her Wii workout and now she is on her way. Well, I had better get back to work with Chris. Have a wonderful evening.

How are you? I started the day off at 5:15am caring for Chris. Elise is still counting raindrops this morning but she will be high and dry soon and on the move. The storm has arrived and it is raining big time and the winds are howling away. On a good note the coffee is good and hot this morning and I am eyeing a second cup.

We will be taking Chris to a doctor's appointment this morning and that is all that I have planned for today. How about you? Well, I had better get busy and get Chris ready for his appointment. Have a good day and stay dry and warm.

Good Night

Good Night

The day has just about ended and the storm is making it's appearance this evening. It is raining and the wind is blowing pretty good. Chris and I took things nice and easy today. Elise fixed breakfast for dinner and it was very good.

I am caring for Chris this evening and Elise is playing bridge at her Mum's. I had a dream last night that really stuck with me deeply. I will keep my eyes open and I hope that it does not come true. Have you ever had one of these dreams? I am feeling used, taken for granted and I feel like a fixture. Nuff said about that!

Well, I had better get back to work with Chris. Have a good night and a better tomorrow.

Night.................

Good Night Jeanne, glad to hear that you are alright.

Tiger and Marcie, have a good night.
